I think I'm the only one who likes RotK the MOST. I'm even a sucker for most of those corny-ass endings.
Or Arkham Asylum/Arkham City Batman. But they were voiced by Conroy, so I guess it doesn't count. I don't know; there's just something about having a character so defined and definite in your head. I don't even really like Young Justice Batman or the Batmans in the new DC movies that much, even though they're perfectly serviceable.
I think you can make it work, but buggered if I know how. Probably my favourite superhero translated to live action is Iron Man because his suit looks fucking awesome. More militarised wear like Captain America or Hawkeye worked out alright as well. The bloody cowls always look stupid, though.

But you do know why Iron Man works right? Its a metal armor suit. Batman doesn't have that. Its either tights with no armor and ridiculous amount of muscle or some sort of armor suit like presented in the live action movies.
I get what you mean but holding that against the movies is really unfair because you will never get that look or feel from the live action adaptations. I care more about the essence of the character and largely Nolan nailed that.
Except that RotK was a flawed film that was still an Oscar caliber film (or what that's meant to mean).
Again, prematurely laying the ground work for Feb 2013 .. if Nolan does get nominatedUnfortunately it would be a gift nomination, more than anything deserved this time around.
3. Thats like your opinion mang, not a fact.1. TTT was the weakest of the three.
2. TDKR is the weakest of the three (but let's not get on that merry-go-round again)

Weird thing happened this weekend. After my first viewing of TDKR at midnight, I was sure TDK>TDKR>BB. I was never a huge fan of BB, just never clicked with me. However, after thinking about TDKR and the strong connection to BB, I decided to watch it again for the hell of it. Well, I guess it finally clicked with me, because I loved Batman Begins on that viewing. And so two more viewings of BB later, and one more of TDKR, I have settled on:
BB>TDKR>TDK
Great trilogy.
on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being weird and 1 being normal, how does it feel to know you're so wrong, now that I've told you that you are?what a terrible film. such poorly written self indulgent overacted tripe. Bale is shocking at.Batman (that stupid voice) and it was just so long winded and boring...Nolan has killed this series and run it into the ground.

dude it is so badly written and so boring. you can attack me all you like but I had nothing to do with the film being abysmal, you can blame the director and the cast for that.on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being weird and 1 being normal, how does it feel to know you're so wrong, now that I've told you that you are?
I know what you mean but at the same time its nearly impossible to do the Batman you see in the animated series. And to me in fact TDKR came closest to the comic book or animated series level of story telling.
Live action Batman will never be like the animated or even the stylized comic book one. It just wouldn't work.
if ur talking about me thats not true. nolan was fantastic with memento and the 2nd film was great, im not trolling anyone, im telling you I just think its an awful film.Christ, I don't what's worse, the people super defensive about this movie who need everybody to like it with them or the people who basically troll the thread/its fans/Nolan.

ive seen all 3. im a big batman fan and I have a lot of the comics and graphic novels. the first batman (nolan) was a 6.5 for me, the 2nd an 8, the new one a 5 or slightly less.If you haven't seen the first two Nolan Batman movies, taken out of context I can see where some would come to this conclusion about TDKR.
However watch the first two first and then TDKR and it closes out the trilogy very well. Hell I thought TDKR was even darker in tone than TDK. It's supposed to be taken as a trilogy.

I legitimately think TDK deserved a best pic nom from 2008, since it is easily the most memorable film from that year. But Oscar-bait shite like Frost/Nixon and Milk (Movies people don't even remember that exist) will always be preferred.
Milk is one of the best biopics of the last decade, how dare you, sir.
*slaps with glove*
I challenge you to a duel. We meet at dawn.

Yeah, this series is DEAD. What a crash and burn bomb this movie was.
My issue with Nolans version is how Batman moves, the guy is super fast in other versions but in this he cant move for shit. For me its BB>TDKR>TDK.
He is a dark knight not a caped crusader.
His movements are clunky and slow just like an actual knight in Armour. He is more like an intimidating tank (much like the tumbler).
Oddly enough, he is trained like a ninja.
lol @ the people with batman avatars taking the movie criticisms personally.Yeah, this series is DEAD. What a crash and burn bomb this movie was.
His movements were much faster in Begins. Another reason why Begins is the best Batman movie.
Actually, begins has the absolute worst fight scenes.
The stuff with ras on the ice is cool, and heck even the shipment raid scene (he isnt supposed to be seen a lot, so it works just for that scene)
But every action scene in the narrows/ras fight on the metro are horribly choreographed and shot.
I hope TDKR has better stuff. TDK also had stupid "elbow-jab" combat.
Nolan gb2 film school.
Nolan gb2 film school.
Its funny people say he needs to go to film school - because it is true he didn't study film.
He was an English major or something, IRC from his wiki page. Yet, GAF still thinks he is the worst writer of all time (along with action director). I personally think his background shows in that he has some good characterizations and story concepts but translates them into a convoluted screenplay.

the movie will do well at the box office, but really, thats no indication of quality.
I disagree with your last point. inception was a terrible film and its heralded on this forum as the best movie of all time.No one would take your dislike of the movie as anything more, since there are probably close to half of GAF posters who were disappointed or didn't like it, but then your post included something stupid like "run the series into the ground".
Um its a trilogy. It was the last movie no matter what.
I would add that box office, plus critical acclaim, plus fan acclaim does add up to some sort of consensus about the quality of a movie. It doesn't mean you have to like it but it does tell you something about the movie.

everyone loves nolan, hes the best director of all time and is faultless.
james cameron is a hack, avatar was terrible.
zac snyder, michael bay cant direct and all their movies are terrible.
a lot of people hate joss whedon but cant articulate why.
halfway through batman I was just praying for something interesting to happen or that it would end. nolan needs to learn how to edit or at least tell a compelling story.
All I always tell people who say that TDKR was their least favorite is this: watch it again. As explained, there are too many characters to absorb in the first go. By the second viewing, you already know the plot, the characters and their roles. It gets so much awesomer!

Yeah I watched BB and TDK over the weekend before going to see TDKR on monday. And I'd have to say the Nolan's and Goyer ever so slightly surpassed what they had achieved with TDK.It brings the trilogy full circle and closes it out on a meaningful and tasteful way.
I'm going to miss Nolan, Bale, Caine, Freeman, and the world and characters they've crafted. :'(
