Again, not at all. Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 look more impressive than Pikimin 3.
What you are about to hear comes from someone who will defend, and perhaps even hyperbolize at times, the graphical prowess of these two games on end - the galaxy titles don't hold a candle (technically speaking) to the purported Wii up-port Pikmin 3. The galaxy games are technically impressive only when judged with the target hardware in mind. Emulating DOT 3 bump maps and rim lighting on Wii HW is nothing short of a crowning achievement, not to mention maintaining all these effects and more at a buttery smooth 60 fps.
As amazing as these games look, and as equally underwhelming as the E3 Pikmin 3 build appears, at no point did I say to myself "looks about as impressive as a high-end Wii game." To my knowledge, the galaxy games (or any Wii game pushing the boundaries of hte system) do not support anything resembling actual DOF (just strategic blurring at times to simulate the effect), global lighting, soft shadowing (as opposed to stencil shadows), or advanced shaders.
