edit: i hope it doesnt turn out to be really badly optimized, poor optimization coupled with physx being physx is brutal
I want to play 2560x1600 on ultra - I don't think my ATI 6950 will cut it. Was thinking of getting a 660ti for the free copy (for a friend) but not sure if that card will cut it either.
Watching that physx vid linked in the other thread, it looked like the 660ti machine was high 30s - high 50s fps range. I'm thinking it was running at around 1920x1200? Not really sure.
I just want 2560x1600, top settings and around 50-60 fps. My vid card is pretty weak but the rest of my pc is ok (2500k, 16gb ram).
Think a 660 would do it for me?
I get my GTX670 tomorrow and was wondering which drivers I should download? I hear there are beta drivers as well as release drivers. I'm coming from ATI, so this will by my first Nvidia card since 2003.
Tuesday in NA. Release dates are in OP.Is this game out?
Is this game out?
Dudebrochick, just cause your card isn't the newest one on the block doesn't mean you can no longer run new games.
This is Blands 2, not Crysis 3. See you online Tuesday!!!
With regard to the early VPN unlock would I have to then play the game with the settings on Tunnelbear set to the US until the game is released on Friday in the UK or am I ok to launch steam as normal after it's unlocked?.
Is it possible to disable SLI on a 690 card?
Have you seen the video in which the game runs flawlessly on a 660 ? With Physx on high.
That pretty much confirms the game won't be an unoptimized mess.
No worries there.
I know it'll run fine ... on Physx low, would love for it to run it on high :/
That was a 660, not a 660ti.Watching that physx vid linked in the other thread, it looked like the 660ti machine was high 30s
I was able to play the first game with a 4890 pretty decently. I don't think the second game will be too much worse.Ohh yeah lets see how my "state of the art" 4890 handles this mother.

You've got your answer I think. Keep in mind that it's a 660 (not the 660ti) in the video.
You should be fine with Physx high then.
That was a 660, not a 660ti.
Thanks, I've seen that vid. The problem is that the 660 is a Keplar card, which I know has like a shitton more cuda cores or some shit right?
In fact the 660 has 912 or something cuda cores and the 580 only has 512 :/
EARLY VPN UNLOCK
If your outside US and want to play on 18th you can use a VPN to spoof your IP address and unlock the game. It pretty simple and the risk is minimal if you just want to unlock and play.
1. download free vpn app, install and run (any other vpn tool will work as well)
2. launch steam and click on borderlands 2
3. should go through some checks and if successful unlock the game
But the actual performance are pretty much equal.
Anyone of you ever done this, works with out issues? Friday feels such a long way away... :/
That was a 660, not a 660ti.
True. Just hot and bothered by the Physx effects. Would be a shame if I had to pick frames over the pretty :/
Absolutely worth it. Not to mention that with a 670 you should be able to enjoy very demanding games like Metro Last Light, Crysis 3 or Total War Rome II in their full glory.I see the 670GTX also comes with Borderlands. I thought the promo was only for the 660 range. Gotta check the budget and see if I can squeeze in another $100 for the 670.

Can someone gift me this game? I'll suck your dick maaaahn'
Look, if Batman AC is anything to go by the 660 and the 570 perform exactly the same with Physx high :

Physx élevé = Physx High

Hope this works on my 2011 iMac w/ boot camp. I have the top model with an i7 and the 2gb Gpu upgrade
Where do you live?
My 670 is ready...
when can we finish our preload on steam?...

when steam decides to unlock the game.
I'm still on a GTX460, but hopefully I can play with most stuff on high except for PhysX. Still using a 1680x1050 monitor, so I should be fine.
Will easily sacrifice the PhysX on my GTX 460 to maintain framerate smoothness. Fluidity in motion is more important to me than goofily rendered fluids.
How do you guys think a 560 Ti will handle this game? I'm using an i7 2600K @ 3.4GHz with it
