The next mainline Resident Evil game will be handed off to a Western developer now.
give it to Visceral games then the series is saved.

So with backlash so strong against RE6, does this mean Capcom will never consider that RE2 Remake idea again?
Those are the only things I think we owe publishers/developers, to give their games a fair shake and not to make personal insults.

Uh... No thanks. Not after DS2 and what DS3 appears to be.give it to Visceral games then the series is saved.
You understand his consistent point of view and attitude towards games, but can't use him as barometer, for whether you might like a certain game or not? Isn't understanding somebody's point of view on games, in contrast with your own, the whole useful part of a review?
And to not break embargos with unsubtle tweets.
Are those the guys that did FF XIV? I enjoyed that.
They were never going to.
I'm shocked why Capcom didn't just follow the exact (and I mean exact) same RE4 formula with RE5 and RE6. Just make everything bigger, better looking, with better AI, etc. They could have introduced new things, but not stuff that changes the style and essence of the game almost completely.

Because the formula was getting stale. Just look at how many people complained about not being able to move and shoot.
I also have a responsibility to our audience amidst a very odd global series of bumped street dates. I could have bought RE6 days before our review went live. I didn't mention anything specific about RE6. I said I thought people should wait for reviews before buying. And there are clearly lots of differing opinions out there. And I generally think people should wait for reviews before making purchases, because I don't want people to buy things they won't like. If you know you'll like it no matter what anyone else says (how you get to that point is your business), then that's clearly unnecessary.
This thread seems highly acidic.
At least I'm glad to see that reviewers share my opinions for once.
Well if you agree with his thoughts on RE5 the yes you can.
But he is questioning the fact that some people like the game... is like saying I don't like pizza, hence is impossible that someone else likes pizza. Which is why I'm trying to say. I know he doesn't like RE games, he doesn't like them for a reason, and I don't agree up until RE5 (since i have yet to play 6).
People are talking about money hats in exchange for reviews, but isn't one of the biggest issues with sites/mags being scared of having support pulled from them by big publishers? As in no more preview codes, previews events, review codes etc.? That's not really a money hat issue. Most of these places live and breathe based on that support. Take it away and they go away.
I remember this from the Rage thread after the reviews for it started rolling in
I dont see why many people care, so RE6 is bad (to some people), move on with your life.
How are chances I may like RE6 when I didn't like RE4 and RE5 for its movement and shooting mechanics.
You can spin it any way you want it, but a 69 is still a D average.
Looking forward to the midnight release tonight. lol. I enjoyed the demo with my friend and I'm looking forward to mercenary so this should be good to me.
Ok, make the character move and shoot but then do everything almost the same.
RE4 was the reboot of the franchise; they could have, easily, put another game or two with a similar style without getting into the shitstorm where they are now.
there were a group of sites shitting on the game on twitter back when the negativity thread was full storm two weeks ago. anyone remember what sites those were from?
Not suprised. Being a huge RE fan, I saw this coming since RE4. Really RE4 should have been labeled as another IP (Ala DMC) as its gameplay elements were obviously different than the previous games in the series. Capcom missed an opportunity to start another AAA IP with that game.
But I knew this game was gonna be shit. When RE5 shoved bullshit Co-op down my throat, QTE some of which involved punching boulders, I went wtf ?
With RE6 looking like RE5 on streoids, how could it be a good game ? The gameplay formula has basically 'evolved' into an overtheshoulder shoot-em up with QTE and boss encounters in confined environments.
DMC is also loosing its touch, so Capcom needs to something here.
BTW How fast can 600 people make an improvised RE2 REmake ?
Until then I'll enjoy DMC3, Onimusha, and Maximo.
RE5 was the best-selling RE in the series. Regardless of how much we love or hate RE6, I suspect it will shatter past sales records for the series, as well.LOL this franchise and this developer have fell so hard off the map this generation, its just really amazing.
Thought about it. Nope.Or maybe you have terrible taste and call things that are genuinely good, from audiovisual presentation to controls, mechanics and gameplay in general, mediocre. Now you go and think about that.
He's saying there's a difference between a reviewer giving RE6 a high score and a reviewer actually liking RE6.
Read between the lines.
Put move and shoot and you'll break the game or the basic design around it. Revelations kinda tried that and ended having a very dull and bland combat.
Don't you fucking dare. They can't even save their own series.
You heard Patrick: "The game doesn't tell you how!"
And to not break embargos with unsubtle tweets.
Not really. If you personally find Revelations combat dull and bland, it's got to be because of the characters you are facing, not the controls or gameplay itself.
If you think the combat of Revelations is dull, it's clear you haven't played the first few REs.
I would characterize the first half of Revelations to be excellent, and the second half to be good. I'm not a huge fan of the shift to action andhaving to abandon the ship, closing off all areas. I like being able to go to any place at mostly any time.
And, Raid Mode was great. Really lengthened the game in an unforced fashion.
However, I can't say I'm a fan of what I see of RE6. The game seems... confused. And ill.
How are chances I may like RE6 when I didn't like RE4 and RE5 for its movement and shooting mechanics.
