That you don't know what the word farflung means.
Please. RE4 has you running all over god's creation compared to Dead Space or any classic RE.

So we just went from arguing about reviews on Resident Evil 6 to whether Resident Evil 4 sucks?
Resident Evil 4 is amazing. Or was amazing to some. You can't deny that.
Also the spiritual sequel to Resident Evil 4 is totally Dead Space.
So uh...wait...does RE4 suck now?
The Island owned and also had two of the "scariest" moments in the entire franchise.
Who's saying RE4 sucks?

The entire island is a blur for me. I cannot pinpoint a single scary moment in 4 at all
Regeneradors, U-3.
(Verdugo is Castle but it was a similarly scary moment that was tense and scary because of RE4's action style of gameplay)
Goofy supernatural stuff isn't really scary. I'm glad they scrapped it tbh.I honestly have no idea what those are. Have you seen the demo for the early version of RE4's castle? That shit looked legit scary, absolutely nothing like the castle we got.
RE2 and RE3 had you traipse all over a major metropolitan city from one side to the other, CV had you go from an unnamed island to Antarctica, and Dead Space took place on two ships and the surface of a planet.
And yet none of them covered nearly as much ground as RE4. RE4 was like three times as long as any of these games, and it didn't have a ton of backtracking. I remember Capcom saying the most common complaint they got from fans was that it was too long.

Well fuck those fans.
Goofy supernatural stuff
I'm losing track of what you're trying to point out..? RE4 is too long - exactly. The 3 major settings - village, castle, island - are dragged out. Even if the other games are shorter, they offer much more palatable bursts of different locations to keep the experience fresh, or at least not let you get sick of the same environment. Even RE1's first half of mansion -> guard house -> new part of mansion is enough.
I always assumed Capcom was full of shit and just doing damage control because they knew RE5 would be shorter.
He was trying to make it sound like early REs had you cover as much ground as RE4, I was countering that.
Assuming we're not talking speed runs, I'd say RE5 is a bit longer than 4.
The scariest parts of RE4 is the entirety of Chapter 2 (After nightfall) and certain parts of the island. The castle was overall the least scary, but it sure was fun suplexing monks.
*shrug* Maybe. I liked RE4 a lot and remember pretty much all of it, I can't say the same for RE5.
lol not even close.RE4 is one of the best games of all time. OF ALL TIME. It pains me to have its legacy besmirched.
RE5 isn't anywhere near as long as 4. I played them both recently.
lol not even close.
Think we've all already expressed our personal opinions by now. Aren't we just discussing the general variety and pacing of the games?
I like how you can tell which reviewers are shills by the review scores.

Man, I realize you're fighting one dumb extreme with another dumb extreme.. but try to express your opinion more.. creatively?
I was actually responding to the "farflung areas" comment, which is kind of ridiculous when you consider the actual geographic locations involved. There's a lot of areas and length in RE4, but it's mostly confined to a relatively small geographical area as opposed to CV, where you literally go to another continent. I do understand your point about the Ishimaru compared to the mansion, by the way.
Or he could just link to some great piece about why RE 4 sucks. Like this, but the opposite.
http://www.edge-online.com/features/best-games-2000-2009-resident-evil-4/
it ripped off multiple games like many other franchises from the past are doing now.so is the game actually BAD, or is it just different than other resident evil games?
This is a thread about Resident Evil 6 reviews, but somehow it has turned into something even worse.
Hey now, DOOM II is a good game!walk backwards and mash the trigger until the loud noises stop: the game
+ Salazar's GardenAnyway, RE4 had plenty of tense and scary moments and encounters that a lot of people took for granted.
First time being surrounded by villagers and Doc Salvador revving up with a terrifying one hit kill near you.
That nighttime downpour where you first see Plagas, the wolves, and fight the first Gigante.
Bella Sisters coming out when you jump into a pit.
The Chief bursting out of the flames during his fight.
First time you heard the monks chanting and laughing as they slowly marched towards you.
Encountering the first Garrador in the jail.
Novistador sewer
Verdugo fight
Every single Regenerator area, especially the first few where you feel utterly emasculated despite having built up such an arsenal
First half of the U-3 fight, for similar reasons
LOL IGN 7.9'ed RE6. IGN returning to it's former 0.1 glory system. I bet they couldn't wait to drop the 7.9 down.
holy shit there is so much wrong in here.first of all RE4 is shit and completely overrated.also it marked the start of RE's downfall.RE0 is great and felt like RE with the same controls. Code veronica is incredible and was the last good RE.

hateceptionI like how you went from one gif to another but in the end you're chastising someone who doesn't like RE4 with a gif of someone who also doesn't like RE4! The madness!!
