I never really noticed a consistent theme in blame space's posts to the extent that he was universally regarded as a gaf-celeb

Internet fame is meaningless. A friend of mine here in Japan is a fucking icon online he has legions of people who practically worship him on Gaf, many other forums, and Facebook.
In real life he's quite miserable. He spends all his time online now. He's pretty much given up his real personality in favor of his Internet persona.

Hodgson kind of earned the chance to manage at a higher level though. From what I can tell, by all accounts Romney should be nowhere near to competing with Obama. It would be more akin to Barry Fry skipping uninvited into Hicks' office with histrousers round his ankles, doing the Gangnam Style, taking a shit on the desk, signing his name with the aforementioned faeces, and backflipping out of there. Policies, general knowledge of the systems he'd be presiding over, personality, 'target markets.' He completely fails in all of those categories as far as I'm aware.
I feel sorry for anyone who has legitimate gripes with Obama. Imagine wanting a change, and then basically being told that Romney's the only realistic alternative. Surely the Republicans can do better than him?

Let's not have irrational hate here. There are some interesting international matches in this break. Russia-Portugal and Argentina-Uruguay tomorrow. Spain-France on Tuesday should be good too.
Edit: Just looked, there's actually quite a few good international matches during this break. Ireland-Germany, Italy-Denmark, Germany-Sweden... do or die matches in CONCACAF too.
