Bean 2012

--------

Someone needs to photoshop Ryan's hair on a bean that is substituted as his face.

Both had some off collar time which i liked.

Maybe Obama let joe use that 47% stuff. Maybe he just said screw it, went for the jugular

And Ryan firing back with Scranton unemployment was a nice shot.

Felt a lot more aggressive from both sides than presidential debate.

I think the lack of specifics, and the constant reminder of there being a lack of specifics, will hurt the Ryan and Romney.

Do the independents really buy the 5-point plan which basically goes:

1. Would be nice.
2. Would be helpful.
3. This would also be nice.
4. Then we can do this.
5. And maybe that.

Seriously?

But then I stop and think..... how can you trust a guy who promises:

1. 17 Trillion
2. 18 Trillion
3. 19 Trillion
4. 20 Trillion
5. 21 Trillion?

Where the gif with Obama shelling the money out. Oh wait, no one cares about us devaluing our currency since it screws with people and their social justice.

Personally for me it was interesting to see how my politics changed while working for a defense contractor and then subsequently getting laid off. Was amusing to get mailings suggesting who to vote for but not forcing to keep our interests in line with the business. After getting laid off and defense cuts costing me my job was also interesting to see how less of a shit I gave about maintaining a military presence overseas.

I'm sorry to hear you got laid off; hopefully you found a new job...?

Yeah, I get into this debate with several hardline Republicans at work, who continually say 'you should thank Obama if you lose your job or if this depot closes, because he's the won who wants to cut our defense budget by rushing us out of Afghanistan and iraq!'

To which I just reply glibly that I don't know how 14 years by the time 2014 comes around is 'rushing' out of Afghanistan, and I don't know how ending a horrific endless war in Iraq that we went into for the wrong reasons is rushing out either.

There was a NPR Planet Money podcast with multiple economist from both sides of the spectrum, and ending the mortgage interest deduction was one of the few things they all agreed on. Evey economists said it is awful for the economy.

It probably is. But what are they gonna replace it with? I get a large deduction thanks to it, sure. I also pay a lot of property taxes and contribute to my local economy. Getting rid of it and replacing it with bigger tax cuts for Paris Hilton will mean an almost double-digit increase on my taxes. So I'm gonna fight for the deduction tooth and nail until I am convinced that DC isn't a city run by and for the plutocrats.

I'd be angry about Joe's behavior, but he was on point. Hell, if Romney's "surge" is anything to go by then people like that sort of thing.

You want to watching housing go deeper into the shitter? Take away the mortgage deduction. You will make home ownership a toxic proposition.

1. Tax cuts for everyone!
2. More military spending!
3. I don't fucking know what we're cutting, but it might be something
4. Seriously all the good shit you want we're not cutting that
5. Maybe we'll cut PBS? I don't know

I think GAF's enthusiasm is feeding off each other personally. Biden may have dominated through his presence, but to many, it was through an over-bearing display that arguably harmed him, which is a shame, because his responses and points were well made. It's interesting. Ryan didn't particularly show us anything new, and so we are measuring who won the debate based solely on Biden's performance

Absolutely, in this context. No question.

Isn't it like 6 weeks before the Americans vote? And people are not only happy that they know fuck all about Romney's policy, but are also offended when someone (Biden and the moderator) try to hold the possible vice-president down to find out the answers!!

CNN and their independent voter tab. Ryan the overwhelming favorite overall over Biden. The debate itself was a dead heat. 1/3 for each candidate and the even option.

Why? Anyway, it's the only break us middle class get, I would only be okay with it if the cap gains as income loop hole and off shore account loo hole were closed first.

The idea was to not replace it. The economists all agreed it was horrible for the housing industry not to mention it being a regressive tax.

This may be the episode, if not it is the follow up one.http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2012/07/18/156928675/episode-387-the-no-brainer-economic-platform

Gash and Bulbo, thank you two. Thank you two for existing so much; only you guys can elicit literal real-world LOL's from me.

Yeah, Mittens didn't interrupt Jim Lehrer at all and try to bully him in that last debate. no sir.
This is the baffling thing about Rep answers in here and at large.

Romney was both lying his ass off and interrupting everyone. Biden at least only interrupted Ryan. Lying is nebulous. Both sides lie, one side just does it less. Or at least less blatantly.

I'll say it once and I'll say it again.

Undecided voters
and most conservatives
don't give 2 shits about facts and data.

Edit: meant undecided.
