Just finished my Reach campaign panoramas!

Well, I trimmed them down and scaled them a lot in the preview above, but the original files are huge! I will have to admit though, it's very easy to forget how great the campaign looks in Reach.

Enjoy your campaign panoramas, you won't be able to do that in Halo 4 Campaign.

Drones sucked balls, but Skirmishers were okay in minor segments, or in their small packs.

Covenant Reveal was weak.
They didn't really hit the "Covenant invasion" in Halo 2 or Halo 3 quite well, either.

Can't say I agree with all of them either but there are some good ones in there.
There's some fair points, but most of it is extreme exaggeration, which is no surprise. Each campaign, even the best one in Halo CE, had issues. Replay value is something I look at and linear levels, boring enemies (hello Brutes), or segments like some of Reach's on rail missions are the cause of it.

Reach's story was probably one of the weaker ones, but it didn't hit the bottom of the commode like 3's did.

We're going to have a new winner.
No one wins.

Team refers usually to multiple people.

There's a few of use apparently.

I don't know, I really don't follow this place much.

AFAIK there's Team Slurp who are similar to waypoint users. i.e 343 can do no wrong.

And Team Downer who apparently don't like anything and throw salt everywhere.

Damn, Halo Reach sucked ass. How did the people who made the first three Halos make this game?
If u do the same job for long enough it doesn't matter how good you are you will get complacent.

I liked Halo Reach's campaign. Not as much as 3, but I think Reach is better than CE, 2 and ODST. Sure, there were no missions as good as The Ark or The Covenant but there sure as hell weren't any real bad missions and all the previous Halo games had those.

I also don't get why people complain about ''hit the button to end the mission''. Is that so much worse than walking up to something to end a mission?

team reach slurp here too. its a great, and flawed, game. gets entirely too much hate IMO. oh wells, i don't expect halo 4 to change the downer trend from (some of) halogaf.

Not to mention it seemed like the best of Bungie was off doing Destiny. No disrespect to Lehto and co. but I just didn't get the same level of enthusiasm, from the studio in general. You can't blame them ultimately, but I think ODST is the perfect example of how a small team with a small time window can still do something really cool if they are excited about it.

I like Reach, warts and all, but if there were a Halo game that could be completely redone it'd be that one for me in a heartbeat.

exodus.

I don't think people hated Reach campaign, but hate the fact that is should have been executed better and lost a ton of potential for intresting moments.

What? One of my favorite missions in the game...

I love the design of the city, there are some great encounters like the where you have to activate the AA-guns. Plus I love fighting alongside ODSTs.
If only they'd stop killing themselves with the jetpacks :P

Overall, the main thing I don't like about Reach's campaign is the fact that the same story could've been told without retconning the books. The missions would need to have a different order but the story would be largely the same.

Did a whole lot better than Reach.

In Halo 2 you saw a small fleet attack Earth and a Carrier breaching defenses to land in New Mombasa.

You land on Outskirts and the old city is ravaged and occupied. I will admit the Halo 2 E3 Demo that never was conveyed the invasion a LOOOOT better, but Outskirts/Metropolis were pretty good.

In Halo 3 you just got the feeling that Earth is thoroughly invaded. Humanity is a resistance force at this point.

ODST gave a really good vibe for covenant occupation.

As far as Exodus goes, Level design was good. Brutes ruined it.

Amen. To me the worst part is that they trashed Nylund's books but then brought him back to essentially smooth out the retcons to his own work.

I looked up my match history for each of the Halo games.

Halo 2 - 1169 matches
Halo 3 - 1019 matches
Reach - 273 matches

Wow. Quite a drop off there. Let's see what changed:

Halo 2 - Single in college
Halo 3 - Single in grad school
Reach - Married with a job...

2 weeks ago at Microsoft France. And 2 days ago from a leaked version of the game, like a lot of players I guess. Hope I'm wrong, but I think I'm not.

Well I am guessing at press events they lock out certain parts of the game. Oh, and about that leaked copy... I hear something coming.

I had around 1,000 in Halo 2 and I only got online a month before Halo 3.
7,000 in Halo 3 I think playing 6,750 of which on dial-up.
4,000 in Reach, 500 on dial-up and 3,500 on broadband.

Pardon mua for asking, but did we ever learn anything more about join in progress, like whether or not there's a point in the match where its disabled? I don't think I'm alone when I say I don't want to join/people joining a game that's almost finished.
