Assassin's Creed III |OT| Easier to read than Ratonhnhaké:ton

Uh I'm in like the first mission in
Boston and I have to shoot a barrel. How do I do this? All it says is 'press LT to aim.' Nothing about how to shoot.

I was carrying a musket which i was shooting with Y, but the game made me drop it.

I'm not sure if anyone has asked. I've only played the first one but i never finished it and kinda got bored with it. I'm thinking about getting this. I plan on playing the other games at some point but i kinda want to play this one now? Am i going to screw things up if I do this?

The reticle has to be specifically on a barrel, and then hold Y. If you don't the game does nothing. Stupid I know.

WTF? Play AC2, just play AC2

Sounds like the general opinion is that 2 and Brotherhood were better games. Plus, they're both cheap, and you'll definitely be lost on the Desmond part of the story if you jump straight into 3.

Get them, and then by the time you're done, 3 will be like half-price.

Some of you guys either need to take some lessons in how to properly mark spoilers or else just don't type anything at all since the game just fucking came out.

I think someone got carried away:

Assassin’s Creed III is one of those rare games conceived to be revolutionary from the beginning. Games like this only come around once in a generation. One of the most, if not the most, ambitious titles ever created. An inspiring testament to what can be accomplished with unbridled devotion, it’s possible that nothing of this magnitude will ever be attempted again. It’s a truly definitive event that will be looked-back as a crucial step in gaming evolution.

Damn it all this hype, you guys are gonna make me go out and buy this baby.

Anyone willing to sway me towards 360 or PS3? I'm en route to the games store now.

I'm loving the game so far, the engine seems to have been messed with, and after 4 games you'd think they'd try to keep the same controls, the controls and the combat scheme are my only gripes, everything else is well done, and beautiful.

Ran into some crazy glitch in the first 40 minutes involving looking for a crows nest. So the camera starts getting wonky as I climb all the way up until I reach the top.
Then I end up just climbing back down and having to climb it again just to activate the cinema :-/

Game is ok so far. Interesting opening, I did not expect
playing as Connor's dad
.

And while I'm not a graphics whore or someone that pays attention to framerate, yeah, the framerate in this PS3 version is all over the place and pretty bad. For a guy like me to notice speaks volumes.

PS3 has 4 extra missions that are apparently part of a sub story. It's not like 4 separate and random missions, it's an actual mini mini campaign.

For a while it looked like PS3 was going to be the best console version but I don't know if it actually turned out that way. 360 seemed like a mess.

So I'm escorting
Lee and Hickey in like the first mission and they're hiding behind a wagon. Battle music is playing and there are no enemies and I can't leave them and they're not moving.

WTF

Any hints to get the games awful scripting to move along? Since apparently I can't do anything else.

Normally I wouldn't be that annoyed by the Ubiworkshop edition coming a couple days late, but a game like this I wish I could be playing in "real-time" to participate in spoiler discussions instead of being a step behind all of them.

(Kinda like Fez, which I played a week "late" and therefore was a step behind all of the awesome internet/meta stuff going on soon after its release)

They hype train just arrived and i already bought it. Got the earlier games on steam. Ill start 2 now!

Reload the checkpoint? This didn't happen to me.

That's what I ended up having to do. Way to go Ubisoft, scripting bug in mission 1. Can't wait to see how the rest of the game goes.

Well if it says anything, I didn't experience this and this was pre-patch, though I did have it installed. Seems things are hit and miss with people who experience bugs.

I think that I'm going to finish Revelations before grabbing this. I know it's considered the weakest release since the first game but I know I'll still enjoy it.

"You. Are a
Templar.
"

HOLY SHIT.

e:

apologies, this is only a little into the story.

Sequence 3 and beyond spoilers:
you know, I shouldve figured something along these lines would happen since your best bud is CHARLES LEE. I guess I just expected he would betray Haytham. I wonder if the main antagonist is gonna be your dad?

Fuck, I'm getting out of this thread until UPS delivers the game in my waiting hands.
