Picking up the fucking pump, picking off you suckas.

Song is goddamn incredible.

Yep, best song on the record in my opinion.

"Bodies on top of bodies, IVs on top of IVs, obviously the coroner's between the sheets like the Isleys"

Woman, Weed, and Weathaaaaa

Listening to both of the Dre tracks, its so damn obvious that Kendrick wrote Dre's verses.

He's not nearly as good at disguising his ghostwriting as Em.

The only songs I took off of my iTunes were Swimming Pools and Real. I just didn't feel those whatsoever
Swimming Pools is one of my favorite tracks of the year. as a single it was unbelievably catchy, in the album it's dark and meaningful and the build up to the intense climax. can't understand taking that off

Swimming Pools is a banger, no doubt. Maybe my favorite track on the album.

He mixed a version of it for Amerie too! Great sample though.

Yup, if I remember correctly it was More Than Love and it's quite identical to the Popped Off version - like 'em both though

Besides: Every second, every minute - man I swear she can get it
Eff dem haters, Poetic Justice is amazing

We adapt to crime, pack a van with four guns at a time
With the sliding door, fuck is up?
Fuck you shootin for if you ain't walkin up you fuckin punk?
Pickin up the fuckin pump
Pickin off you suckers, suck a dick or die or sucker punch
A wall of bullets comin from
AK's, AR's, "Aye y'all. Duck."
That's what momma said when we was eatin the free lunch
Aw man, God damn, all hell broke loose
You killed my cousin back in '94. Fuck yo truce
Now crawl yo head in that noose
You wind up dead on the news
Ain't no peace treaty, just pieces
BG's up to pre-approve, bodies on top of bodies
IV's on top of IV's
Obviously the coroner between the sheets like the Isleys
When you hop on that trolley
Make sure your colors correct
Make sure you're corporate, or they'll be calling your mother collect
They say the governor collect, all of our taxes except
When we in traffic and tragic happens, that shit ain't no threat
You movin backwards if you suggest that you sleep with a Tec
Go buy a chopper and have a doctor on speed dial, I guess
M.A.A.d city

Goddamn I love this dude. That half of the verse is just straight fire. And the way his voice cracks when he says MAAd city at the end is amazing.

I need to get this album. Hip-Hop has been really weak this year, even the underground scene has been meh.....Beats better be on point, or I'm coming for ya.

I was killing this track last night.

Enjoyed reading stuff like this, a track by track breakdown of the story. You could probably go more in depth than this, maybe there are more elaborate articles out there?

My CD finally came in after a fuck up with my preorder and finally gave it the first listen/s

and DAMN, album is nice

Had The Art of Peer Pressure on repeat, kind of struck a cord with me. Glad I got out before things escalated to where they did

Fuck peer pressure

MC Eiht feature on m.A.A.d city was a nice surprise and Kendrick snapped on that shit

Compton as a closer seemed kind of weak, but I get it, I guess

Anyway, pretty nice album. Was gonna buy it anyway as K.Dots major debut but dude did a good job of it.

Who else did a double take then realized what he meant when Jay Rock starts his verse and talks about his friend who "domed" someone? (not that there's anything wrong with that, just caught me off guard)

After spending a hell of a lot of time with this, I consider this is a classic. Pretty easily my #1 album of the year. Just incredible and I hated on the skits at first but I see why they fit in. The skits feel like something straight out of Boyz in the Hood
