So IGN think's that the Wii U version of Batman is the best version and Darksiders 2 is the same(with the DLC included) except for the fact that the reviewer experienced a glitch when he started the game the first time. I'm not planning on picking up either of those games but that's good news for anyone who wants to.

Also, I think its funny that The Verge marked the console down for things we knew were going to be in the day one patch.

So no demos on the eShop yet?

Hopefully there's some detailed Black Ops impressions before I go to Best Buy in the morning.

My aunt & uncle run a Mom & Pop store, "The Gamecube Hut", and sold 80k WiiU within minutes of opening.
Just got back from checking the local big box stores (Target, WalMart, TRU). No luck. Didn't even see crowds outside any, but there might of been people waiting inside (too shy to knock on doors).

Plus, games can’t be run from an external drive, so again — the Deluxe Edition is the way to go

First I've heard of this, is it true? Do you have to copy games from the external drive to the console to play them? Are we stuck with a refrigerator once more??

Darksiders 2 - 7.5 [IGN]

My Summary:

Darksiders 2 developers had the perfect opportunity to fix glitches and bugs, but instead decided not to. Darksiders 2 is lovely game that could had rivalled the top-tier Zelda games, unfortunately it was riddled with game breaking bugs just around every corner, e.g like getting a statue permanently stuck in the corner of a room. Most of these issues could had been fixed with a patch, but Vigil Games are just not bothered.

Back in my day we avoided getting stuck. Now, if you get stuck its the game maker's fault that you are an idiot.

Just got back from my local Meijer, which was the only place in town that was selling them on a first come first serve basis. I got stuck with a basic model but I'm fine with it, especially considering I just walked in at 11:30 and got in line.

The first guy in line (only 6 spots ahead of me) had been there since at least 4pm, and his credit card was denied, as well as his check. He walked out empty handed. That. Sucks.

No, and it would be impossible to do on the Basic unit because of how much is set aside for the built-in software. Verge is completely pulling that out of its ass.

I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
Eh screw it, I'll go hit the close-by Walmart.

If there's a short line, I'll try snagging one. Otherwise I have a GS pre-order for the morning.

I'll report back by 12:15 or so (in about 30 minutes from the time of this post).

Best, and good luck everyone!

Let's be fair here, unless you're thinking of Sierra graphic adventures most games avoided letting simple mistakes make a game unbeatable. I'm assuming that's the case here, if you can exit the room/area and it resets then that's a kind of silly complaint.

Called Walmart today and they said they were sold out to non preorders. Walked in at 1215 and they had some lying behind a cash register, and the cashier didn't even now what it was. Wonder if I took someone's preorder lol

So is The Verge's review one that should be ignored? It seemed substantial, but at the same time came off as being ill-informed of the things to come. Even though it was mentioned, it was like the reviewer wasn't aware that the day 1 patch would've rectified exactly what he was complaining about.

I don't know if I should double-dip on some Black Ops II action. Hopefully someone posts if it's fully playable from the tablet before I head out in the morning. Would love to be able to play some BO2 MP in while chilling in our loft instead of my office.

"This console that will be around, growing, and evolving for years just came out 20 seconds ago. Here's our review." is how I see all of these reviews.

They have had it for at least a week, look at other tech/game sites. Not defending their review at all, just stating that they have had time to review the hardware.

Pretty sure we know for a fact that it is playable on the gamepad. The question for me is how it compares otherwise to the other versions.

Welp, I was unsuccessfull in trying to get a console tonight. Not sure what I'll do with the Basic preorder I still have at GameStop (want deluxe), but I'll try to go to some stores in the afternoon to see what I can get.

Enjoy your WiiU's guys. :)

You likely did. Walmart doesn't have its shit together when it comes to Wii U preorders. The employees just don't know shit about anything.

It's interesting cuz I talked to one of the Target workers who had pre-ordered from her store as well and she said they got like 40 in and didn't fill all of their pre-orders. She said it would probably be available tomorrow morning for just walking in and getting.

I'm at the point where I'm more inclined to trust NintendoGAF's opinion on a game more than any gaming site's review. Especially if it's one of the larger gaming sites.

Either that, or I watch some extended "Let's Play" videos on YouTube and then make my mind up. That's usually for games that have been out for a bit of time.
