Guys, I'm not sure that all these coaching announcements count as "news" or that a week where just Army and Navy play each other was really "thread worthy." Who's with me?!

Ban him cyan! Ban him now! But wait a few days so he cant post on gaf during the Champ game.

The only people he will have to talk to about it is his family! The horror!!!!!!

As we talking about the NFL? The thread and sport that is a watered down version of the superior college football sport/thread?

I dont venture in there, its in the community wasteland.

At least not until the Bengals win a couple more games. Then you'll never leave, just like the MLB thread in September!

Alvarez to go back to coaching. You heard it here first.

You may paypal me $9.99 if you found this information useful (note: speculation for entertainment purposes only).

I pop in a few times every year in the MLB thread, regardless of reds record. But I will not venture into the NFL thread, Bengals break my heart too much.

For another 3-4 years until he loses control of the program and has some more heart problems.

I am most offended that you would propose that I might be an SEC fan.

What time are we meeting at the airport?
Time to take a hard crash on the gus bus.
PT Barnum has some serious competition from the clowns running the AUburn show.
They could've hired me..............
A search committee and two weeks to bring back the former OC? Auburn is run by a bunch of damned morons. Hello mediocrity!
Well, I will be setting my TUF donation card alight.
Arkansas State, BFD
All my Bama coworkers are super excited!
My GOD, more Barfield ball. I lived through the Barfield years.Get ready for 4-or-5 years for more of the same folks. we will be the turds, corndogs, and the leg humpers whippin' boy for the next few years. Not to mention the aggies at a&m.What a crock of crap.

Hilarious? Yet another coach abandoning his team before a big bowl game. A little success and it all goes to their head.

:jnc

Success going to his head? He was probably on the hot seat for such bad hiring decisions and piss poor coaching. 7-5 this year? Wis fans have been calling for his head for a few years.

Three Rose Bowls in a row at Wisconsin - granted presumably all losses in that game. Good luck replicating that going forward.

"Wisconsin in the rose bowl? Worst team ever what a joke!!!!"

"Three Rose Bowls in a row, super impressive! Great hire!!"

haha even Wiscy fans? I guess I don't read enough blogs. Any coaches Wiscy fans want to see?

Yeah, I don't know anyone who actually likes Bielema. I'm glad to see him go, but concerned about whether we can make a good hire this year and whether we will lose recruits over this. You know that Urban is stuffing suitcases full of money as we speak.

The safe choice of course would be Chryst, especially since he can probably bring back most of the assistants he raided from us last year when he went to Pitt. Honestly, though, I wouldn't mind seeing some new blood, particularly someone who could open up our recruiting outside of the current B1G + Florida footprint.

Wisconsin people how much credit should Bielema get for developing up players vs his staff?

Generally what I've seen people say is that he did a good job of hiring assistants, which is really about as much as you should expect from a head coach in terms of player development. However, his inability to keep his assistants around has been a huge problem, as nearly all of our key coaching positions have turned over in the last 2 seasons, with big negative consequences (defense in 2011, offense in 2012).

I forgot, Auburn had a coaching search committee to end up picking up their ex-OC. Congratulations Bo, Pat, and Random FB from the 70's!

Least surprising hire of all time?

Least surprising hire of all time.

I wonder if Malzahn keeps in touch with Mitch Mustain and Damian Williams?
