Fighting Games Weekly | December 10-16 | The roads are still safe from Justin Wong

They messed up Jojo's, and they might mess up DSR. Capcom can't do anything right. If they can't get online right in their next big game, I think I'm done with them.

? JoJo's online is pretty good from what I've read, same with MvC Origins, Sabin even put up videos of his online matches and they were pretty smooth.

Hyper Fighting is the best example of Street Fighter to date: fast, high damage, good enough balance, rewards smart play, and punishes stupidity. It nailed the "easy to learn, but difficult to master" idea that made it accessible to casuals and enjoyable to hardcore players at the same time. Almost all of the mechanics that Capcom has added to the series post-HF have failed to improve the core game - they've just made the iterations more complicated, more susceptible to glitches and shenanigans, and more of a timesink thanks to the above and the increasingly bloated rosters. I'd love to see Capcom use HF as the base for SFV.
Wait is HF the 2nd or 3rd CPS1 SF2 game?

It boggles my mind that the community latched onto ST.
Because

Besides it was common to stick with the latest game in a series. When did VH or Alpha 2 start getting more appearance?

Way I see it, majority of FG communities get behind games where one can win using cheap characters, case in point MvC2 and 3S.
At least that's what I've come to conclusion over the years @_@

Has Iron Galaxy ever messed up a game? I thought even with 3S:OE they were pretty committed to fixing bugs and even promised to retroactively patch back in features from future games (i.e. MvC:O) into 3S:OE.

Marvel is actually fine, well looks fine, dunno how it plays cause I didn't want to buy it.

The damage values in Jojo's are all messed up from what I have seen, so the accuracy of the port is very questionable. I guess the online is hard to judge for Jojo's because half the people you will play against are from Japan.

3rd. Super Street Fighter II was the first CPS2. Man that game is such a downgrade, and slow as shit.

^I've read some people having good connection against Japanese players.
...and what do you mean the damage value's messed up? Are they different than the Arcade ver., or because they don't resemble the DC ver.?
Seen it a billion times and people posting it over and over just makes it boring as time passes. Stuff like Kuroda (Gouki) VS Ino (Ken) 1/2 is good too...

Yeah they've gotten better after 3S: OE. OE's update isn't up yet I wonder if it's because of DSR?
MvC:O you can unlock characters, art and the various video cutscenes from the games.
...and before anyone complains about the intro videos, no one watches FG intro cutscenes anymore...because they watch it on Youtube now.

I can't find the video, but it was something like everyone had the same amount of damage done from a super, or their normals did the same damage. Something like that, which is completely different from the arcade/DC versions.

DC version of 3rd strike is probably the worst one :P

Third and final CPS1 street fighter after CE and WW.

Oh thanks I seem to mix up CE and HF haha.
...but yeah Capcom should consider releasing HF+ST to PSN and XBL, arcade perfect port...with unlockable artwork...by Bengus.
..for $10, even though we know it'd be $15, but hey for the essential versions of SF2, it's worth it

Huh well that's odd, but I always assumed majority of supers did the same damage anyways?

I'd be down for that, the Hyper Fighting that's on 360 now is dead as hell and has terrible netcode. Plus, HD Remix is ugly as shit

Aside from the urien unblockables not working, what else is wrong with it. Is it like PS2/PS1 ST bad, or worse?

There are also some general gamespeed issues between the different console ports. Nothing I would notice, but it's there.

There are a lot of little things that the arcade version that the console versions missed (and online edition is trying their best to replicate). There is this bug where Hugo can't be thrown when going from a standing to crouching state. Weird stuff like that.

Hasnt that been the case with every port? I remember people like Fubarduck claiming 3sOE on ps3 has input lag, and other people are saying both had input lag. After watching MOV tear it up on the PS3 version, it looked fine to me. So I guess there's no true verdict on the issue.

Online Edition is really close but not perfect. As I learned 3s off of Anniversary Collection on Xbox 1, I have no problem with them.

lolwut? I recall Petshop having the lowest health in the game, so he should go down faster. What about loops? Shadow Dio has a loop/infinite of sorts that if you keep doing a certain combo it'll randomly give the opponent the opportunity to recover first and block it.
I think that's just how the combo system works in general. There's a video on error1's YouTube channel showing that happen in the arcade version.

This promo ends TODAY. Also the Street Fighter X Sanrio FREE shipping code ends tonight at midnight PST.

Can't wait to go shopping in Tokyo next week.

Arcade stick hunting really puts me at ease.

Esteban has been putting out some great interviews. Latest one with ya boy Rolando.

You know, first time I heard of VxG I was like WTF is this shit that keeps popping up everywhere and I kept avoiding even watching the trailer based on the name alone.

But now, it seems like definitely a cool experience, and gamers should be lucky such a thing even exists, considering how many people they're flying out on their own money. Props to the VxG dudes.

He also just said Cross Counter will be coming back and VxG will be sponsoring their new shows.

Sooooo you agree with me then? That Hugo fight was amazing. Seeing him body Chunners like that brought tears to my eyes. I didn't like how it started though. When fighting Chun Li in 3S it feels like you are fighting a hitbox, not a character. The thing I love about the video I posted is that it seriously feels like two real life DBZ warriors(I'd say martial artists, but they are chucking fireballs at each other lol) going at it against each other. The parries in 3S make the game look more organic than anything I've ever seen in the genre. Even Guilty doesn't look as realistic and smooth(but that is Guilty's appeal as an anime game anyway). You get me?
