Why are the Xtina stans so pressed over Beyoncé now?

Don't let them speak for me. I love Christina Aguilera with all my heart but she has a long way to go (and rewind) if she ever wants to come close to Beyonce in any of the countless categories Beyonce has her beat in. Performances, album quality, song quality, business savvy, likability, industry respect, etc.

So is anyone going to say what are Beyonce's merits that excel her away from Rihanna, or are we just going to call Roy pressed in order to diverge attention?

Other than talent?

Not that talent has ever been a key factor in ITZ's stanning habits....

Britney Spears is a cultural icon, holds the record for the highest debut sales for a female ever, has 2 diamond albums, and is best selling female artist in the past decade.

Beyonce has 16 grammys, 4 number 1 albums, and is worth half a billion dollars.

And Taylor Swift owns the United States.

So she's worth more money because she'll endorse ANYTHING and has a lot of prestigious, exclusive, merit-based Grammy awards. Ok

Y'all can try, but the Beyhive and Navy won't be dragging each other.

Rihanna is currently slaying all the faves, and Bey will be taking it over next year. No one can deny this.

But let me say this: Beyonce can't be compared to Rihanna when it comes to status. Bey is a legend and an icon. Something Rih has yet to achieve...

Bey got invited to headline the biggest festival in the world, following in the footsteps of Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Wonder. When will your faves?
Clue: they wont.

Rihanna is currently slaying all the faves

I'm trying to think who Rihanus is currently slaying other than Ke$ha and Xtincta, because there's been plenty of people lodging longer-running #1s, and higher-selling singles and albums this holiday season alone.

I don't even understand how you could hate Bey?

Is it just because Bey is basically everything Xtina wants to be, but better at it than Xtina is?

That must be grind. Like being a Madonna stan in a post-Gaga world.

- A better singer
- A better dancer
- A better performer
- More accolades
- More cultural impact
- More respect by her peers
- More international popularity and recognition
- A taller resume
- A seemingly more involved approach in her projects
- More likable personality
- Has failed to make industry enemies or create bad blood
- More influential legacy-work
- Created an aesthetic that's ushered in more copycats than Madonna in her hayday
- Recognized for her talent in the most mainstream contexts (very few have reached this level)
- More on-stage charisma
- A presence and style that's become all her own
- Much higher standards for what makes a quality concert, performance, or album
- Has reached such cultural and musical acclaim that low-selling albums won't affect her negatively anymore
- Had the sharpest rise from "newbie" to "legend" status since Michael Jackson
- A better actress (not saying much)
- Is guaranteed to be remembered in 15 years
- Added a new word to the Official English Dictionary
- Sang at the Inauguration of one of the country's most iconic presidents ever
- Has a daughter who's the most talked about baby in the world, and whose face no one has seen

Should I keep going?

Okay I'll keep going:

- Has conducted herself publicly with class and respect
- Doesn't cling to an abuser
- The only person in pop music (ever) whose live vocals can top her studio vocals
- The only person other than Kanye West to be shamelessly praised on national television by Kanye West
- A music video that created a year-long frenzy in youtube imitations and cultural references
- Has mostly been the highest-paid female musician since 2008
- Unmatched business savvy and endoresment connections
- The only person in pop music (ever) to be iconicized for her vocals as much as her choreography

death at how this is 100% true

Is there anything Xtincta can do better than Beyonce?

LTTP but what do these numbers even mean

Its essentially radio impact. Its measured in "audience impressions". A +1 means the song logged one million more audience impressions than it did the day before.

Songs at the top of the chart nowadays generally have 160-200 million AI. (these AI numbers are not necessarily accurate.......they are merely good for comparing songs to one another)

That fact that people even have to ask, though...

LMAO

It looks like her, though.

Rihanna has been consistent in releasing WW hits. She's been on top since the LOUD era, and she hasn't slowed down. She's even currently slaying with Stay.

You know I'm only fanning the flames, I have already expressed my opinion on this matter

So what's the best Beyonce album gerls? I love Halo, Love on Top and that iconic song with Jay-Z, but I haven't really delved into her discography.

4 is considered the best album by most people who do not stan for an obese, vocal-nodule infested flop.

I mean, I like Xtina, but there is no way any of her albums are better than any Bey album. Bey's albums are lifegiving blessings from the Gods.

as someone that's a fan of both, I think Beyonce is the better performer but Christina is the better vocalist and artist. There's a level of rawness and versatility in her music throughout Stripped and Bionic that I don't think Beyonce has yet to achieve.

More international popularity and recognition?

Than Rihanna?

...I don't know if that's true anymore.

Bey headlined the biggest music festival in the world. If that's not indicative of international popularity and recognition, what is?

[edit] 4 is a great album. Don't know why the Fighters hate it so much.

[edit2]omfg I get it now, pressed that Bey stole Xtina's 'Fighter' female empowerment anthem wig with Run The World.

And Kesha has been on top with her singles since her debut. Same with Katy Perry. But when will Rihanna EVER be on top with albums? Is that too much to ask?

Every year, she opens with decent/average numbers and nothing more. Every year her release is out shined. Even when she finally gets her first number 1 album, Red and Take Me Home are there as a reminder that she still hasn't done much, this is just another typical Rihanna release.

I really don't know one way or another which is bigger (I don't follow either closely).......but saying that headlining ONE event is proof that Bey is more popular worldwide seems incredibly foolish.

Oh right, thanks. I wonder how these are calculated?

Come on now. Even my grandparents know who Beyonce is. They probably think Rihanna is some kind of skin disorder.

Christina Aguilera's career path is pretty much a mirror of Beyonce's career path, except the outcome with Beyonce is pretty much exactly what Christina was aiming for. I think Christina has a more risk-taking spirit, but most of those risks have either been half-baked, unnecessary, or straight up unwise. Christina I think is more fearlessly feminist than Beyonce is, but Christina lacks the standing, appeal, presence or likability to take it to the next level.

Oh right, thanks. I wonder how these are calculated?

I believe certain stations report their spins (or # of plays) for each song daily. Then they calculate it out based on how many listeners that station is believed to have.

Thats essentially it.

They tend to do reformulations every couple of years (they had one early this year) that shakes things up dramatically so you really can't compare across era's (like comparing Diamonds to SOS) but its still fun and useful.

ONE if the headliners of a festival that happens every year. That alone isn't proof.

And yet Rih will never be invited to that stage. Chances are none of your faves will.

Look at the previous years:

2011 - Coldplay, U2, Beyoncé
2010 - Gorillaz, Muse, Stevie Wonder
2009 - Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Blur
2008 - Kings of Leon, Jay Z, The Verve

There's a few missteps (Gorillaz were called in at the last minute after U2 had to cancel) but they are simply a different class of international recognition and prestige to the likes of Rih and Xtuna.

Bey is truly the queen of queens tbh

Its more likely based on the fact that Rih's live performance skills have been questionable historically. Whereas Bey SLAY's in that department..................

You think that's it? You think Stevie Wonder gets invited to headline the Pyramid stage just because he sings well? OK.

FWIW, it caused a bit of commotion when Jay Z was announced because people didn't think he was 'appropriate' for the Pyramid stage.
Basically idiots.
Nobody really objected when Bey was announced.
