You mean the... normal 2D sidescroller camera?
Normal?

But it use the same camera views of LBP in any case.
Thank you both for this. Unfortunately your posts are likely to be ignored in the hyper-partisan rabble.
They've been giving me headaches all day.
I think it's a way to see the things without to be a blind fan.Way to be a negative Nancy.
I've played the distinctively similar Xenoblade. I know what that team can do on a much weaker system.Do you have played yet the game to know the scale? I don't think a pics or a short trailers can gives a real idea about the 'incredible' scale.
there was a first wave?
Wait a few months, I think we'll be pretty amazed by some RPG promises for next gen.![]()
Gotta say....as much as ill never get a Wii U....that is goddamn impressive and pretty much everything Ive ever wanted in an RPG
-Open world where characters are to scale
-real time combat
-no random battles

Unfortunately there is no way will happens. Specs are too much close. Yes, even in those shots I see some little details where can overtakes the counterparts but are just very little details in the global scheme of the things.
There's a massive environment with rolling vistas and waterfalls. Not only is it a pretty backdroop, but you'll probably fly over and around it! This alone is a step up from a lot of RPG environments that were pretty but weren't fully explorable (Xenoblade somewhat included).![]()

Many people don't really get the actual scale of X I believe.
Also never say never: this console will one day be £50 in a second hand shop.
In about 5-6 years? Sure. Not anytime soon.

It'll probably be 30fps with slowdown when things get really crazy. Xenoblade was pretty good against something like The Last Story.you also have to consider what fps the game is running at. As from what i can tell, Nintendo likes 60 fps for their games(of course not all).
Theres also what resolution they run at as well. Some could think im nit-picking, but these things should be considered.

Monolith's title was the only thing that was technically impressive. It seemed to have some pretty solid texture and geometry work, but was marred by an apparent lack of AF, pop-in foliage, and looked like it could potentially be sub-HD. Certainly nothing was on display that you could say was clearly beyond (or even on the level of) stuff like Uncharted. Zelda, Yoshi, and 101 looked great artistically, but don't seem to do much technically. Pikmin just looks pretty bad.
Witcher 2 is a strange one. It *LOOKS* brilliant, but the animation is rather jerky which hurts the overall impression you get while playing it. In screens, though, it's top notch.*yawn*
Much better. I was very impressed with the Monolith title. I don't mind frankly that the WiiU will be behind the other nextgen consoles. They all are behind PC after all.
Yeah, I'm still not too sure about this. This generation was brutal to devs because consumers demanded that games look amazeballs, without caring about how the game actually plays. Studios shutting down left and right because their game couldn't sell 2 million or sometimes even 1 million copies. That's ridiculous.
The upcoming generation seems to up the ante even more. Is this really what you want? Do you want people to loose their jobs because their studio's budget couldn't handle making the game look like CGI in motion? Obviously I'm exaggerating some, but you get what I'm trying to say.
PC gaming is where it's at if you want crazy realistic graphics. Console gaming on the other hand...well I think developers need to thread a little bit more lightly, and consumers need to understand this.
For the upcoming generation, I really would prefer 1080p @ 60fps with less graphical enhancements than 1080p @ 30fps with the graphics turned up to 100. Hopefully, devs will start investing more in gameplay, and consumers will get back to the heart of gaming: to enjoy games...
*yawn*

Likely? You seen the shit that came right after right?
Last time i say any fucking thing slightly positive about the Wii U, ha! It could be karma being the bitch she is. I was quite the Ninty fanboy back when GC was around, so there we are.
Still not matching top tier PS360 games.
I don't see what's special about the camera.Normal?
Looking alike != borrowing/being influenced by. If we have a much older game from the same series that did this, why should we be looking at another game to see where itoriginated from just because it's more recent? If you were to replace yoshi with sackboy you could easily mistake this for LBP, I see where yoshi story did the fabric textures and a few other things, but it would be disingenuous to say they didn't look at LBP and create this in the same vein design wise.
LBP borrows elements from Mario as well, so I'm not making an agenda here.
X looks like a top tier PS360 game, but nothing beyond that
Holy shit this is the most horrific thing Nintendo has ever released what the hell.

actual gameplay. note the heavy heavy heavy LOD culling depth of field.
No, its not ugly. Its not best looking, its mid tier current gen title, although on PC it even had PoM and impressive water.Ew no, it's an ugly game, even on PC.
Would it really? Cloth textures are something Nintendo have used on numerous occasions. Previous Yoshi games have had it and so did the previous title by the team making this one. I would suggest that none of us can really say one way or another if they drew some inspiration from LBP.
Why are some here so bothered by a good looking Wii U game?
I thought you knew the WiiU is below or only a PS360, all the launch games are the best the system can ever do.
