RIP Cafe Alpha, you had a good run
I was really shocked to see it get destroyed, I thought the store was the main point of Alpha's life and the town, but looks like the story will go a different direction now? Alpha will be exploring so that should present some nice opportunities for more world building which is always interesting in YKK.
Alpha in the sky is still a mysterious character. I have a feeling the person that gave her the necklace is that old lady, but that's just a random guess. I don't even think the manga will eve explore that, but I hope they do.

Embracing the stupidity then notching it up a few levels in stupidity doesn't make it sophisticated or clever in fact it makes it even more stupid.
Plenty of dumb shows are aware of the tropes in there genre doesn't make them any better.
So worth pursuing for more than one chapter? I wasn't really feeling it, though it wasn't bad as such

I wasn't referring to the ratcheting up of absurdity, I was referring to the themes and existential questions that the series tackles. You basically have to do a close reading of it in order to appreciate the depth, so I won't begrudge the fact that you don't get it. I do a close reading of everything I like.
Dragonball really isnt that long (if you dont include Z), and you can get the first vizbig on Amazon for $12. That is three volumes of one of the greatest manga for only $12. Crazy deal and everyone should buy it.

I think it would be worthwhile if it was ones first entry to the genre, reading it after reading all the other series, it felt way too basic and lacked much of anything to give it is own identity in the present landscape, at least thats what I felt after reading it last year. Should have ended at Cell.
Oh well, highlights were future trunks, goten, and gotenks for me and the tenkaichi budokai(s) in dragonball was memorable.

Oh hey, they finally did it and we are not even at the half point of the series. I expected the manga to drag it out till the 7th-8th volume. Now that they have done it, nearly got divorce, and Chiwa got kidnapped and rescued by Hokuto, I wonder what's left. All this business politics talk been pretty zzz and I can't see it getting any better later on.

That was a great ending. Pretty tense and feel good finale. Glad I decided to read this on a whim because it was more than worth it.
This really seems like another take on Parasyte, right down to multiple plot points. It's still distinct enough to not feel like a ripoff though. It's good too because the reason I loved that is pretty much the reason I love this.

I thought you meant the demon form itself.
I'm not that far yet (wasn't in the mood to continue), but all around, yes. His demon is obviously better than the Ninetails, be it in design or personality. Not disagreeing there.
Poor Otaro, nobody likes him (except Ran).

Alright, this volume has been really good. I'm really impressed by the storytelling in this manga jumping from character to character each chapter showing their daily life and interesting aspects of their magic powers and how it affects the people around them. Makes each chapter a refreshing read and never boring. It really reminds me a little of A Bride's Story in that regard or even Yokohama, except it's in a magical world.
Speaking of magic, I really love how it's used in the manga. Aki is very creative and her use of magic has led to some great looking panels. Plus I love the mystery surrounding the magic system. Nothing really was fully explained so there is a lot of intrigue surrounding the uses of magic and I hope it generally stays that way even as Ran is learning how to be a sorceress.
The Sango/Jin chapter was damn awesome and refreshing way to approach romance. Too bad fucking Outarou had to ruin that shit in chapter 17. I wished Jin would just transform into a wolf and rip his smug ass face off. Seriously, Hibi is so much better and cooler. He has to end up winning or I will rage.

And then there is this whole Moderator business who I still don't know what's his deal or why the fuck does he want Earth to evolve. All what I know is that if Hikaru has to fight him next volume then it will be one awesome battle.

If you go into Yotsuba expecting something, you're doing it wrong.
Yotsuba is supposed to be read when you don't really have much to do, and you're feeling kind of "meh" about things or your mind is on the negativity going on in your world.
Then, it's just kind of warm to read.
