I really love this game but I'm very disappointed in the infinite mode.
I was hoping for kind of a sandbox experience as a bonus for beating the game where you can try things out but the entire time I have to search for food only for the purpose of staying alive for a long as possible. That sort of feels like a time sink MMO style.

I guess I'll stick with the 72 hour mode. Good Times.

In the Mass Effect 2 Hype Thread

How was the limited edition guide for the first Mass Effect?

I have the limited edition guide for Mass Effect 2 in my Gold Box right now so I was wondering whether it was worth it to pull the trigger and order it.

The only problem is, contrary to what Bioware might think, Mass Efffect was a pretty damn linear game. You could do sidequests on the planets (which were fuck terrible, hell I wouldn't even call them sidequests in comparison to most RPG's, most of the sidequests that were actual side quests were in the populated areas of some of the main planets) and your choices had some effect. Not really a mass effect on things though.

I'm hoping this game does change this.

Wow.

from back in 2004

sorry if late, but only just found this place again, and noticed this on teletext.

Apparantly Kaz Hirai has gone on record about the battery life on PSP. He is quoted as saying if a game uses the CPU a lot, the battery life would be 'about 3 hours'. No mention about UMD access on top of that, but 3 hours isn't a lot.

must have been around the time of the name change

Zelda would work pretty well as an MMORPG if it were set somewhere around the era of OoT. You have all those different races to choose from; Goron, Zora, Hylian etc, even Minish. It could be set before or after OoT, so there's no central "Hero"... or better yet, set it during the 7 years of war while Link is sleeping. As time goes by, they could release expansions and introduce "outlands" like Termina, Labrynna or Koholint Island.

And seven years later, I still think so.

Search doesn't go back far enough. Anyway I think my first post was in the mlb thread. Probably "lol Mets" or something

When I discovered that some Gaffers can't write

i think i forgot how to write anything in cursive but my name about 15 years ago.
Man, I don't even remember how to write cursive.
The only thing I really know how to write in cursive anymore is my name
I forgot how to write cursive outside of my name
I only remember how to make the letters in my name, and nothing else
I don't even know how to handwrite anymore...
I don't even remember how to completely write in cursive.
I don't even remember how to write some letters
forget how to do some letters correctly

Please tell me you're all joking...

I was a member for quite a while before posting, so this post seems sort of random.

Let's hope it doesn't take a whole year to get ported to the PS3.

Is there any chance, however small, of this game going multi-plat closer to the 360 release date?

I'm a big fan of Star Ocean so I guess I may just have to buy a 360 for this and Fable II.
Which was followed by this reply:
I doubt Tri Ace is supporting PS3.
Hehe.

I did buy a 360 for Fable II, but I never did get around to buying Star Ocean: The Last Hope. In retrospect it may have been the right decision.

Mine is the first after the move to these boards. I have no idea what my actual first post was. But this post is awesome:

3 married couples decide to join the Church of Sexual Repression. The Priest tells them all that they must abstain from sex for one month before being inducted into the church.

A month passes, and the 3 couples return.

The Priest asks the 40-year-old couple, "Have you abstained?"

The husband answers, "It was difficult, but we prayed and turned to our bible and found solace in God."

"Very well, then, you may join the Church."

And then he asks the 30-year-old couple, "Have you abstained?"

The husband answers, "It was very difficult, and toward the end of the month, we took a lot of cold showers and started sleeping apart. But we abstained."

"Very well, then, you may join the Church."

And then he asks the 20-year-old couple, "Have you abstained?"

"It was very difficult. We slept apart all month, and tried not to have too much contact. We didn't talk much and never touched. But one day, my wife dropped a head of lettuce, and when she bent over to pick it up, the sight was more than I could bear, and I took her right there."

The Priest replies "I'm sorry, but you are not welcome in the Church."

"Yeah, and we're not too welcome at the Supermarket anymore, either!"

I thought that, at the least, it provided decent enough closure, which was a major complaint to begin with. The narration at the end of each ending does help to differentiate between each ending, and they help to explain the consequences of your decision much better than the original "everything blew up."

Yes, there's still some plot holes and SpaceKidGod still feels way out of canon, but it's gone from being a bad ending to a decent ending at best.

Granted, I only posted about once a month for the first couple months I was able to.

I saw them while they were touring for RtCM, and for DS. Both times they were amazing. I was on the fence about them before the RtCM concert. It was the best concert I had ever seen.

In both cases, they played in relatively small venues. This might make a big impact on how they are perceived.

Very confusing without context.

SOCOM II was such a disappointment after the brilliance of the first SOCOM (pre-cheating/glitching) that I could never fully enjoy it. If SOCOM III approaches the quality of the first one, I'll be getting a new PS2 just to be able to play it.

This is almost a year to the day after my registration was approved. I don't know if I would have actually waited that long to post, but I doubt it. Oh well. At any rate, I ended up getting a new PS2 to play SOCOM 3, and it sucked.

Grandia 3

Yeah, I always did enjoyed the real time/turn battle system in Grandia series. Reminds me of Evolution Worlds too. :)

Hope they kept that. Extreme was alright for a dungeon crawler but otherwise nah. I enjoyed the second a lot. I don't know what it was, maybe its that crisp graphics Dreamcast had. But then again, I'm a sore sucker for moody protagonists.

I STILL haven't played this yet. Lol. But yeah, I can agree with this still. :D

First post was on 12-22-2008. It was in an accidental pregnancy age thread.

My advice as a father of 4 young kids all boys - oldest almost 5, almost 3 year old twins and a 17 month old is to put all your options on the table and discuss this in depth as a couple. Also make this decision before she goes on her trip that is absolutely critical or cancel the damn trip this is the biggest decision of your life and it needs both you to be on board.

I've been in your boots to some degree, when we were trying for our second I remember my wife running out to the garage in tears when I got home as she had found out she was pregnant with twins, same situation when we found out we were accidentally pregnant with our fourth.. our twins were only 9 months old and had almost broken our marriage, so tough... and yes we were using the mini-pill, being careful and had sex maybe twice the whole month still.. oops.

So just get together privately and discuss, the two of you need to make this call together and as a unit, leave mom and dads out of it unless they can be completely rational sound board. Given your ages I would look at the abortion option very seriously. Can you make this work.. yes but it is going to be very hard, being a parent is hard.

On a side note though if you do become a father let me tell you that as frustrating as it can be it can also be an absolutely fantastic experience and show you a love deeper then you could ever imagine. My oldest son is at such a fun age right now... the other morning he was so excited about his 'design' he built with legos that he wanted me to build on Banjo Nuts and Bolts, totally unexpected and made my day.

Looking further at the thread it appears that they did decide to go with an abortion.

cannot believe its been almost 4 years since ive been posting on here.

My first post dates back all the way to the ancient days of June, 2012, in a thread about The Walking Dead by Telltale:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=39340696&postcount=233

The writers, designers, and voice-actors to put all that time and effort into crafting performances, mood, and atmosphere that actually succeed at being compelling and immersive, only to have it kneecapped with a bottom-feeding larf that doesn't fit whatsoever. If Telltale was doing an Evil Dead game, or a Return of the Living Dead game, that makes sense. But there were more than a couple moments not quite ruined, but definitely dented thanks to the achievements popping up at the bottom of the screen like a crappy heckler at a movie theater on opening night.

It's supposed to be, the new ps3 only patch is the one that removed it.
Though, you can still OTG with the EX smoke bomb, it just knocks them back and doesn't juggle them anymore, but it does 10% unscaled damage, so if you want to waste a meter you can add 10% to any of your combos. At least this is what I have read, I have an xbox so I can't test any of it yet.

where did you read that? id like to know what else can do unscaled damages!

MORTAL KOMBAT reboot THREAD! :)

After 30 long months in NeoGaf's FCW I have finally been moved up to the main roster.

For those of you that don't know me I am the new era, your new hero, your party host and most importantly the future of WrassleGaf. *thank you* *thank you* Now when you think of a new era, you think of a posters who can change the course threads, transcend cliques and brings forth the dawning of a new age. I am that man and let me tell you a new era is exactly what this once proud and formidable community sorely needs. What were once captivating, trendsetting threads have now been reduced to cliched, and let be honest boring snooze fest of repeated pics and in thread bickering in dire need of a knight in shining armor. Lets review the facts; quality of wrestling discussion, downward spiral, enthusiasm for the future of this once great sport, plummeting. Mainstream (and NBA/MMA Gaf) acceptance, non-existent.

I know your sad and that's why I'm here. You people have been led to believe that mediocrity is excellence NU-UH, I AM EXCELLENCE. Now that the LMG era is here this forum from all the big wig gamers in the back , to all the Wrasslegaf vets in this thread, and all the 1 post crybaby snitches will ever...EVER be the same again. (until 9pm when Cena ruins everything with the same old crap)
Now hit my music

*washes hands*

Complete with a sweet Chris Jericho avatar.

This was basically his first promo in WWF

Holy shit this was my first post what was I thinking.

More importantly, why would I repeat it? (Answer: Because comedy)

Hey how about some negative energy?!

I had a fairly sizable varicocele that was strangling my left testicle--was down to about 1/4 - 1/3 the size of the other. Fertility wasn't a huge issue since the right was fine, but it was just comically large and sagged like a wet paper bag full of worms.

That is a horrible image I am sorry.

Anyway, had the surgery and they came in through the lower abdomen, this was at the beginning of the summer after my second year of college. I couldn't do anything the rest of the summer and still wasn't in good condition by the start of the school year. They cut through a good amount of muscle tissue going through the abdomen and it takes a long while to heal up properly. And forget about coughing; nasty, sharp, tearing pain.

It was pretty brutal but I'm probably making it out to be worse than it was. I had enough vicodin and down-time to get through it. Plus, Doom 3 had just come out so it was a great time to need a lot of sitting down.

To this day though I do have a nasty scar and pressure on the scar is very uncomfortable since there's not really any muscle there to absorb it.

My testicle appreciates the effort, though.

The room in Fort Frolic? That's not his room, it comes later in the game.

I knew it was a Bioshock post, it was shortly after the game had come out. And with Infinite coming out tomorrow, we've come full circle. And so, this shall be my last post.

Nah I'm just playing fuck you.

Haven't listened to any other Queensryche albums, but Operation: Mindcrime is a god damn masterpiece so I probably don't need to.

I was thinking it'd be in the anime thread, but that was my second post, and it was also only 2 months ago so it's not too nostalgic.

In that fear of heights thread.

Me too.

I felt extremely uncomfortable in the sky dungeon in Twilight Princess, but worst was Catcall tower in Okami - I practised climbing up little things first and then clung so darn tight to that tower that I never even discovered that the glowy ring things stop you falling.

Took me about three hours to get up there. Never again.

Some junior should make his first post in this thread.

Well, this'll be my first post since I just noticed my account has been activated :D

Hello all, long time lurker from Sweden here! I've got 5 minutes before my class arrives so I'll make this quick: teacher, gamer, cinephile, metalhead are the words I usually describe myself with. 26 year old and have sort of graduated and started my first real job this january. I will probably spend most of my time here in the OT section, at least until the summer holiday when hopefully I get more time to actually play games hehe.

He did, further up the page.
