Cons:

Animation- Given just how good the game looks, it was jarring to see no animation for getting in or out of a vehicle. Plus, what happened around 7:19? It is so bizarre.

No way, the animations are excellent. Did you con it just becaue of the no vehicle animation?

So a transport helicopter decides to land while a damn attack helicopter is circling the building.
might be one of the stupidest things I have seen in a military game.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't help comparing the BF3 animation--like that scene with the soldier pressing his weight against the door to open it--and thinking it looks better than this video. Take a look at the scene where the team is running toward the two-stack building and taking cover. Their running animation just looks a bit odd--fake. I can't put my finger exactly on what looked odd, but it just does.

Loved everything else about the video, and definite improvement in graphics over BF3.

Oh look, another modern military shooter featuring a regenerative bullet-sponge American protagonist running through a variety of Hollywoodesque setpiece moments throwing off military banter between eachother.

I love Battlefield, but ugh. Cut off this festering arm of a single-player component already and stick to the MP.

.

If i pre-order do they remove the SP for free?

I never did pick up BF3 for PC, did that game look close to this?

If you have a reasonably beefy PC, BF3 is still one of the best looking games out there. If you told me 4 was the same game with some effects turned on and other details, I'd believe.

Yes, specifically just that. Given the overall fidelity, absences such these need to be addressed.

I think this is the drawback of attaining even more realistic visuals, i.e. the small things that most didn't take note in the past now start to stick out like sore thumb.

So it's been a while since I played Battlefield 3 single player but did the health re-gen as fast as it did in the Battlefield 4 trailer? I seem to remember at least a 5 second delay, and I didn't notice that this time. Could be the developers playing god mode, or could it be Call of Dutyized?

DUMDUMDUM!

The game looks amazing. Seems like BF 3.5.

Small details that bugged me.

Not very excited by Russian support soldier having the same helmet and the Russian jeep being identical to the one in BF3 but with more detail.

These things comes from far too many hours of BF3/

That was one of the things that bugged me too. Maybe they are just placeholder models until they get the newer models in. If not then that's disappointing.

Russian BF3 Sniper at 07:05, 12:35 and 8:59 :/. Russian BF3 Support at 8:49. Lame to see old models, so yeah hopefully they are placeholders.

Holy ISH! Just watched the full video. Talk about intense! I had serious anxiety watching all of that. This is like a whole new level of intensity for videogames. Graphics are incredible. I wonder how the PS4 version will stack up to this PC version. Any idea what kind of PC hardware this was running on?

kudos to EA/DICE for releasing a 17 minute video to unveil. That was awesome.

I agree. Why are so many people whining that they didn't start with Multi-player. Of course they wanted to show the engine in the best possible light. COD games usually reveal single player first right? Initial Halo reveals are usually cinematics or in engine but not gameplay. I thought this was a good start. There is no satisfying some people I guess. All will be revealed in due time. The game itself looks pretty good. Its coming for 360 and PS3 which makes me think that it may limit what they can do to some extent.

I will admit I kinda felt bad when the chopper pilot and her gunner crashed and died... didn't care one shit about anyone else though.

Pretty much, mainly because the developers tried to make you care about your teammates by shoving all that emotion and SACRIFICE MEEE dialogue in, but it all falls flat. However when you just kinda let it happen, like the chopper pilot/gunner helping you out and then getting killed, it feels more natural.

Game looks great, although I wonder how it'll run on PS4.

Oh yeah... the dog punch was a pretty great character introduction.

I felt that one too. That said, I wonder how sad (comparatively) I'd have felt if the pilot was a male.

You need to factor in gameplay. This isn't a movie. Having an animation everytime you get into a vehicle will likely slows the pace of the game, and that may not be the vision Dice has.

To the people making the same complaints over and over about not seeing multiplayer footage - how different is it going to be? Same graphics, more people, same shooting, same explosions - jesus i cant believe the complaints on here. Its a reveal, just look at it and imagine more people running around and shooting at you. it's not that hard.

I think I'm done with modern warfare shooters. Dull settings, overused dialogue, and the constant action is strangely boring. Yawn!

I reckon I've been thoroughly desensitised to seeing helicopters being downed.

Graphics are nice...but I'm tired of these games I think.

More than that, I'm tired of the "oh shit you are in DANGER!"....when really you aren't. It's like a video game version of Screamers, but without real emotional reaction attached.

It looks beautiful but just painfully uninspired.

And yet another Battlefield that is revealed by showing the single-player. John Walker was right, EA just doesn't get it.

If the next-gen consoles even come close to this, I'll be pretty happy.

But give me MP footage next time, DICE. I don't play Battlefield for the SP.

Dice was probably running this on a $5000-$10000 PC. I highly doubt it will look this good on consoles.

I'm coming off of console and it's been a while since I played a modern war shooter so these visuals impressed the hell out of me. Everything crumbling around you, the spray of rain on the windshield as you exit the tunnel, all very nice touches.

Gameplay looks like standard stuff but still great.

Given it was snippet of SP where cinematics was the main focus, I don't see "pacing" as a justifiable reason.

As aforementioned, it does not feel consistent with rest of the fidelity and animation.

Uh, wouldn't that be realistic though?

I understand the complaint (model recycling wise), but I'm pretty sure that a run of vehicles for a military are going to all look nearly the same. This game could take place 10 years before or after Battlefield 3 and it would make sense to be driving similar or the same vehicles unless a new vehicle replaced something in a military.

Heck, you would be hard pressed to find a difference in many countries versions of a Humvee (outside of attachments) over the last 20 years. There are Humvees in service that look exactly like they did in 1993.

That singleplayer gameplay looks incredibly boring. I'm so done with the bro let's fuck shit up modern military shooter.

Also glad to see that they are recycling models from BF3. Fills me with hope.

It would be realistic when talking about the jeep, but the russian gear? no so much. The Russian gear is not even proper realistic.

I really hoped that they would go with more realistic gear for BF4.

So seems like some of GAF wasn't all that impressed and really wanted Dice to go in some type of other direction. My question is, what direction would you have wanted the BF franchise to go towards next?

Serious question because i am curious as hell to hear every ones thoughts on this matter.

Stop making a campaign so they can just promote their game with scripted scenes. Make an MP only game and outsource CGI work to promote it.
