Yup he's delusional. They've been catering to the hardcore competitive side more then the casuals he says.
So full of shit.

Did they actually show that? LOL
Apparently not enough! I mean having a good skill gap that lets players improve by playing? pfft who the fuck needs that?
I started Halo 2 completely new to XBL a year after Halo 2 came out but thanks to the 1-50 system matching me within 5 levels of my rank it gave me people that were also new to the experience and I learned by playing within my skill rank. Now due to the XP system that is all gone.

God some of these questions are cringe worthy. These are actually giving convention general public questions look good.
But... they already had the ten million+ sales. Why did they feel the need to try to make the game more accessible to broaden the game's appeal to get more?
Multiplayer feels really fucked up too. It feels like SWAT matches, that's how fast the kills come. Everyone is sprinting everywhere, power weapons everywhere, vehicles everywhere (Mantis and Banshee on the same map? Great idea!), balance nowhere. I don't see it having much longevity with me, not like H3 (or even Reach) and certainly nowhere near as much as H2.
I don't know if I want to make maps for this kind of gameplay, I think it's just been sped up and cut down, all of the tactics and skill of Halo has been replaced with "Whoever sees the other guy first wins". You used to get hit once, maybe twice, and be able to turn and put up a fight (unless it was a CE Pistol or Snipe, obviously). I liked that Halo was a little meatier, maybe even a tad slower and chunkier... and for all their talk of 'making you feel like you're in a heavy suit of Spartan armor', you feel awfully flimsy and easy to bump off.
I hate to say it, but it feels like Call of Duty had waaaaaaaaaaaay too much influence on the gameplay here. Too fast, too many pointless weapons (we really need 4 rifles?)... it's just all over the place.
I know it just came out, but first blush, I think I'm done with 343's vision of Halo. I went from liking the campaign (but feeling lost on a lot of the story) to "Wow, campaign was all there was in this game for me."

Don't fix what ain't broken etc.
Hyperbole kills any chance of contructive discussion.
I dislike this "it's just not for you" rebuttal that's becoming increasingly common.
Fans wanted a gameplay impacting progression system?
Wait fans wanted the progression system? What fucking fans were they talking to?
Fans wanted a gameplay impacting progression system?
Fans wanted a progression system? Where did they find these so called fans?

WOAH WOAH WOAH!
We wanted a game impacting progression system?
Who on earth did they speak to?
Having to wait sixty levels in order to not flinch wildly on every shot: "Interesting," say fans.
NO GAMEPLAY IMPACTING PROGRESSION?!?!?!!?!?!
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME, YOU START THE GAME WITH ONLY THE ASSAULT RIFLE FOR FUCK'S SAKE!
343 received feedback from fans that they were looking for gameplay impacting progression, not armor.
WAT?
I am certain that people here were going nuts over this game and loving the shit out of it when it was released. Did I miss the memo that it was time to hate it?
They're about equal sales wise, no? On 360 I mean.See CoD sales numbers and xbox live activity
Damn, the hate is strong already here.
Screw the haters, Halo 4 was excellent![]()
Cool, so I don't have to rethink my decision to move to PC and PS4.That just told me everything I needed to know. They're happy with things the way they are and they don't have a clue when it comes to Halo.
You clearly weren't looking into the HaloGAF thread thenI am certain that people here were going nuts over this game and loving the shit out of it when it was released. Did I miss the memo that it was time to hate it?

Oh, those fans... Call of Duty fans.
I know I was bashing the campaign from Day 1, and my goodwill ran out very quickly in regards to the MP.
I remember many others not being satisfied with SP, and the progression system from the start also, the story got a lot of hate.
So, how can they make it more accessible?

LMFAORamps.

Yep. As per my post above, it only took me 2 days to figure out I was done with 343's vision of Halo. Pretty sad, considering I've been a fan of the series forever and was even pretty forgiving of their missteps in the past (Halo 2's abrupt ending... all of Reach...)
I guess on the bright side there's no reason to buy a NextBox for Halo5, that's money I can put towards something that isn't coasting on brand recognition and nostalgia fumes.
yeah I should've excluded the sales.
But looking at Halo's MP they've been handily beaten by CoD ever since CoD 4 was released and prior to Halo 4's release CoD 4 was beating Reach and all other Halo's for XBL activity.
