Ayo someone pass me that banding fix.

I'm still looking for good pictures to tweak it on so I ran through one of those for you to test it some more.

Also if you seriously did want it, here is the actual script I made.

  1. Use the lasso to select the area you want to fix.
  2. Select the color channel that is causing most of the banding (For your above image, it was the green, with a bit of blue mostly in the top left corner)
  3. Run the script. If it still looks banded, run it again, or on a different color channel that may be causing that issue. (The above image was two passes through green, two passes through blue.)

Good stuff, but careful with dem edges. You should copy the selection to a new layer so that you're non-destructive, and then you can use a soft low opacity eraser to ease the edge of your banding-fixed area to blend it with the original layer below.

Almost done with this masterpiece of a game .
Though it would be shame to leave this game without paying hommage to the legend himself .

Awesome.

Could you share the original full size one?

Unfortunately I habitually delete stuff. Also the original full size image was friggin' 421mb. I went looking for the same spot, but only found THIS. (I kept the full of that one for now if you're interested). Its hard to find the same spot, even with noclip, haha.

Hawken will soon have spectator mode. I think it'll be fun to screen.

I can't believe it's taken them so fucking long.
Not being able to properly screenshot Hawken has been pissing me off so badly, lately. The game kicks ass and the graphics are out of this world.

I was surprised they didn't have a spectator mode when I played the closed Alpha last September. By whatever stage the game is now not to have it kind of blows my mind, considering what genre of game it is.

It has a nice art style but out of this world graphics? It's still just Unreal Engine 3. It's also has some pretty heavy-handed color grading.

I remember it looking pretty slick in 4K but yeah... couldn't take any decent screenshots and I thought the gameplay was sluggish. Maps were cramped, too. Whatever happened to large, open levels where you could really let loose with a mech?

I'd definitely appreciate it.

That is GREAT news. I loved taking shots of Hawken but to get a reasonable framerate the resolution wasn't quite where I would have liked it to be.

In terms of scale alone it blows away almost every other UE3 game. I think it's absolutely one of the best uses of the engine, right up there with Bio Infinite, Arkham City, and Bulletstorm.

I'm just used to so many UE3 console port games that whenever I see a what a PC-centric UE3 game like Hawken can really do I'm impressed.

Long time admirer of this thread but a first time poster.

Here's a couple of shots from an old session with PoP after learning about the wonders of downsampling (thanks to this thread actually).
