I saw some people mentioning being able to watch the video from the xbox dashboard. Where exactly, it is in the "advertisement" listed sections or somewhere else?

It's only available as a 1.42GB download now
Bing search Battlefield 4 -> First result -> extras tab.

...They plan to bring some of the “multiplayer sandbox” gameplay into the singleplayer, where the player can chose how to attack a certain objective... The Bad Company series did a lot better then it came to singleplayer, as players simply got an objective and were tasked to find the solution — they had a choice on how to attack, from what angle etc.

You mean like what a game like GoldenEye: 007 did many many years ago? So after 15 years of backward steps, we're finally making progress again? Cool!

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
Yeah... really negative response to BF3 co-op. People hated that shit. And they were even forced to patch the unlock progression due to the very poor reception.

This time with Battlefield 4, Troedsson says that DICE is taking “signature parts” of the multiplayer and bringing it into singleplayer. They plan to bring some of the “multiplayer sandbox” gameplay into the singleplayer, where the player can chose how to attack a certain objective.

I might be alone, but this kind of makes me miss the Battlefield Modern Combat spin-off they did on PS2/Xbox/360. The character-swapping mechanic was just so novel and interesting to me, I'm not sure that the balance ever worked out but I really enjoyed how it dropped you into multiplayer maps to get acquainted with the gameplay but made a unique single-player experience out of it by making you less the hero and more the all-around commander with some tide-turning choices to make as scripted events happened. I'm not sure Battlefield should go back to that, but personally I'm not satisfied with its current course of trying to out-COD its competition.

I also second a few mentions of Bad Company as the preferred single-player Battlefield experience.

EA & DICE were interested in playing with the series a bit more like they did with NFS for a while there, but I guess there was backlash against burning all these franchises out, which is too bad because outside of the multiplayer, I think I like the experimental off-brand games better than what they're trying to do as their canon products.

Nothing will stop this SP from being utter horseshit as nothing of what we saw from the footage indicates meaningful freedom. The "signature parts" are genuine and unscripted. They happen because the mechanics of the multiplayer are sound.

Well there's the section where you get the option of getting into the VDV Buggy if you want; we don't get to see how wide the playing area is, but as I said if its like the Sangre Del Toro section of BFBC2then that should stop the SP from being utter horseshit.

indeed. i only did co-op for the unlocks/cheevos. some day i will do SP for the cheevos...

yea, kinda like that... some of the BC1 levels were really wide open and you could accomplish the objectives in any order, and even some of the more linear maps were still pretty wide and had so many ways to do things. the AI was pretty bad though.

What I liked from the 17 minute reveal:

Tactics, like spotting (for suppression) and flanking. Open areas. Being able to drive vehicles. Destructibility (hope there's alot of non scripted destructibility).

What I didn't like, and what goes against gaming...is the fact that when the enemy helicopter shows up and the squad starts running, the player takes a few shots at the heli. But they never pull out the grenade launcher to try and attack it. I think it would be much more interesting if you tried to use the grenade launcher and cover while trying to take down the heli, and if you didn't do it in time, then the building would come down. All it took in the end was one shot from the grenade launcher anyways. But the game forces you into a specific path, with scripted sequences and such. Which would be okay, if you didn't have that grenade launcher to start with...

Now that the graphics hype is gone (which wasn't that high for this game, mostly because BF3 on PC looked so good already), demo is boring as fuck and literally nothing about it is impressive as a game.

Worst next gen game reveal ever.

They need to remake the bad company 2 maps in FB3 and retool them for 64 players.

As long as BF4 brings that level of destructibility back into the gameplay

Of course playing games with 200% tickets really seems like the sweet spot in CQ matches to maximize the destruction in BF3

RUSH mode needs to be revamped altogether in BF4. It was really shitty in BF3 and not nearly as fun as what it was in BC1 & 2. They need to allow MCOM damage, make the terrain more geometrically varied and add some bottlenecks to the maps I'll be happy. Firestorm is too open where Siene Crossing is too constrained.

I'd love to play BC2 RUSH again on Arica Harbor, Isla Inocentes, Valprasio, Oasis, Laguna Presa, and Laguna Alta in FROSTBITE 3.

They also need to tone down the ground to air game with Heli's just a little the stingers are just a tad OP when it comes to their range.

All those maps were bad except for Arica Harbor. Small maps meant for 24 players do not make a good game. I would take the BC1 or BF2 maps over that any day.

What the fuck.

No, just no.

Bad company 2 had perhaps the strongest launch maps for a game since Halo 2 (from what I've played).

I'm not saying BC1's maps were bad maps, because they weren't.
