MS marketing director: "We are going to kill Sony at E3!"

I look forward to your conference, MS. I'll be watching mainly to see the "exclusive games" that you will surely demo on stage. If I'm not mistaken though, I think Sony might have some exclusive games as well, no?

No one who is able to translate this? Google translate isn't that accurate. also i will refuse to support drm shit, but there still so many ignorant ms and sony haters out there. I dont get this super hardcore fanboyism from certain people out there. Just get the console and games you want instead of hating and being jealous.

with what MS are doing its not just about the games anymore sorry. If they confirm no DRM i will purchase. If not RIP not happening ever

See this is how you do it MS.

Yosp will never see it coming

Oh look it's that guy who shouts "i'm going to fuck you up" before a fight.
Experienced people know what happens to those guys.

I can only hope they can back up this bigtalking bullshit.

I don't think there's any facts to back it up. It's just what people believe based on the fact that the 360's strongest market by far is the USA, it's doing terrible in Japan, and Sony is apparently on much firmer footing in Europe, although the Xbox 360 supposedly kicks ass in the UK, too. But even if the PS3 did surpass the 360 globally, it's a hollow victory at this point. The xbox brand's significantly enhanced mindshare and popularity has probably provided Microsoft about as much they could have hoped for and then some as far as the 360's success is concerned.

I see. I find it quite interesting since it's basically being stated as facts in alot of threads.

There was a thread some months ago with information that confirmed it...i can't find it though.
That was the second thread btw, there was another one before that but i think it was debunked at that time.

Oh, okey, I think I know which thread you mean then. Still don't think it was properly confirmed though.

Thanks alot guys. Been really wondering.

The only exclusives I see, include Madden and some other EA titles. Perhaps Activision will also do some exclusives.

However, Madden is only big in the US, and most casuals that buy consoles are not aware of which games are supported, until they purchase the thing and find out later. So I don't think 3rd party exclusives from one or two American publishers will have a real impact.

Other people confirmed the traslation before, but if you missed it I can confirm this again.

"We'll kill Sony at E3"
or
"We are going to finish Sony at E3"

No translations errors, just pure arrogance.

Nice, given we know a little about their onslaught which is already impressive I'm ecstatic at their confidence. Bring on e3!!!

I expect Mirror's Edge 2, that Insomniac game that is doing the rumour round, and maybe a next gen version of Fallout 4 or GTAV kind of thing.

As Mass Effect, Bioshock, Episodes from Liberty City and others have taught us, nothing is really "exclusive" in this day and age.

Google translate shows "Let's kill Sony at E3" for me. "Let's" isn't the same as "We'll".

Surely some Spanish speakers here can confirm how the sentence comes across in their language?

Also worth noting that it's been translated twice - from English to Spanish, and back to English. It likely sounds more arrogant than it is due to the context and tone getting lost in translation.

It's really either

Vamos could be "let's" or "we are going to". It'd be strange for him to say "Let's kill Sony at E3" honestly.

wut. you think the only one out of the 3 with more first party offerings/IPs than the others wont show anything compared to the one that for the past 3 years had the least exclusives??

Well, they did show there first party launch line up and it's pretty rich already, even if to me it lacks a real seller. Oh i forgot infamous to. It's probablte any other big ips or big first party dev are more early in their work and won't have something to show.

That's why i hope they at least have some tech demo or early trailer for something from Santa Monica or Naughty Dog.

What i mean is if this is purely showcasing the games we do know, it will be underwhelming. But they HAVE to showcase them, as it's their launch..

Do you know Spanish? Vamos a matar a Sony translates as We are going to kill Sony. Getting owned for the sake of defending a corporation, only in the internet.

I was just not trusting Google Translate and wanted it confirmed. But seems it is, so I look forward to the bloodbath formerly known as E3. I'm still happy with my picture though :)

Edit: Ps. I'm not exactly defending MS am I? Pointing out that the Xbone hate is through the roof (and arguably off the rails) is hardly a controversial statement.

People seem pretty confident that Sony won't be doing something along the same lines. If Microsoft has some kind of unbelievable deals that we know nothing about, and it has anything to do at all with their policies, which publishers may like, then I don't expect Sony to allow it to continue for very long. In fact, if Sony has caught wind of anything at all, you can be sure that they will be taking steps to soften the blow.

Us people that work in marketing have a saying

"Anyone who knows anyone in marketing can tell you that everyone in marketing knows nothing about anything."

MGS5, FFv13, Dark soul 2, Monster Hunter next gen all xbox exclusive
That will kill Sony at e3

Yup moneyhatting as much as possible

If he is talking about games...
Respawn game
Probably EA games
Shenmue 3 (likely multi-plat)
HL3 console exclusive
GTA V
Mostly he is referring to first party games.

Also this is good way of getting attention of gaming market in Spain where Sony dominates.
Sony is in the lead right ?

Xboners will be quiet happy with the statement he made.

This arrogance is on a whole nother level. 3rd console curse.

Yup. Microsoft is in for a very, very nasty surprise. Hopefully they aren't so demoralized by it that this ends up being their last console. I'd like to see the next Xbox after this be as awesome as the PS4 is.

Ok thanks a lot. This is as ignorant as sony back then with their :next gen starts when we say so. Ms now starts the full force destruction of videogamesystems

I remember when GAF said this about Nintendo and the Wii. You can't tell me that you aren't just a little bit excited by Microsoft sounded so defiant and confident before E3. It's damn exciting lol. I just hope they don't end up talking a big game and then underdelivering.

Why is it that people seem to refer back to Sony when the issue of Microsoft and DRM arise? Just because Sony may make anti-consumer choices does not negate what Microsoft is doing.

Edit: Not directed at you Sage, just a general question.

How could I be excited.

So many lies... Power of the cloud. I don't believe one word of it at this point. It's hard to get excited by a company that continuously lies and doesn't even know how to respond to the press.

If I got excited everyttime the big 3 sounds defiant or confident, I would be totally desensitized by now.

Especially when it comes from the mouth of marketing.

I dunno. Mirror's Edge 2, Fallout 4, and Dead Rising 3 doesn't excite me compared to Final Fantasy XV and -

The fact is Sony has been every bit as cryptic and slippery on the subject. The only difference is that the press has given Microsoft a harder time for it and all the rumors that came out mostly targeted Microsoft's console. We still don't know the entire details of what Microsoft will do. We have some solid ideas based on what they've said, but with nothing being finalized, almost any aspect of what we believe now could end up different before long.

And an online check every 24 hours or whatever, from my point of view, makes sense because how else would you prevent 10 different people from installing the same copy of a game and running it off their hard drive? Microsoft's install every game policy actually introduces a new risk to developers that didn't exist on the same level before.

These games need to be protected the same way any major digital purchase might be protected on Steam or on consoles. The difference now is we are talking discs being fully installed on a hard drive and then no longer being needed for the game to be played. Traditional methods of keeping that game from being passed around to countless people are no longer sufficient, as much as I hate to say it.

I hope these exclusives are as fantastic as Lair!

Okay, you owe me a keyboard. :(

I think we are going to need to watch the wording of these e3 conferences, you just have to look at the confusing with the exclusive mode for fifa ultimate team did to some people. I had people saying ultimate team is exclusive but when you listen to his words its an exclusive mode. There will be loads of this on both sides, its all in the wording they make things sound different to what they are and they sucker in people at every e3.

That's fighting talk, boys. Now do they actually have anything to back that up with. I think not but it's going to be an entertaining E3.

The truth

Shenmue 3 exclusivity means the E3 crown forever

Eh, the third game in a series that didn't sell extremely well, when too few people finished the first game and far fewer ever played the second doesn't mean much to me. It was ambitious for it's time but now it just feels like a name and nothing more.

of course I think making Fallout 4 exclusive is fucking huge, so don't mind me.

No the difference is we had different stories from different ms people, thats why they are getting the amount of shit because they fucked it all up. Its not internet vendetta against ms its ms dropping the ball and mixing up the message right left and centre.
