Its a "no reaction" post. One of the "worst games you've played" and "not enjoying" are not quite the same thing.

I think everyone is spending too much time on the numerical review and not enough on the qualitative review.

I don't believe in scores. They should just come up with a single adjective that best describes the game instead of a number.

People wonder why Polygon's review matters...it matters because they're still considered a viable "opinion" by outsiders. Analysts & stock holders will see that and say, "Naughty Dog didn't completely hit this one out of the park". Also, with Polygon's shitty review system here are just a few games that had a better score than Last of Us.

Some of those games are good, some bad, but I guarantee that none of them are as good as The Last of Us.

Absolutely. I expect developers to be specially attached to their work after committing thousands of work hours to release the best game possible. A minor score pointing its failures/defects will undoubtedly affect them. It would affect me for sure. They know though they have to internalize that.

nothing wrong with not liking infinite, I think its overrated. It's great in many regards, but if you think it's the worst game this generation, or it is the worst game you've played this generation. Then you either don't play many games, or you're just trying to get a rise out of some people with your hyperbole.
