I will grant you that, and can see what you are saying. But the real underlying issue with Polygon is that they have rated a game considered to be a masterpiece by most sites a point higher than a game like Fuse (6.5). Their credibility has gone out the window.

Give it time, they can still bump it up if the wind blows right.

It's incredible to think about the partnership Naughty Dog and Sony have had, all the way back to Crash Bandicoot on PS1, to Jak, to Uncharted, culminating in this masterpiece.

This took more time than I thought it would, I kinda regret it.

People wonder why Polygon's review matters...it matters because they're still considered a viable "opinion" by outsiders. Analysts & stock holders will see that and say, "Naughty Dog didn't completely hit this one out of the park". Also, with Polygon's shitty review system here are just a few games that had a better score than Last of Us.

Polygon changed Simcity score like 100 times. Why would they even matter?

I don't mind that Polygon scored it lower persay, the game didn't gel as well for the reviewer obviously... BUT from a technical, sound, and graphic level alone I can't see how it get's anything lower then an 8. Unless this really fuck up towards the end. Though this means that they scored Remember Me (which is a good game imo) better then The Last of Us and that feels odd typing out.

Now I can't care any less about review scores BUT with that 7.5 amidst the higher scores, is there an ulterior motives here? I see people claiming being sponsored by MS/Xbox so is there reason to call bullshit? I mean, can't Naughty Dog investigate, are there laws being broke or is this standard practice?

Like I said, I don't care. I'm all over it. But the claims here make me think something more "dirty" is at play.

There's ALWAYS one website trying to get attention, and this is not a conspiracy theory.

I'm sure Polygon review is the one getting the most clicks, it's just the way it is. Next time we have a new blockbuster, be prepared.

IGN stays unbothered with their mainstream 10/10.

PolySoft with a lower score, what a shock. Those MS checks must be tasty.

Polygon work by the rule of 2.

If they rate a game shit, just add 2 points to what it's really worth. If they rate a game super good, then subtract 2... It levels out if you use this rule.

They way interpreted the Polygon and Gamespot reviews is that they are a bunch of babies who can't handle games that aren't happy.

The Polygon score is probably more about Polygon making a name for themselves as a 'legit' reviewing site, and not dishing out 10s when most others do.

That's fine, but I wouldn't put much weight into it. Their complaints however, may be more significant to some gamers than others - I for one, don't want waves of enemies like Uncharted had, so we'll see.

She hasn't been listed as having a role as far as I know. Neil is the creative director and writer while Bruce (Uncharted 2 director) was the director.
