"Behind closed door" is very common at E3. It Mainly means you need a prior invite/meeting setup to see it on the show floor. Bioshock Infinite was this way, all of Bethesda games are this way. That does not mean we won't see the stuff.

I realize that; but we don't always get to see it until much later after E3. I do enjoy hearing about these sessions during podcasts and such; but would much rather see it for myself

No, I don't. I regret FFXIII-2 was because I imagine it's cutscenes went real-time partially to save on disc capacity for 360, which meant dog shit IQ and performance on PS3, but that's hardly FFXIII's fault.

Haha, I knew you were joking lol. Personally I also had a shock that it would have went multi-platform. This last generation is going to be quite memorable for its ups and downs, that's for sure.

It's amazing that we know so little about this game and yet just this gif conjures up so many emotions. I'm happy to live in a time where this medium can run with the big guys (movies, TV) in storytelling. I'm ready, but in the meantime I will be building a new man cave so my wife can't see me crying when I play this game :P It's inevitable.

Just make another one. Larger threads hit the server harder and of course we want to preserve as much powder as we can.

The more I think about it, the more I think that they might get rid of the numbering system, which I sentimentally don't want them to do.

The problem I could see with that is that they've already got a long established precedent of using subtitles for spinoffs, that usually sell less and numbers for mainline games, that sell better.

Every mainline Final Fantasy has a new setting, world, characters etc. All they need to do is prioritize the release of numbered titles, and let the sequels work around them. One good console title can turn it around.

I don't think a real reboot is required.
 
Wish I had something to keep me busy today, the wait is killing me now.

Here's my dream conference:
- Obligatory sizzle reel
- Opening speech, talk about continued commitment to PS3, highlighting Beyond, GT6, mention of TLoU reviews. Announce price drop to $199
- Unveil PS4 design. Address DRM issue. Keeping the same policy as PS3. Many jabs taken at MS
- Quick overview of the OS. Demo ps eye capabilities
- Live demo of Infamous: second son
- Brief trailers for Knack, Driveclub and KZ: SF. All announced as launch titles
- Vita price drop announced ($199). Talk about how awesome remote play is. Sizzle reel of upcoming games
- Trailer for new vita game from Sony Bend
- 3rd party section. Destiny trailer shown. Something new on Deep Down. FFXV announced as exclusive. Trailer for MGSV. Probably something from Ubisoft (please god don't let them show Watch_Dogs again). Maybe one of those games from Sega.
- New IP from Ready at Dawn trailer
- New IP from SSM trailer
- New IP from Naughty Dog (I liked UC3 but the Uncharted well is dry now imo, new IP would be way more exciting)
- TLG shown, is now for PS4
- 500GB and 1TB PS4 skews announced at $399/499 respectively. Coming this October.
- But wait, one more thing! Rockstar games announce their game for 2014 will be a PS4 exclusive and show a trailer. Could be Agent, could be something else.

They're all pretty realistic predictions I think, but very much doubt all will happen. Only one that's really out there is R* showing up. Supposedly they still owe them an exclusive from when they broke the GTAIV exclusive deal but who knows if that still stands. Would be an insane megaton. Don't know how I've ended up so optimistic, I was feeling very cynical a week ago lol. My only major concerns are that they waste too much time on ps3/vita/ps eye, or demoing games that were announces in February.

I think they should reset the numbers. Anything past 9 or 10 starts to sound ridiculous.
