Prague is like Alps is like Camino: a 'crown jewel' track (Turn 10's words, not mine) to showcase the latest graphical trickery in all its glory.
To be fair I really like Alps and Camino as eye-candy but really enjoy racing on them as well. Prague also looks like good fun but I'm already getting fatigued by it. I hope they show some new tracks soon.
If any tracks get cut I hope Indy is one of them. It's utterly pointless.
No way, that's my home track. Especially since they are including some Indy Cars... why not?
Anyway, honestly, I don't see why they cut out content. It's like when GT cut out tracks. Unless they want a specific standard for all their graphical content, more power to them, but the cars SHOULD hold up going into the next gen.
Hell, the standard cars in GT5, while looking like shit, if you were racing, you can hardly tell the difference because of the lighting. Too many good cars will go missing because of this.
Anyway, also wanted to point this out.
On 5/21, I said this:
It looks great. But here is one thing.
If that lighting is prebaked, you know what that means?
There is no day night cycle, and "night races" (if they are confirmed) are preset.
Everyone gave me hell because I pointed out the prebaked lighting saying it was unfinished, etc.
Surprise surprise, I was right.
They really have no excuse to do it now.
I can understand not having weather, but day/night is really something you should be working on, because that means you have a dynamic lighting engine.
Anyway, at least tracks are scanned now. Hopefully they'll finally dump their highly inaccurate Nurburgring for something that would be considered best in the industry. The only other guys scanning tracks (as far as we know) are the iRacing guys, and they sure as hell don't have Nurburgring yet.
