Though it might just be a figure of speech, I do have 70+ Japan only Vita games on my list and it leaves out some of the really obscure ones. If you add unannounced titles I'd say 100 is hardly an unbelievable number.I'm glad that there will hopefully be more niche Japanese games coming over, but there isn't anything close to 100 Vita titles that are JPN only at the moment. Not even half that.
i'm not really familiar with it, does japan have an indie scene - or are all the "100" games likely to be retail sized?
Ah whoops, I didn't count many of those PSN games. You're right.Though it might just be a figure of speech, I do have 70+ Japan only Vita games on my list and it leaves out some of the really obscure ones. If you add unannounced titles I'd say 100 is hardly an unbelievable number.

Terraria got a retail release in Japan, so "retail sized" is a relative term. And Japan doesn't really have much of console indie scene similar to the west, it's pretty much all on PC, though successful ones will sometimes be picked up by a publisher and ported to consoles (a lot of visual novels take this path).i'm not really familiar with it, does japan have an indie scene - or are all the "100" games likely to be retail sized?
Oh, I can definitely see them taking a chance on the franchises that has a strong fandom already like stuff from Key and Type-Moon, others with existing anime releases.Errr I don't think he visual novels are coming.

In any case, famousmortimer mentioned the next year or two, so the 100 games figure is probably at best an estimate that includes expected future game releases.
Not sure if they're set up to do console retail releases, but it would be interesting to know if they ever investigated self-publishing the games on PSN.I wish JAST could have picked up the PS3/360 and Vita versions of Steins;Gate.
I do like some indie games and Japanese games so I am getting good use from the system. I think I've come to terms with only getting bigger western efforts during the holidays.
As disappointed as I was with AC:L it was more than made up for by NFS last year.
If what you say about the localisations pan out I'll be contented at least.
Still can't believe sony shut Liverpool and zipper, we could have two more quality games in the works.
Anyone in the States looking for a cheap cradle - kmart has them for $5. Yes, I'm aware it's kmart...Godspeed if you decide to go into an actual store.
More localizations for Vita incoming!
So hyped!
HALP.
I swear these 18/20 hands washed in a single wave challenges in Men's Room Mayhem are impossible. I've found what ps3t considers a strategy and it's lies and BS. It simply doesn't work.
I wish someone could clarify what the hold-up is with PSO2 (especially on PC). It's completely bonkers that Sega's remained silent this long after already announcing the localization.
I've heard that it's totally playable without buying into the whole microtransactions business. Is Sega finding a way to make it more IAP-dependent or something?
I actually have not played it, so I cant be of any help. Is it any fun though, because it looked like it could be a decent time waster, but never pulled the trigger. I am really looking forward to their next game though (stick it to the man) looks funny, and creative imo.
Im kind of hoping this rumor http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=571429&page=100000 turns out to be true. Im a pretty big fan of Rainbow Six, and it feels like so long since the last one, if its true I hope Ubi puts alittle more into it than ACL.
Probably a combination of less competition, a hungrier userbase, and higher royalty/publishing costs. Why is Limbo so much cheaper on the new iOS release than it is on Vita? Physical controls don't seem to be an excuse, since people say it controls like a dream with touch...
I know it's cross buy too...I just wish they could bring it down to $10.Probably a combination of less competition, a hungrier userbase, and higher royalty/publishing costs.

Was something announced, or are you going off of the rumor? If its the rumor, I would wait until we get solid confirmation. Im sure he has heard this as happening, but we dont want to get peoples hopes up too soon, only to find out its not true, and everyone decideds to attack him.
What's this rumor? I NEED TO KNOW.
Absolutely. I think there is a genuine beef to be had with first party. It's sony's system, they need to increase the base and make the software that will do it.
I don't think blaming third party guys like Boyes or Shahid is on the mark though. Those guys are trying. But like I said before, math is math.
There are going to be a lot more localizations coming from Japan in the next year or two though. Sony is creating more internal localization teams to start bringing over the best of the 100 or so vita games out in japan that aren't out in EU/NA.
I like indies and I like japanese games so I'm satisfied... and I think the vita will live a long, niche life. But it's clear to me that Sony is hedging their bets and aren't investing heavily in the vita because they're afraid if they do and it doesn't take off that it's just pissing away money.
I genuinely feel bad for the folks who don't like indie games or japanese games. People who bought the vita at launch for Uncharted and Wipeout. We will get more games like that... but at such a slow trickle. It really was bait and switch. I don't think it was on purpose - i think they really thought the whole "console games in your pocket" thing was going to take off. But it didn't. The big winners from year one were Mutant Blobs Attack and Escape Plan... not Uncharted or Call of Duty.
Am I foolish for hoping that Spelunky will be out this week and not later in the month?
Is NGS+ worth pickng up? All this talk about the camera and framerate is putting me off. I know its free but i have a 4GB memory card and a bandwith cap.
I'm done with Soul Sacrifice- diff lvl 9-10 requires way too much grinding for sigils. Good thing story mode didn't require finishing those.
Overall I'd rate it as 8,5 game. Nicely created game, very good story mode, in minus grind in later parts and idiotic teamates. Also they need to rethink sacrafice vs save mechanism - going into chaos side was much easier and offered more rewards and higher scores while save was only giving worthless cannon fodder companions.

Well i was referring to famousmortimer rumor that says that sony is planning to localize lots of japanese games. This one has chance if Demon Gaze sells well enough
Online games PSO2 require complex server infrastructure and constant coordination with Japan for updates and new content, so they're not really suitable for this kind of initiative. If it's coming over, Sega needs to do that one itself.OMG OMG OMG don't tell me there's a chance of localization for true night of the kamaitachi?!?!?!?!?
Other than senran kagura, tales games, pso2 etc there are many overlooked japanese games that could be interesting:
...should probably repeat his request that we don't draw too much attention to it outside this thread.Well i was referring to famousmortimer rumor that says that sony is planning to localize lots of japanese games.
