Oh, you're right actually.

As a whole, SLR2 is alright, but I do prefer the first. If it's true that he wrote that all in just two hours then more power to him.

My hopes for a top tier Lupe album is gone, but the old school Lupe stan in me has a tiny bit of hope. F&LII was at least 50% good; it's miles ahead of Lasers but that isn't saying much at all.

I just wish that Lupe would get rid of the air of pretentiousness that he has built up over the years after The Cool.

Kendrick laid a hot verse, but made it blow up by naming names of colleagues and a friendly challenge; because it's a competition. He also used a kurrupt line stating he's the king of New York. Internet goes crazy saying everyone named already lost and everyone not named doesn't matter. Rappers get blown up by fans asking for responses, some do, and then gaf decides they already took L's for responding because they didn't get Kendrick's point and battle rapping isn't part of competitive hip hop, I guess.

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying some good verses and hoping some people have awaken from their slumber.

And Kendrick now not only has GKMC to live up to, but this verse as well for his "sophomore" effort.

That's a check if I've ever seen one though. Joey trying to say that lyrically Kendrick isn't on his level, let alone Biggie's, so it's an overstep to claim KONY. I mean the shots Budden took at the other dudes is pointing out that, yeah, Kendrick is hotter than those dudes but not on the lyrical level to surpass Biggie.

But you're right in that I've never seen Budden speak to others claiming that.. but I honestly can't recall anyone claiming that since Biggie passed. The new gen certainly hasn't claimed it and I don't recall any of Biggie's contemporaries claiming it. Maybe Jay at some point though? I'm not sure.
