I'll buy that Drake got him on Fuckin Problems, but Kendrick won on Poetic Justice and Kendrick has the best verse on Drake's whole album.

I agree that Drake is probably a more versatile artist and he has many more quotables (You can't go ten minutes without someone reciting a Drake line), but Kendrick has more technical ability (flow, rhyme schemes, etc..)

Drake kinda phoned it in on Poetic Justice but Kendricks verse was terrible. You really liked that?

Drake never got Kendrick on a track and Take Care was nowhere near as good as GKMC. What the fuck at this thread. Take Care wasn't even as good as Section 80.

I'm a huuuuge Drake fan, but both Section.80 and GKMC are better than what Drake has released - let's be fair

And that Papoose shits on Kendrick after what he did for him is just saaaaaaaaad

Kendrick's verse was nice but some people going on like it was some next level shit. Like it was canibus on 'beasts from the east'.

Not even close to that level!!

Ultimately I think this week has proven that the verse won't really have an impact. Kendrick challenged people to step their craft up, not to write basic responses. Remember when GKMC came out and people were like "oh man, the game has been changed. Now everybody gotta put time and effort into their albums!" Well that didn't happen. Cole, ASAP, Jay, Wale, etc all released average or straight up bad albums after that.

The next test will be when we hear a new Khaled song, and the Drake/Ross/Wayne verses all bleed together. Nobody tries to "kill" the next guy on a song anymore outside of Control, and I don't see that changing.

Kendrick laid a hot verse, but made it blow up by naming names of colleagues and a friendly challenge; because it's a competition. He also used a kurrupt line stating he's the king of New York. Internet goes crazy saying everyone named already lost and everyone not named doesn't matter. Rappers get blown up by fans asking for responses, some do, and then gaf decides they already took L's for responding because they didn't get Kendrick's point and battle rapping isn't part of competitive hip hop, I guess.

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying some good verses and hoping some people have awaken from their slumber.

And Kendrick now not only has GKMC to live up to, but this verse as well for his "sophomore" effort.

GKMC was his sophmore effort.

I haven't kept up with today's hip hop sex rumors, but I remember the one about Foxy Brown blowing the whole Wu-Tang Clan and having to go get her stomach pumped.

You mean Lil' Kim blowing Junior Mafia.

Wait, I think you mean Elton John blowing Duran Duran.

All variations on the cheerleader blows the football team. There's no merit to it.

It's a sound alike. He's trying to use Em's old flow in order to make it more believable. Even uses a few words and phrases that Em used in old freestyles. It's a decent mimic except he's too choppy in the delivery. Comments say it's some dude named Denace. Looked him up and that's probably exactly who it is.

All this hype over a Kurupt bit line...

do people even realize thats all Kdot did he bit a line from one of his peers

It's not a bite if you shout the person out in the verse, which is what Kendrick did. Unlike say, Jay-Z, passing off Biggie lines like they're his.
