Adam Sessler"Titan Fall one of the Most Enjoyable things I've played at a Convention"

Do you not have the option to self-publish, though? 38 Studios did so on Steam with Kingdoms of Amalur and they were also a part of the EA Partners program. Just wondering.

We, as Respawn, are the owner and developer of Titanfall while EA is the publisher. Thats the extent of what I know.

What people need to realize is that every single EAP set up is different from the next. What EA and Insomniac had for Fuse was most likely very different than what they did with Epic/Bulletstorm, or Crytek/Crysis, and now Respawn/Titanfall.

Source engine. You can't polish a turd.

This isn't even worth bringing up. It's running on a heavily modified version, for one. Nine times out of ten the engine doesn't matter, it's what you do with it. Hell, Splinter Cell Blacklist is running on a modified version of Unreal 2.5...

Another Titanfall thread ruined by people jealous its not coming to their console of choice. SHOCKING. Don't give me that its coming a year later BS either. No one gives a shit about a year later.

im tired of this BS seriously, anyone who wants to discuss of this game on any form its labelled as a ps4 or pc fanboy and a one hater

Thanks for the info! Hopefully you guys have as much freedom and wiggle room as EA allows in that program.

It's a sign that you should probably try posting something worth responding intelligently to.

I'm getting Xbox and I still think Titanfall isn't some mega title people keep trying to make it to be. Especially with no single player.

Relax.

I have already purchased in full both next gen consoles, own a high end gaming PC, and a 360. (Along with a Vita, 3DS, Wii, etc)

I can buy Titanfall on whatever platform it is released.

That said, yes, with this game, a year later is still important. Especially if this is the kind of big impact, long term franchise, genre defining experience that Respawn and gamers are hoping it to be.

I will probably buy this at launch on my Xbox One or PC, but I am most excited for the PS4 version for the likely enhancements, encompassing DLC, and most importantly, playing with all my real life friends who have gone from 360 only gamers to PS4 only gamers.

Do people think we're spending lots of money on marketing?

There is a common suggestion on GAF that all EA partners games fail because EA deliberately choose not to market them and as a result they all perform poorly.

I don't believe that myself and Titanfall sounds like one of those games that everyone involved has a lot riding on. I can imagine there is a level of expectation for the title to perform well commercially as well as critically.

All eyes are on Respawn :)

x-post from other Titanfall thread.

I played this yesterday. There are some cool things that a genuinely worth getting hyped about, but one thing that really bothered me that I don't think I've seen anyone talk about is the bot/player mix.

Right now as far as I could tell, the COD-style radar only shows player characters, but there are still a shit-ton of bots running around. It creates a weird player experience where encounters with enemies will be like, really stupid bot, really stupid bot, really stupid bot, OH SHIT A REAL PERSON, really stupid bot. It's a little jarring.

Didn't see a lot of close games (including mine) while waiting in line, seemed mostly like people getting steamrolled. Not sure if that means the game can just snowball quickly or what.

If you die while your Titan is ready you have the option to spawn in it next life.

Sessler has become a microsoft fanboy, just look at his youtube channel in the past 7 months. Everything is a spin for microsoft. E3 was the biggest joke, he said everyone who wants a ps4 just wait microsoft has some good ideas. Then doing the gamescon ps4 presser he tweeted "no mention of gaikai" really? they said expect it next year. He just had to bring something negative to sony. I have no respect for someone who is probably getting paid by a company. He even went on that microsoft trip I saw him tweeting about. I see no Sony or Nintendo spins from him thus I unfollow. What a weird thing that his number one game is Titanfall which is an xbox one exclusive for consoles. He has turned into Major Nelson jr.

lol. OK.
Reminds me of this.

Good to see things haven't changed at all.

I've just seen TitanFall at PAX.

Remember when Respawn Entertainment was created and we all were hoping their first game would be awesome?

Mission Complete.
beyond my wildest expectations.

And I don't even PLAY CoD.

The gameplay looks so awesome that you don't even CARE that the graphics could be improved upon. They basically took CoD graphics, made the map 5 times bigger and boosted everybody's speed to 11. Oh, and Giant robots.

Titanfall will no doubt be a big title, but sometimes I do wonder if the hype isn't entirely genuine. I mean this game is being pushed hardcore. Still though, it it turns out good I'll probably end up getting it.

Was there a meeting yesterday? I'm seeing a hell of a lot of posts in various threads saying Adam Sessler is an Xbox Fanboy.

I wouldn't say he is an Xbox fanboy, but he's always leaned more in its favor. He doesn't really have anything against Sony though.

I still think he's a Nintendo hater though. I still think he's not a big fan of Nintendo (as much as MS and Sony anyway). He's always been especially hard on Nintendo.

Again with this... Where were those type of post when TLOU(replace buy any big superhyped game) was being praised as the best thing since the beggining of times?

"Everybody like this game so much, something must be wrong!"

Come on.

Exactly.

Manufactured?

And to those who might easily confuse, I'm not saying that TitanFall will play like TLOU, or will have any kind of character or narrative focus. I'm wondering why near universal praise by the gaming press for TLOU isn't as worthy of doubt (on page after page after page) as TitanFall.

All this talk is doing is insulting the very people on this forum who are excited for this game, by accusing them of perpetuating false hype or having an agenda, or simply following production values wherever they lead, like sheep.

I think TLOU (and Uncharted, but eh) suffers from the same thing, especially on GAF.

The people who don't like multiplayer-only are experiencing cognitive dissonance when it comes to Titanfall's great press. They can either change their opinion of multiplayer-only or they can ignore/doubt the Titanfall press. Which do you think is more likely to happen?

I'd be very interested in knowing how DKo5/Respawn in general feels about the accusations of manufactured hype being made by a growing number of people.

I don't like multiplayer only, don't like competitive, and don't like the next Xbox, but hot damn I can recognize what looks like seriously fun times. But I do love Tribes, mechs (agile ones), jetpacks, double-jumps, high speed traversal and verticality, 60fps, Infinity Ward (pre-talent-drain) and having some context, even if slight, to matches rather than just dropping people into a meatgrinder to randomly run in circles and kill each other in endless repetition. I also think I'd rather face mechs in combat rather than Halo or Battlefield vehicles.

They dont care. They know it's legit. I know it's legit because people are praising it after actually playing the game and not just saying it's great based off a video.

The game is generating it's own interest now thanks to word of mouth about how fun awesome it is.

I'm glad it's being hyped. Good games deserve to be hyped

Nope. Because it is missing key part - single player story mode.

I don't think people who buy shooters really care about singe player. The multiplayer alone looks absolutely brilliant and I think that will be enough, plus Microsoft will be marketing the game in a massive way.

I think it would be a genius move if MS and Respawn did an exclusive X1 beta early next year. Generate word of mouth from the start.

FPS are my most played genre and I'm not much of a multiplayer guy.

It's coming out on PC? Because I see about 8 threads a second from everyone about how they're going to make a new PC instead of next gen consoles, so I imagine that can't be why.

Now this I don't agree with. You vastly overestimate the importance of single-player in MP-focused shooters in this day in age.

For example, the majority of people didn't even touch the single-player in Halo 3 and the CoD games, let alone actually complete it. Probably the same for BF3 (I never finished the single-player).

Mass Effect, i forgot to add "In my opinion" to my previous post.

FPS are my most played genre and I'm not much of a multiplayer guy.

Yeah, same for me. I always complete single player campaign (on hard) first and they dive into multiplayer. Only exception was Quake 2, but that was because local clan needed players and I joined on the first day. Those were the days....

Plenty do. Plenty don't. Thats way too broad a generalization.

IMO 25m people are not buying Cod for the story. They're buying for the multiplayer so they can play with thier friends.

I don't think they're interested in whether Price can stop the evil Russians from taking over the world.

Bolded the important part.

If what you say was true then we wouldn't have single player campaigns in COD. Thats a whole lot of work being done for an audience that you don't seem to think exists. And as one of that audience, who has played the premiere single player campaigns of COD since COD1, I don't really enjoy having my preferences marginalized because the fourth game in the series hit it big with the multiplayer community. But it seems to happen in every shooter thread.

Wow man you need to calm down.

Didn't mean for the tone to come across that way, which I'm sure Kade could say the same.

If you're also referencing your previous post I responded to, I wasn't picking it out. In fact, you're one of the few who actually stated exactly why it wasn't your type a game and understood that it wasn't. I just wanted to highlight that this nonsense surrounding the game comes down to people taking their opinions as facts.
