Adam Sessler"Titan Fall one of the Most Enjoyable things I've played at a Convention"

Was there a meeting yesterday? I'm seeing a hell of a lot of posts in various threads saying Adam Sessler is an Xbox Fanboy.

Game looks more fun every time I see it. Still a very wait-and-see title for me though. I want to read impressions after people have played it for a month or so. I'm concerned about balance and community issues.

Like "next-gen" visuals. Is it simply more post-processing effects or do you design your character to be more lifelike from the ground up along with physics within the environment?

no seriously one of the things i found amusing is this claim..i dont see anything what cant be done on xbox or ps3 (minus the graphics) and there is a 360 version of this game, for me next gen gaming its the things you can do on the next everquest ( if you want a example)

you cant destroy the scenery, the size of the maps and the teams are normal, etc, etc

It's the only title doing something different though. Everything else is just improved visuals. I bet the 360 version will be pretty gimped.

Sessler has become a microsoft fanboy, just look at his youtube channel in the past 7 months. Everything is a spin for microsoft. E3 was the biggest joke, he said everyone who wants a ps4 just wait microsoft has some good ideas. Then doing the gamescon ps4 presser he tweeted "no mention of gaikai" really? they said expect it next year. He just had to bring something negative to sony. I have no respect for someone who is probably getting paid by a company. He even went on that microsoft trip I saw him tweeting about. I see no Sony or Nintendo spins from him thus I unfollow. What a weird thing that his number one game is Titanfall which is an xbox one exclusive for consoles. He has turned into Major Nelson jr.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice this.

Take a long hard look at GAF, all eyes are on Xbox One followed by hatred/indifference/joy for the console. It's all people are talking about. You'll notice most threads are about the console.. trolling or otherwise.

Are you 12? Honestly. Some day you'll come to the realization that people don't just magically 'become' things. Sessler has been doing this for a long time, and I've never seen him do anything that makes me suspicious of his motivations. If he's up on Microsoft, he's earned the benefit of the doubt that it's his honest impressions.

Maybe ill finally cave by the time this comes out and have a Xbox one. I'd really rather avoid supporting Microsoft right now though, looks like some ridiculous fun though. Here's to hoping for a kinect less sku when this comes out

Another Titanfall thread ruined by people jealous its not coming to their console of choice. SHOCKING. Don't give me that its coming a year later BS either. No one gives a shit about a year later.

That would be pretty sad for a multiplayer game. I've seen PC MP games be in beta longer than that.

sarcasm right?

glad he is excited about it. the man shows so much passion for gaming. love checking his stuff.

Game looks fun as hell. This and KZ will be my FPS

I think you've confused XBone threads with Nintendo threads in general.

Anyways, who cares what Sessler's motivations are? If he likes it, great. If he's a shill, who cares? He's one guy who has an opinion. Let's just wait and see how the game turns out on release then decide from there.

Adam likes video games and knows them very well, watch any of his reviews and he is not some paid shill or fanboy. I think some of his reviews can sound pretentious at times (for example the adjectives used the TLOU review), but his opinion is genuine. It's amazing that there is a legitimate huge positive reaction to this game from tons of people, yet some can't accept that. I wonder how those same people would feel if it was an exclusive to their system of choice?

I am not a fan of most FPS games, and can't stand online multiplayer, even I think this looks brilliant. I love just how dynamic and seamless everything is. Looks like a lot of fun.

I've listened to his "soapboxes" and "somethings" over the years, and my main impression is that Sessler enjoys layers and complexity in how he and his viewers look at their hobby. Think of him more as a chronic devil's advocate, than anything. With the gaming community's hysterical echo chamber against one console that hadn't yet launched, it seems to me he'd prefer the field be more balanced simply because its more interesting and rich for our hobby that way.

Source engine. You can't polish a turd.

Source engine is really dated but it's by far the most responsive engine out there. It has a snappy feel to it that some other engines don't have, which is the most important thing to me when talking about an MP game.

On one hand it does look kind of fun to me but on the other I had always hoped call of duty would always scale back to the good old days meanwhile this looks like call of duty dialed up to 1000 to me. So it's probably not my thing.

I've been ignoring Titanfall since in screens it looks so grey and generic, but when the Sess speaks, I listen, and wow, this game looks like a lot of fun. Almost Warhawk-ian in its variety of approach.

Can you please confirm if Respawn own the IP? There seemed to be some confusion in this or the other thread. I recall seeing a confirmation about this on twitter after the reveal, but can't find the tweet.

There is no confusion, what so ever. If anyone says differently, it is purely misinformation.

Respawn wholly owns the IP, Titanfall is being published under EA Partners, which allows the developers to control the IP and self-publish if they choose.

EDIT: Beaten by Respawn

I wonder if people still believe EA don't spend marketing money on EA partners titles?

Choosing self-publishing would negate us using EA to publish though, right?

Just to make sure its clear - Respawn owns the Titanfall IP, but EA has the rights to publishing the game. This isn't any admission to anything (because, to be completely honest, we've got our hands more than full just making this game) but if someone decided to make a Titanfall saturday morning cartoon and wristwatch tie-in - it would be Respawn that decides to do it and allow it to happen.

Do people think we're spending lots of money on marketing?

By self-publishing, I was referring to the ability for most EA Partners titles to publish on other distribution outlets if they so desire (see: Steam).

I am not implying that I have any idea what Respawn's contract with EA stipulates, just stating historical precedent set by past EA Partners titles.

Do people think we're spending lots of money on marketing?

Seems like almost entirely word of mouth so far.
now Adam is being called a paid shill, wtf is going on.....

GAF has crazies that slip through the cracks just like everywhere else. We just have significantly less.

Do you not have the option to self-publish, though? 38 Studios did so on Steam with Kingdoms of Amalur and they were also a part of the EA Partners program. Just wondering.
