I'm the same way, mostly. I even have a fight stick, but I get desperate and end up either mashing or doing the same combo over and over.
They have a high learning curve. It's the kind of genre (like RTS's and whatnot) that take a good deal of pushing to really get into.
I don't have one, I barely play them to make that kind of investment.
They require ability and memory, which I don't really have for a videogame (I'm so bad at videogames, even though I've been playing them since I was 4). I still love them, specially when they include enough single player content (like Smash Bros. and Dead or Alive before 5)
Ah, yeah, makes sense. I was given mine by a friend, so I didn't really think about the investment factor of it all.
It's pretty nice, though. I can play arcade games with it, too.
I don't have any fighting games on consoles anyway (I don't have any of the HD twins), but next generation I'm planing on going back to them if I ever get a PS4.
Right now my priority is the Project X Zone, the game wasn't doing anything to me and 10 chapters in and I'm enjoying it more.

The demo convinced me to try it.
Fortunately for me (and my wallet) the game clicked with me. I like it, though it is not as good as Fire Emblem Awakening in the genre on 3DS

I hate button mashing in fighting games, it's like I feel I wasted my money by not trying to learn a few moves and combos but that's just me.
I don't mash, but I'm not really good at fighting games (even though I love them). In a tutorial I can pull off combos that the game expect me to do, but during a real fight - nope; it's always some basic special moves and maybe, maybe a simple 3-4 input combo. And for some reason I jump a lot. A lot :|
Same with stylish action games. I almost managed to beat DMC3 on DMD (fuck you 3rd Vergil fight) but my fight style was far from being stylish.

Are these DLC costumes? I played the game on PS3 (only briefly though) and I was intently searching for fan service (virtually checked every costume version for every male character) and don't remember anything that good.
Yeah, they are DLC. Most of them from the "Fighter Pack" to be exact.
IIRC, in DO5 Ultimate they aren't DLC anymore, but you have to play all the modes with the character.
Worth it
Not sure, DLC costumes are such BS.

Pretty sure he means playing to unlock the outfits (at least I hope so). Luckily, the only DLC outfits the dudes have are some awful Santa Claus ones.
I actually checked the PSN Store today and you can get 81 costumes for $39.99... that's the price of the game. It's ridiculous.

I bought the Vita version so I got some free ones, nothing too exciting for either gender of character, though.
Most of the DLC are swimsuits/"sexy" outfits for the gals, though. This one isn't too bad, though.
Better than a hat, in a free game, costing the same

One time my friend wore his boxers to this small mini market near his house lol. I had spent the night there and woke up the next day hungry, except there was nothing in the fridge/house. It was early and I guess he couldn't be bothered haha (and it was only like 200ft). He insisted they were shorts, but he wasn't fooling anyone +_+
I work for a pizza chain mostly doing deliveries and a (really hot guy as well) opened the door in only his boxers. I somehow managed to hold a short conversation, but it was a nice way to start the day.

Went to the mall earlier today. Bought something at the hardware store. When I was exiting the store, there was this really cute/hot guy checking the receipts/bags (I live in Venezuela so that's pretty usual here). I looked at him straight in the eye and thanked him (they use to say thanks for your purchase or something). And he stared back at me. As I walked away I turned my head back like 3 times and he was still checking me out. I laughed/smiled trying him to notice (that I thought he was cute as well).
Then I thought I HAVE TO GIVE HIM MY NUMBER!!!! which is something I've never done. But I didn't have a pen with me or anything. After walking a bit around and asking someone for a pen I wrote down my name and number in a piece of paper. I wasn't sure if I'd have the guts to actually do it but decided to go back to the store. He wasn't there anymore. I looked around to see if he was still around and I think I might have seen him but I'm not 100% sure it was him. I believe it might have been just another cute/hot boy. That's really lame and confusing but I only saw the guy for a few seconds... This guy didn't even seem to notice me so I'm going with NOT HIM (he seemed to be busy, talking with other workmates and stuff, maybe it was that).
I'm definitely coming back sometime soon to that store and maybe try my luck again.

I thought it was quite silly of me to get "excited" about it, they probably see/check out a lot of hot guys everyday, so I shouldn't feel special

Holy shit Dead or Alive is not for me at all, it just feels like a game of button mashing and who can corner who.
Unlocking it.
Play the tutorial and you'll see it aint button smashy as you see. You can counter people easily for playing Smashy and you can set them for real damage if you do proper hits to them.

Played for 3 hours today, most of the time I can win a few matches online in most games by now but it's a no go with this game :c
I do too but it's almost impossible to find. I always just stumble upon the same videos. It's a shame really. If I ever had a boyfriend I would love doing that.
