With hints of other GTAV SKUs, will you be strong enough to wait?

If I were a real GTA fanatic, I might consider waiting for the superior version. We've all been spoiled by the 60fps a decent pc can offer over these old boxes of crap. However, San Andreas on PS2 was still awesome, in spite of the frame rate. Therefore, 360 GTA V it is.
Au contraire, mon frère. If you're a GTA fanatic, you'll get the game as quickly as possible in whatever form it is available!

Hell, I'd play it on GameCube if that's where it released first.

His sentiment is what I dislike about gamers. Rockstar is purposely holding back one version of the game to make people buy it more than once. I hate such tactics and I dislike it when people willingly give in to this crap.

How often does this happen? Rockstar has always had the PC version come out around half a year later but in general the PC version of a game is day and day with the console versions or at most a few weeks after and that tends to be Ubisoft who has stopped that practice recently. Of course, the PC has recently started getting ports of older console titles(Mortal Kombat, Castlevania) but that hardly seems to be out of greed.

Considering there will be GOTY edition with all dlc, I'll gladly wait.

Most likely it will come out before the DLC is released. Going by historical precedent set by GTAIV.

Then when the DLC is, inevitably, released it will be available day one on the PC version and at full price.

Wasnt so eager getting it on current gen because of the IQ and performance. Will wait for PC or PS4. Its still GTA after all, so not a big deal.

I just laugh at these people that want to wait to play this game. Like better graphics is going to make it a better game... The best experience is being part of the release and playing with friends that are all experiencing the world for the first time, too.

I guess I understand why you would want to, PC elitist are like that, but to me- it's just crazy talk. There's no way I would miss a GTA launch.

Also, if I were mainly a PC gamer, there are many games I would wait on, because they don't deliver the same experience a GTA would. I would wait for those games. But I don't care what system GTA is on, if its coming out, I'm playing it ASAP.

This post lol.

There is no announced exclusivity deal(it was a massive deal for the 360 at the time) for DLC so it will come to all platforms at the same time. GTAIV came out on PC around 5 months before the Lost and the Damned came out so I'm not really sure what the alternative would be. Also came out at 50 dollars instead of 60 which is to be expected.

Edit: Looked it up and it was only 3 months before the dlc released on the 360 but it didn't come out on the PC or 360 for another year and a bit. That won't be a thing this time around thankfully for whatever dlc is planned.

I've played all of the GTA games on PC only. Waiting for me will be easy peasy. I'm still waiting on the PC version of RDR, in fact.

Don't cry for me.

Waiting for PC, too much to play as is, no point in suffering some stuttering, sub-HD version for no reason when I dont have to as it'd go straight onto the backlog pile.

That's where I'm at. Everyone is fiending over this game like they'd sell their mother for it and I'm sitting here with like 200 unplayed games.

Don't think I could be bothered waiting. At the end of the day waiting a year or so down the line won't really matter as the game animations etc. will feel dated anyway. I guess the mods may be worth waiting for but it's not even confirmed for the platform...

Curious to see if anyone will wait for any of the next gen/PC versions of the game and go into with fresh eyes on better hardware.

If other SKUs do exist it makes sense to release before the holiday season, right? However, since there has been no announcements, could Rockstar wait until next year, an unbearable wait for many!

Rockstar does its own thing, however, they can easily announce next gen version later this year, so sales of the currently known SKUs are not affected.

But other than the code details, there has been no inventory database or ratings leaks, usually barometers of release.

My prediction is next year. Can you wait?

I was always going to wait. My feeling was if it made its way to PS4 I would pick it up. If not - I don't play it. Not that keen on it TBH.

If I had to finish my backlog before playing GTA5, I'd never get to play GTA5.

This bad boy gets some velvet-rope, straight-to-the-VIP-lounge treatment.

I don't even own a ps360, so if it comes out on PS4 I will probably buy it on that (if I get a PS4).

That all depends if GTA V gets enough 11/10's of course.

Double Dipping. PS3 then Upgrade to PC.

Would love to wait, just like I'd love to wait on disgaea games to come to handheld but its never gonna happen.

I'm in no rush; I'll snag it on sale on either PC or PS4 at some point. I'm not really a fan of the way they encourage people to double dip.

I've been pretty impressed with what footage of V I've seen. The writing seems much improved over that of IV, and that for me was the main concern. However with that in mind, I'm happy to wait for the PC version as and when it arrives.

I bought gta 4 on release for ps3 and liked it but at the same time thought how awesome it would be at 60 fps.
And when I finaly tried it on pc there was no turning back. So I'll have to wait for either pc or ps4 version.

To me, the GTA series is like that hot girlfriend who lets you do all sorts of freaky shit and wants sex all the time. She also fucks your friends behind your back. I have so much fun with these games but the jank and some of the design decisions piss me off so much sometimes that I'll just reach a boiling point during a session and just quit and not touch the games for a few weeks in disgust.

Then the sweet siren of causing mayhem and running over pedestrians or kicking folks down stairs to watch the brutal animations calls me and I get back into it and then start having fun playing the damn games again. Knowing what's in store for me personally, I can wait although it does look like they improved a lot of things in GTAV.

However, I just started seeing TV commercials for GTAV while watching football this weekend and I want to play that silky smooth, non jaggy 60fps version of the game. That version looks like it will both look and play beautifully compared to the experience I had initially playing GTAIV on 360 and having my eyes assaulted by the blur, shimmering, popups, and wildly fluctuating framerate.

I'm sorry but if I have the choice I'd rather wait for the possibility of experiencing the game in the best light possible. If I have to wait, so be it. If it doesn't come to be, I got other shit to play. It would be like watching a really great movie on a shitty 100MB downloaded cam version with the camera tilting, people walking past the screen, and fucked up audio when there is the possibility of the Bluray coming out down the line with pristine 1080p visuals in the correct aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master surround sound.

I'm waiting for the PC version unless a b2g1 free sale happen then I'll pick it up with all the other titles I'm getting this year.

Staying strong, brothers and sisters?

I'm fine. After hearing about all the freezing, the wait is getting easier. Can't wait for dat optimized PS4 version.

I'm waiting because I want to finish some games from my backlog and since I won't be able to carry my games from PS3 to PS4, I'm avoiding unless there are exclusives. Plus, console games are really expensive here and I've been preparing to get GTA V for PC since the start. I'll take my time, no rush.
