Mini-Pokemon news: LONG NECK VS T-REX (Amaura and Tyrunt evo)

Charizard is perfectly fine with its actual height. That is why Game Freak didn't fix it.

That's fucking complete horseshit.

Do you have ANY idea how short 5'7" is?! Have you seen a person that tall? And you think a Charizard with it's design matches that height "perfectly fine"?

What in the fuck?

My favorite Fossil Pokemon is the Lilleep/Cradilly line, even thought they're often forgotten because they're not a creature most people recognize, I find them pretty neat looking. I've never used them in battle though.

My favorite Fossil Pokemon, battling wise, is Carracosta. Sure, it's nothing special or that unique, another Water/Rock, sea turtle, but I really like using him regardless, he's got a simplistic yet powerful design imo.
I liked Carracosta a lot. Wasn't keen on Gen 3/Gen 4's fossil pokes but its better than Gen 2's non-existent ones. Gen 6 is the first fossil pokes to knock it out of the park like Gen 1 did with theirs imo. Gen 5 was such a bipolar gen in general with having my absolute favorite and absolute hated poke designs in one gen. Gen 4 was a massive snorefest.

Pokémon is for kids, man. 5'7" is huge when you're 10 yrs old.

I'm 5'9" and I'm considered short by almost every other guy I know. I'm hoping Aurorus is actually pretty large, but I doubt it'll happen. I can actually see Tyrantrum being pretty short though. His pre evolution is named Tyrunt after all...

EDIT: Apparently he's not short... cool. Hey Joe, how large is Aurorus?

2.7m for Aurorus

I just learned that Carracosta is only 3'11'' despite being based on Archelon, a sea turtle the size of a car and Alomomola is only 70 pounds despite being based on an animal that weighs over 2000.

Gamefreak's measurements are weird.

That brings up a serious point.

How come Game Freak hasn't fixed the obviously fucktarded height/weight system.

Wailord weighing only 800lbs?!

Even someone with remote knowledge of zoology should laugh at the sheer audacity of writing something so factually stupid.
Wailord is based on a blimp, so its light weight makes a bit of sense.

A better question is how the 30 foot long tube of super-compressed steel weighs only 900 pounds.

What's Tyrantrum's and Aurorus's Japanese name?

Charizard isn't meant to be big. The biggest starter Pokemon in Kanto is Venusaur for instance, yet people like to draw it tiny. Childhood perceptions, etc.

Yay thanks!

And as expected, it seems like people have envisioned sizes even before seeing the official sizes, that they like to force what they think is "right".

Nidoking/Nidoqueen for instance are only 4 feet at most, but people seem to think they're gigantic. However, they forget that they're roughly based on rabbits.

I think anyone with remote knowledge of zoology would laugh at trying to equate pokemon to real world animals. :p

Why? people apply real world science to all types of fiction, I think it would be interesting if some one had a sit down with gamfreak and told em to stap and let the science guy in the department do the pokedex entries.

I don't like when Pokémon are too big, so it pleases me that things like Charizard are barely taller than me. I also always find weird how tall a Feraligatr is.

.
What is this lame mess.

Oh, that's pretty sweet. I wonder how the other status problems (burns, paralysis etc...) will look.

I wonder when the western website will be update, though. First time the Japanese one is updated first, I believe.

I've no idea why everyone speaks of Pokédex sizes as if they are the beginning and the end of it all. Do all animals have the same size? Nope. I don't see why anyone would believe Pokémon would -- the Pokédex clearly represents an average or median value of a species' height, not considering different environment or raising, gender distinction and so on. In fact, like with many animals, I imagine many Pokémon also have a rather high statistical spread in their size.

I'm pretty sure they're based on Baragon (Japanese movie monster). They have the same ears and horn, and they're part Ground type because Baragon's a good burrower.

Yeah that too. The bunny thing is also found though.

Also people know about GF and Toho working together for the cries early gen right?

I love the Google Translate text from the Pokemon X/Y website.

Pokemon Chigorasu evolved, Gachigorasu.
I am proud of invincible in the world of 100 million years ago, had reigned as king. The biggest weapon, a big chin that would tear bite like paper in the thick iron plate.

Technique of rock type, "headbutt of double-edged". You can put the power of the whole body, to attack in the head butt. Boasting a tremendous power, but the damage that I receive a reaction is large. To assess the use far from, and let's use it when it comes to the crunch.

Also here's a rough size estimate of a Tyrannosaurid that's about the size of Tyrantrum for those who are curious:

Loving the fanart, especially the Sharptooth vs Littlefoot's mother reconstruction.

I was a bit confused at first, but it looks like most of the heavily-feathered reconstructions of Tyrannosaurus rex are based on the presence of feathers in Yutryannus huali, a large (If not as large) tyrannosaurid.

We honestly don't know whether Tyrannosaurus did have feathers and if it did how many feathers covered its body and in what way. However, we can make guesses based on both the skin impressions we have found and the way feathers have been displayed in other large theropods. Restoration will always involve some guess work.

Does anyone know if Tyranitar will have a megavolution?

Gause that fucker was always my favorite. His name is Tyranitar, he has dat ass in your direciton giving you a look, like he's about to steal your childhood.

Tyranitar was in the list of trademarks for Mega evolutions, so it will most likely have one.

Not that it actually needs one, Tyranitar is already one of the most powerful Pokemon in the game thanks to Sand Stream

As of now unfinished, but this is what I spent my entire morning doing:

Nice. It kinda reminds me of Fracktail from Super Paper Mario.

Garchomp and Mewtwo didn't need Megas either. Plus Tyranitar has gained ANOTHER weakness this gen, so anything to counteract that.

Yeah, I think Garchomp getting a mega evolution is stupid too. Mewtwo is already banned from tournaments, so all giving him a mega evolution does is potentially wreck ubers.

Tyranitar will be used whether or not it has a Fairy weakness thanks to its bulkiness (thanks to sand) and the sandstorm it provides. Giving it a mega evolution seems almost redundant, because a Tyranitar without Sandstream is a gimped Tyranitar.
