I hate multiplayer. I hate that developers are shoehorning multiplayer into games that don't need it. I hate that there soon won't be hardly any single player games left.
We said controversial. Not outlandish.
Kidding, but I gotta ask for an explanation. They are:
- always talking about financial problems (sales never meeting expectations)
- games developed by them take AGES so this goes with point 1.
- upper mgmt seems to not be able to manage issues
- western games (from former Eidos family) sale decently yet they don't capitalize on these
"Grown men playing Pokemon is weird and awkward" is probably a majority opinion. Although I bet they probably wouldn't say the same about Kirby.
.
Wasn't the localization finally funded by Nintendo or something? I don't follow that game's news but I'm under the impression Nintendo was like "You're still not localizing it? Come on, please, we could use a major 3DS game like this in the West. Here, we'll even help."I stared at this screen for ten minutes and have nothing but Bravely Default localization and FF XIV ARR being a success.
why would kirby be the exception?
Pokemon fans are weird and awkward, Kirby fans are completely unable to function in society.why would kirby be the exception?
I've seen it, especially after the release of Kirby's Epic Yarn.I have never seen anyone saying the same thing for Kirby fans... like ever.
Oh yeah, but besides Epic Yarn, I haven't seen Kirby fans get much flak. I remember everyone being into Canvas Curse and Super Star Ultra.I've seen it, especially after the release of Kirby's Epic Yarn.

If it's a good game, no shame in playing it even if the intended audience is kids. As for the adult Pokemaniacs out there, I'd normally think that's weird like bronies if the game didn't clearly have quite a lot of depth.
The target market is definitely kids, but yeah, the games absolutely are very enjoyable for all ages.I don't think Pokemon is "aimed" at a younger demographic. Gamefreak just makes a point of making the series as accessible to as many people as possible, young or old.

- When people complain about JRPG cliches, I wonder if they realize that WRPGs have just as many cliches, just different ones.
I don't get CoD.
Since i played loads of CoD 4 the series has just been going horribly downhill and i can't understand how people can still play it, when it's essentially the same game every time.
Let's see... off the top of my head:
Symphony of the Night is a better game than Super Metroid
Halo has incredibly boring lore. So does Assasin's Creed.
Gears of War would have been better without active reloads
Bulletstorm was this generations best FPS campaign
Most WRPG's are terrible.
I think Nintendo is just bunch old ass franchises for kids no older than twelve. Grown men playing things like Animal Crossing is strange.
(But if it makes you happy, do it)
Alan Wake was one of the best games of the past generation.
Quite a few of them, I'd agree.
Your post is 1,000 times funnier if one imagines it being said in Sean Connery's voice.
I could not for the life of me get into Bastion
I thought FFXII was awesome
The Last of Us was only OK, storywise and mediocre, gameplay wise
Xbone doesn't seem as bad a console as everyone makes it out to be
CoD has sucked since 3.
The Vita is better than the 3DS bar none

I'm not strange![]()
I'm starting to notice a lot of these confessions are people saying older gamers (18+) playing Nintendo games that are supposedly aimed at children is creepy. So are all of you saying I should only play GUTS N SEX: THE VIDEO GAME?
Seeing a lot of opinions that are hardly controversial on GAF. Maybe in a mainstream context saying "Halo sucks", "Uncharted is overrated", and "Nintendo hasn't been relevant since Mario 64" might raise some eyebrows, but on this site they're things that are posted regularly and with pride
I for one think that the entire SNES generation is overrated by those of us who grew up with the console (myself included). Nostalgia goggles, man. I formed this opinion when I realized that I absolutely loved revisiting and reminiscing on games I grew up playing on the console (Mario World, Donkey Kong Country series, Turtles in Time, Star Fox, etc), but when trying to go back to play classics I missed I'm either underwhelmed, disappointed, or bored ( A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, FFIV).The notable exception is Earthbound. That game is awesome.
...The entire downfall of Japanese gaming, such as can be argued that there is one, began with the Gameboy Advance. The GBA could have been the line in the sand where people said "no, thank you" to the products being offered, but instead its games were happily consumed. With the GBA, the companies came to realize "Hey, why bother trying to make games for better hardware. We can just reuse our 16 bit sprites and make just as much money.".
The failure of the PS3 in Japan is as much at fault with the PS3 being an expensive machine, both to develop for and to purchase, as it was the Japanese abandoning all home consoles for their handhelds and phones.
There's a thread out today about how Dragon Quests 1 through 8 are going to phones. There's a lot of posts of people who are expressing disappointment with the news. All such people who have ever purchased a single phone game or have purchased any handheld from the GBA to the present day are to blame, and they are the highest order of hypocrites on this board.
Alan Wake was one of the best games of the past generation.
