NBA Live 14 debut trailer- Next gen is here

I mean exactly what i wrote. They look really good, close up, and obviously not what your gonna be seeing while you play (cinematic cameras).

...have they released an actual gameplay video? (normal camera angles)

No, that'll be coming in a few weeks.

2K has been slowly rolling out next-gen stuff (they've still got current gen games to sell) but I imagine they'll start ramping up as we get closer to launch.

LMAO

So they showed 0.5 seconds clips of real game-play, very sneaky EA

Also why does every players have this fuzzy shine of their head, it looks really weird
Almost looks like all of them have jaggies growing out

See the game looks pretty good here actually, except that guy wearing jersey 3, he looks...lanky?

But once animation kicks in, it just falls apart for me, starts looking weird.

Embarrasing. They should have scrapped it and redone it. Should probably scrap the entire engine by the looks of it.

Wait, wasnt Live's edge over 2k the right stick being used for dribble moves....which 2k has been doing since last year?

Oh boy lol....

2K showed gameplay yesterday that trailer was all gameplay shown from different angles, and yes it does look like that and it animates like that as well.

From the Da_Czar who gets to go out and help with gameplay from the sim community who has played it often.

I have been asked a couple times. Yes the game actually looks like that while playing. Obviously on broadcast your further away.

I will have to check out the new 2K trailer. Live has been poop for a decade. Imo But this trailer liked pretty good to me, especially the dribbling.

Then you should probably watch the trailer of 2K14 because it will blow your mind compared to this. The cloth physics alone blow this out of the water.

Can't get over how bad the player models are, as well as the rim physics. How does this happen? They clearly knew they were going to be up against stiff competition.

Given that NBA Live is only launching on next gen consoles, it shouldn't be held back by last gen console limitations. Yet, the footage looks last gen in lighting, animation, physics and character models.

It's clear to me 2K14 is where I will spend my money.

EA should delete every copy of the Ignite engine and use Frostbite 3 instead or start from scratch :P

Me, too ;_;

One day, we'll have a team that can defend in the paint.

Rudy Gay was on my flight from LA a month ago, I debated whether I should say anything to him. Eventually I mustered up the courage to tell him that I think his inclusion on the team will be a good thing for the Raptors.

As I was walking away, I thought to myself, "Why did you say that? He's gonna be traded by mid-season."

This is why I don't talk to celebrities. I have nothing good to say, lol.

I think except for UFC none of the footage we have seen of their Ignite games has been impressive. Either that engine sucks or their teams had way too little time to make anything decent with it.

Sometimes you gotta look closer for the next gen difference. Like the way that guy traveled at :32 and didn't get called for it. Real life NBA next gen goodness.

I wouldn't say they should scrap it all. It is the first game for the series that they are going to try and build on. I think we all knew it was a starting point. I think their biggest issue is they keep showing these close-ups and non-gameplay angles when the game doesn't look good in those situations. If the ball physics and intelligent AI player movement are the best parts of the game, show that. Showing close ups when you competition is much better with the models is not smart.

I generally get tired of these "gameplay trailers" that don't show any gameplay.

So the basketball fans on this forum can see right through this shit - will the average basketball fan do the same?

I can see EA digging those fucking UT virtual crack-claws in no matter how shit the game is.

to be fair, this is the Raptors we're talking about.

(full disclosure: I live in Toronto, I've seen this in person)

Thank you for taking Rudy Gay off our hands... (Kyle Lowry is the one pictured, but Rudy Gay's defense is definitely being played.)

*Averages 17 points on 18 shots, Grizzlies get shit on for making trade*

Man, that is embarrassing. I can't help but feel a little bad for EA sports for having to show this after the 2K14 trailer.
