Didn't see a thread for this, but TSSZNews' info is usually spot on when it comes to such things
Consumer Business Also Back in the Black

Sega Sammy Holdings this week reported stronger sales year over year in the second quarter–even as it missed its own estimates–but net income rose better than expected.

Though the second quarter of fiscal year 2014, Sega Sammy reported net income of ¥11.3 billion, or $115 million, on sales of $1.64 billion. Net sales are up 19 percent year over year, with net income up close to 200 percent YoY.

In consumer business, the division Sega is a part of, the news was also good. Operating income through Q2 was ¥1.1 billion, or more than $11 million, on sales of $443.4 million. Sega Sammy was expecting a loss in consumer business to this point, and sales were up 24 percent year over year.

Game sales were also up over expecations, to 3.23 million units. That’s a 17 percent increase versus this time last year. Sales of just 3.01 million were expected.

The positive results have allowed Sega Sammy to adjust their projected sales and net income for the whole year up.

All in all, this is good news for Sega, and they’ll need it depending on how well Nintendo exclusives Sonic Lost World and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014 do. Other titles like Total War: Rome 2 and Phantasy Star Online 2 look to be propping up Sega’s bottom line.

On the pink sheets today, SGAMY closed up just a third of a percent.

With how Sonic LW has been doing, I'm afraid it won't do well in the short run, but great to see them doing well so far.
Now start releasing your DC & PC games on Steam, AND GIVE ME WORLD OF ILLUSION FOR PSN AT LEST DAMNIT!

Oh, for some reason I thought they weren't reporting until tomorrow.

Unit forecasts and actuals through end of Q2 (000s).
Code:
	Forecast	Actual
	SKU	Units	SKU	Units
PS3	1	150	1	20
WiiU	3	170	1	0
PSP	2	180	1	130
PSV	1	40	0	0
PC	5	860	5	1270

PC beating expectations. Everything else underperforming.

Were they originally planning to release the Sonic games in Q2?

I expect them to piss this positive financial quarter away next time, so I'll wait for the year end, which I'm sure will continue to mark the consumer division as dead weight yet again.

Finally they can use 0,00000001% of their money to port Valkyria Chronicles 3 to VITA, or maybe not.

That would not be enough to cover the costs of the porting.

Sonic LW isn't doing too good on WiiU and 3DS atm. I worry this'll make them drop support for the WiiU unless Nintendo find a way to cover for them or something.

Gatdayum, serious;y SEGA start porting your ish to PC already. What PSVita game did they release retail that sold less than 1000 units O_o

The PC beat expectations by a pretty significant margin. I'd love to see a product breakdown to see which title(s) over-performed.

The real question is what Wii U game they released that sold sub 1000 units as they actually launched one according to that chart.

The only game they released in Q2 was that Yakuza 1&2 port, right? Was Sonic originally a summer game or something?

And what was the game they were supposed to release for the Vita?

Hope they use that sweet PC money for releasing PSO2 in the West for PS4/PC/Vita. It shouldn't be so hard to port the game with the PS4 architecture, right?

It's like the WiiU fails at everything.

Please use some of those profits to regain the licences necessary to see Outrun 2006, Sega Rally and Sega Rally Revo redistributed on DD services.

Nice, good for them! Does that mean we can get Yakuza 5 localised in the West now?

Aaand I guess not.

Aaand I guess not.

The latter will sell well, the past Olympics games did decently on the Wii, just hope the 3DS ver. is gonna be as good.
Sonic LW on the other hand....

More PC ports of your console games please Sega. :)

Probably mostly Total War Rome 2. That did 800k alone. Football Manager 2014 will do great too,

So they expected to release both Sonic Lost Worlds and Sonic & Mario at the Sochi 2014 Olympics in Q2? And together to sell 170k ? That's interesting. At list we know that there are no unrealistic expectations for these 2 from Sega.

Wow. Their combined unit sales for consoles and handhelds don't even add up to sales projections for PC sales?

I suppose I can't help but laugh now when people say the PC isn't a relevant platform.

the only games they're releasing are coming out on wiiu

That's... unfortunate.

There's a reason for that, pretty much everything they released for the HD consoles was a commercial failure. It did a pretty good job of scaring them away from that market outside of contracts and downloadable stuff.

How are they counting the SKUs? PC had Rome 2 and Castle of Illusion in that quarter unless they are counting AVP dlc but that should have appeared also under consoles. Maybe multiple SKUs for the same game,

I don't think so. It's a fairly niche title, surely they couldn't have expected to sell 150K copies of it. The likes on the facebook campaign page is under 27K

There is only one PS3 SKU listed, so unless they aren't counting it because it was already released in Japan, doesn't it have to be Miku? And 20k sales sounds about right for Miku.

No no, I mean that pretty much all their games should be released on PC, but it seems like a lesson more companies would do well to learn from. The PC market seems like the most viable market from a monetary standpoint at the moment.

Though at the same time, it also has the most market penetration, since having to invest in console hardware is probably a much bigger stretch for most than simply buying games for PC hardware you already own. For 1st Party companies it's understandable (kind of... it's unlikely Sony/Nintendo/MSFT would lose money from publishing on PC). But for third party companies, given sales numbers we've seen a lot lately, the logic behind publishing on just console platforms seems misguided.

20K definitely sounds right for Miku, I just find it hard to believe they expected 150K sales. Google says the Vita version sold 230K copies in Japan, but those aren't exactly comparable. Couldn't find sales figures for Project Diva F PS3 in Japan.

The 150k was likely for the PS3 version of Sakatsuku, which got pushed to October together with the Vita one. The 20k is presumably the western release of Project Diva, which I suppose wasn't planned at the time the projections were made.
