Fighting Games Weekly | Nov 4-10 | I-No what that finger smells like [18+]

Thank you based Combofiend
I was already hype, now it just confirms the event will be awesome
Is it asking too much to do the same with Daigo in SFIV?

EDIT: damn you RiceEater, stop reading my mind

Ok that is fucking nice!

Good shit to Capcom and Combofiend!

Now we can finally put an end to this incessant whining.

I'm... totally okay with that move. That's pretty rad of Combo/Capcom.

SFxT has the two final bosses already qualified - there's not really anyone to throw in there.

Would love to see a Japanese 2-man team flown out for an exhibition.

That would be the hypest thing ever, do it Capcom, pls

It'd be great just for the salt factor. I think we'll definitely see some ranting and whining if Daigo got a special invite again just because of his notoriety. And considering how he could have earned his spot in SF4 compared to Flocker in Marvel where it was out of his control, that would only certain people more upset lol.

KBR asked for some help translating what Nemo posted on Twitter. So I'm posting it here as the char limit on twitter sucks ass.

It's been decided that, from Japan, Abegen and I will be heading out to Capcom Cup. What's more important than just playing Marvel is that I'd really like to play in America! I've felt strongly about this and to be chosen like this makes me very happy! Thank to you everyone that voted for me!"

Looking at the list of participants for Capcom Cup, I don't honestly feel too confident. The line-up is of players I didn't expect and there are many characters that are rare in japan. However, in the 2-3 years since MV3 has been out, I'd like to show that we've closed the gap with America. I can finally say that.

The problem is going to be Justin, Marlinpie, Kane, and Abegen

I lost to Justin the last time we met. He has a bunch of characters not played in Japan and he stopped Kazunoko before Evo the last time. Maybe I should ask Kazunoko to play Wolverine with Akuma assist for me.

Marlinepie has Viper. There's no one that plays her here so I can't even get practice against her. I lose lost to her at Evo, so I'm really worried.

Kane has Haggar which would be dangerous for Spencer especially if I lose him early. Hulk can cause a lot of unforeseen problems too. I'll have to ask Naibo...

I'll probably be staying with Abegen for the tournament. Last time I went to his house, it was one helluva sight. If I'm in the room with him, I'm going to have flashback. Before even thinking of how to deal with him, the only thing that pops into my mind is taking a shower. What should I do?

As for Yipes, ChrisG and Fchamp, there are players in Japan that use those characters so I can figure out a strat. I'm interested in what ChrisG and Fchamp come up with! Next month is going to be fun!

Oh shit FChamp about to release his training weights?

Damn Nemo losing at EVO and Justin wasn't a fluke.. he legitimately doesn't know how to play against those characters! With the amount of minefield characters at Capcom Cup, he is probably going to get bodied early.

It's funny because it shouldn't change anyone's stances on debate of consistency/skill vs hype. All the Neos, RayRays, PR Rogs are still out of this in favor of seeing Tron Bonne.

But PRRog is "retired" and people probably confused Neo with Nemo in the polls (ok they didn't but still, he himself was not that interested in being there and was pushing for Nemo over himself).

I am sure that RayRay probably made top 10 in the polls though. Abegen is actually pretty good and places in Japan frequently but he rarely plays in US tournament same for Nemo. So this is a good way to give players like them an opportunity.

In terms of tournament results and placing, with the exception of PRRog 6 of those top players actually made it in.

1- Chris G (27)
2- Jwong (23)
3- Fchamp (18)
4- PR Balrog (17)
5- Flocker (10)
6- Yipes (10)
7- MarlinPie (10)

3 international players getting the spot is perfectly fine by me.

Tho Kyohei shouldn't be there due to his lack of actually playing, with a month of of preparation he could be back in form.

Why do people keep saying this?

He is top 10 in terms of results in the game. He placed top 25 at EVO, top 8 at TFC and was playing reasonably well at the Danger Room. Yeah he isn't as good as the gods but he is about as good as everyone after the top 7 or so players. He's a solid pick for the tournament especially if the criteria is "hype".

What, Kyohei is my my favorite player but his Marvel game has taken a back seat to his real career. I say that because hecreappy doesn't play that much an admits so on twitter. There's acreason he was last in the voting and it's because he doesn't really play/practice. Had it been a year ago I bet he'd be the top vote getter.

The point was him not being good enough, it was him not really focusing on the game as much any more. He was as good as anyone when did, and like I said with a month to prepare he can be a threat to anyone. Hell I'm rooting for him, but I would have hoped for someone more active to get that spot. Still, glad Flocker is going to be the final boss.

Neither Yipes nor MarlinPie play the game that much but even in their lesser self they are better than a lot of players.

I personally would've given that vote to someone like RayRay but MarlinePie is a fine overall choice.
