I emailed the dev and got this reply:

So I'm guessing the star alignment changes depending on which clues you find on your way to the shore. Time to hunt for more clues :)

Hmmmm...before that encounter I remember to have found actually 2 letters inscribed in stones....you meant those???
It could be a unknown spell?

Damn....no sleep tonight.

Yeah, I mentioned in my email to the dev that I found P, O, and A. Apparently two of them are correct. Wonder what is missing.

Odd question:

I just went to a casino this weekend and kind of have a hankering to play some virtual gambling games (obviously ones where I'm betting virtual currency.) I'm not really a gambler, so I basically just stick to Blackjack, Poker, and Roulette (although I'd like to learn how to play Craps as well).

Knowing that the App Store is kind of a cesspool in general and coupling that with people trying to prey on gamblers with shitty apps, does anyone have any good casino game recommendations? I don't mind paying for an app if it's more comprehensive, either.

Note: I'm not looking for "casinoesque" games like King Cashing or anything, I'm looking for games that I could potentially learn actually gambling tips and tricks from.

Thanks!

Just quoting myself for the new page...

I've played a lot of Super Hexagon lately and I love it, but it's starting to wear thin. Can you reccomend any similar games to it? Preferably hard games that you can restart quickly when you fail.

Another small one I've been playing a bit of is I Am Box. iPhone only but it doesn't effect the gameplay or graphics really at all.

Any chance there is a GAFfer on the Hatch dev team or has anyone been able to play it yet to give some impressions? Could be a good Kawaii Pet Megu replacement perhaps.. Comes out tomorrow apparently.

Any other games out there similar to Ridiculous Fishing? I've been hooked on it since I got it a couple days ago.

Final Fantasy IV The After Years is coming out either tomorrow or next week's Thursday in NZ, and it seems it'll be a "premium" game as most of SE's releases and be released in a full package. I was thinking the game might be free with IAP since back when the game was released for Japanese feature phones it followed that pricing model, and Final Fantasy Dimensions as well, but I guess not this time. Takashi Tokita said the game would be priced at around the same as FFIV when it was released on iOS, in case anyone wanted to know/set aside some money for it. Apparently some sites like RPGamer will be doing code contests too. I'll be doing an OT for it, by the way.

It gets some hate for being a clone but I believe Ninja Fishing was technically Ridiculous Fishing's predecessor on iOS (Ridiculous Fishing was a flash game first or something). So yeah, I recommend Ninja Fishing.

Awesome, thanks!

The bux tipping is still in there, just has a very low percentage chance.
I myself have all floors now, sans most imperial and a couple residential ones. Bux were more frequent during the soft launch period so I managed to stock up quite a bit which has now helped me finish off the levels.

Can you tell me which floors have the most stock so I can maximize the Big Spender VIP? That was one of the tricks to Tiny Tower. I'd like to know what floors to shoot for with dream jobbers.

Thanks

The arcade style cricket game I made came out today. It's called Mighty Cricket and it's free so you should totally check it out if you have the time!

Regarding Tower Dwellers, it really is a very good TD game.

First of all, there is no IAP whatsoever, zero, none.
The artwork is really nice, and it added some new stuff to the genre.

You must micromanage your units as f.e. archers do not prioritize air-units by themselves, you have to tell them to attack the air units.
A tower always starts out the same, it’s a basic building from which 1 ‘militia’ unit comes out, you can add an expansion to the tower like an Archer’s cabin or a Blacksmith. The first turns the militia into an archer, the second in a swordsman.
Upgrading a tower means an extra unit comes out, while the expansions work for other towers as well. (meaning that if you built a tower in spot A, an expansion in spot B, the tower you build in spot C which is next to B, automatically releases an archer/swordsman instead of a militia)
Also, if you have a tower with 2 expansion spots, you can also choose to make 1 blacksmith and 1 archer’s den, which results in a completely different unit coming from the tower.
There's also a magic expansion for mages, but I haven't gotten so far yet.

Here’s the unit crafting tree:

I believe anyone who likes TD games will love this.

Forgot to add there's also 3 spells (on a timer) you can use, an AoE damage spell, a healing spell and a freeze spell

Cute but not like OMFG I GOTTA GET BACK TO MY PET

I think that's all that matters. My wife just checks her Megu a few times a day typically so this could be perfect.

I saw my friend from school, Samir Mathur, posted about you on Facebook recently (some Buzzfeed thing). Worlds collide!

Whoa!! Samir is like Crown Prince of Best Show mythology. Dude is aces.

Yet another excellent hidden gem, for you puzzle fans:

Strand
iTunes
Strand is a new and unique puzzle game. Bend and stretch through absorbing, compelling obstacles in an attempt to connect the elements of each level. A broad selection of levels is included for free, from simple yet fun puzzles to intricate scenarios with multiple game features. For the true puzzle master, additional packs are available to purchase in-game.

Okay, this game is pretty good. The first 50 levels are free and then there are three extra level packs, each $1.99.

In each level, you have a certain amount of numbered nodes. The numbers indicate how many links each nodes needs. So a 1 node can only be linked once, while a 2 node can link to two 1 nodes or be linked to twice. There are barriers that block strands, pegs that can be used to bend your strand around barriers, and more. I definitely recommend giving this game a try

So we are releasing Flick Kick Football Legends on iOS/Android overnight.

iOS -> http://bit.ly/1hVXSF3
Android -> http://bit.ly/HYc6Vo

It is F2P with ads, IAP, premium currency, and timers. Most ads will turn off after an IAP purchase, and premium currency can be earned by watching videos.

The problem with Quiz Up is that the questions repeat FAST. And maybe there's no way around that early on, but it'd be nice if they filtered out questions you've already encountered.

I'm going to throw my weight in with the QuizUp "the players aren't real" crowd, but for a different reason. I've been playing pretty much exclusively in the Futurama category, and I'd say that 19 times out of 20 I play against someone who just randomly hits answers without having a clue. Almost all the people I'm playing against get maybe 1 question right. I don't see how people can pick this category and then constantly get them all wrong. Just now I had two questions with essentially the same answer ("Who owns half of Mars" and then "Who is heiress to half of Mars") and despite being basically given the answer to the second question after the first one my opponent still got it wrong. I can't be playing against only idiots, can I?

Plus I'm always shown as a "beginner" despite being at level 14. Annoying!

Hoping you guys are wrong because i was REALLY starting to love this game. When I finally decided to hit the ranking button to challenge people all over the world? Heaven.

Some of the matches are real, though. I've been declined on some rematches, and accepted on a few others. some people rage quit, too, which amuses me to no end.

Also, playing people that you actually know is fun.

If anybody is looking for a challenger friend to add, I'm: Shola Akinnuso on the game.

I have to say. I've been out of the iOS game for a while and just got a new device and this thread is insane. Great job OP and all involved. Really.

Thanks all for the recommendations of Kingdom Rush + Kingdom Rush Frontiers. Ended up buying and binging both games the past two weeks and finally finished them both. The series is a blast. One of the better TDs i've played.

Seconding this too.

Not sure it's the right place but someone might be interested.

After having risked my life several times playing Device 6 and Warhammer Quest in bed, due to strangling myself with the headphones cord, I bought the BackBeat GO 2, BT stereo headset.
They are for runners but I'll use them mostly in bed when playing.
Was really undecided between this solution or another one like the Jabra Clipper...but after reading tons of reviews I caved in.

So far they are great.
I'm not an audiophile but I enjoy crisp and clear sounds, and for their price point they really deliver.
Rich medium ranges (voices in particular) and crisp clear sounds....they sure sounds better than the Apple headphones I was using in games and for calls.
Siri works like a charm too.
They are super light and after changing the ear tips with the (provided) smaller ones they fit perfectly to my tiny ears (the default ones were not so comfortable after a while)....so perfectly I forgot I had them till my son asked about them.
Can't say about charge yet, and apparently I can connect just 1 device per time (i.e.: iPad OR iPhone...but the pairing is super fast anyway).

If anyone wants to ask something particular, just ask.

Thanks for this - I've been looking for some for running for a while and I also share your pain with trying to play Device 6 in bed.

Will buy some for next payday.

Mind you I haven't tested them for running yet, but according the reviews are fine for that too.
So far I'm very pleased about them.
The only con I've read is the battery duration...but for the price point and my usage I can't complain.

I was probably the only one affected by this here but NB updated Tiny Death Star yesterday and the dream job bug is gone. I'm unaware if the bug was affecting other languages but the game would crash whenever you put someone in their dream job if the language was set to Portuguese. Only way to change the in-game language is to change the entire device's, which I didn't/don't want to do, so I can finally play it now.
