Namco pls
If you ever want to beat Square Enix in the dumb name contest you're going to need to step it up
Import Vesperia
I guess Xillia is fairly representative of the series. Even though the work put into it seems limited, I think the Symphonia re-release would be a great spot. It will probably feel dated but its the game that got me and surely a lot of others into the series.
English subs?
Fuck dat, too on the nose. I would be dying of a combination of cringe and laughter.
field battles is cool but i hope that doesn't mean they're ditching 60fps. =\
I dunno, I've just never seen an open-field battle system that really resonated with me. My favorites all involve separate battle screens.

It'll be amazing if it's 60 fps with a giant open field. Unless they port to PS4 at current fidelity, then I guess it could happen.Oh man, you're right.
Please still be 60fps

I love how they announced it world wide for the first time.
Maybe some day in the future they'll be able to pull off a world wide simultaneous release date.

I just wished Baba had learned to not fear the west a little earlier...Tales of Hearts and Keroro RPG look sick
Since they showed two characters, it's possible they might go with select-able protagonists like in Xillia.
ToZ4/2: Ž-strain Ж for 2015
Would you consider this to be a good entry point for someone that's put off trying Tales games since forever? Strictly PS3-only, I mean.
Simultaneous Japan/West announcement? Dual audio confirmed? Am... am I in the Twilight zone?
I'd offer Namco my money right now, but I'm slightly broke so they'll have to hold onto my soul as insurance until I can pay them. >_>
Where did it say Dual Audio confirmed?
Third paragraph, although apparently I misread and that's for the Symphonia remake, which I already knew.
Edit: Beaten, but hopefully it sets a precedent for things to come. Maybe playing Graces in Japanese would have made the game less shit.
God damn it that edit.

I'm really disappointed that they seem to be standardizing Xillia's artstyle. Slay and Alicia's designs, and what we've heard of the story so far seem incredibly bland. I hope Namco aren't assholes with the alt costume distribution this time around.
Game looks awesome. This surpassed my expectations.
And dat worldwide release... the day finally arrived ;_;
Wut WW release? MEGATON if true!!!
Slay looks a bit like Link. Alicia seems like great character design, finally wearing appropriate clothes. Honestly more hyped for this than Xillia.
I was gonna post a giant list of my thoughts on what this game needs to be the best "Tales of..." game ever, at least from a gameplay perspective. Should I refrain? Would it be frowned upon to make a big "wall of text" post? Because I'd like to share my ideas, just don't want to flood the screen.
Regarding the battle system and the fan survey:
Since they built the battle system based on fan feedback I imagine that the more "3D" battles introduced in Graces were popular among fans. But along with that I'd imagine if fans were really focused on Graces, the fast transitions to battle were likely one of the things fans brought up, and it might have given them the motivation to make the battles more seamless than ever with this game.
I wouldn't be surprised if CC came back again too. Slay/Thray is a sword user + brawler like Asbel so I can see them bringing the style shift back again. But both with improvements (and probably more variety with the style shift), of course.
Alicia is a spear user so I hope she's adept at aerial combos like Judith. Graces had no aerial combos to speak of and I hope fans brought that up so we see it in this game.
