Season 1 was the best simply because it was focused. The cast was manageable. You knew everyone's story and names, the group dynamic was the best. Characters like Glenn actually had a purpose, now he's practically become nothing but someone in the background. The writing was top notch and unexpected (the city scenes, the CDC, etc). The zombies actually seemed like a threat and not just things to bash against a wall.

How was Latino Family 1 named?

Season 1 was great, season 2 is fantastic in a character writing department if you don't have to wait a week between episodes, I can see why people didn't respond well to it when it aired, the current season has been pretty darn good, but we could use some standout scenes and dialogue. Oh last season was spectacular with he governor coming back etc (the first half of the season was one huge apology for the last half of the prior season with the very weak 'raid')

It already happened. Hershel's Farm was better than the last three episodes. At least you had an interesting character with Shane creating drama every episode. Last episode was more boring than any from Season 2. It should have just been skipped.

yeah i miss shane

I can see why if people watched it live, they might not like it. Streamed however is very good. This is just a show that doesn't do well live.

I don't know why but when AMC does those marathons of this show, I can watch all of season 1 and 2 no problem. I may watch the first few episodes of season 3, but I can't watch any more of it. I streamed the first two seasons as well my first time so I don't have the hatred for them that others have. But I simply can't watch seasons 3 or 4 again, regardless of how much I enjoyed some of the episodes.

I really do miss the zombies being an actual threat. That scene in the opening now, with the single zombie in the sport coat and the longish hair walking through the field was actually scary at the time. Now they wouldn't even look at him twice but at the time there was something incredibly creepy about that scene.

Yeah that's true. Average live ratings per season have never done down for the show, but it is a much better show when you can watch it at your own pace, 90% of the complaints over 'slow/boring' episodes wouldn't exist if the delivery model was like Netflix. It's kind of like how people lost their shit over (i think it was) season 2 of Lost (which had weeks breaks between episodes) but it was completely fine if you watched it after the fact and could just hit 'next episode'.

Season 1 and 2 were awful

I binged-watched the first two seasons because I was late to the party. I can see how people were frustrated having to wait a week for each episode of Season 2. Individually, not much happened but as a whole it was a fantastic season. I think this applies to the whole series, actually. Every season would be enjoyable if watched in just a few sittings.
