So who wins in a fight Rick or Abraham?
Judith

Anyway, taaaaaaiiinted meeeeaaaat! Yes yes yes! When Gareth started talking about bears eating their young I knew Gimple would faithfully adapt the storyline. I have my complaints about the show, a lot, but season 5 is really hitting all of the right buttons. Especially as a fan of the comic I'm very happy. And Rick going all apeshit? Yes! Thanks Gimple.

And RIP Bob. You delivered that last line beautifully.

What was the point of the whole "tainted meat" nonsense? Just so we could see a grown man shove fingers down his throat to throw up?

Oh no they ate the meat of someone who has been bit! I wonder what will happen to them?

Machete to the face.

That's what.

Most pointless crap ever.

I assume next week will be a Daryl, Carol and Beth episode?

More pointless crap.

Why do I even bother with this shit?

As someone who is really only watching this show still because of my girlfriend I actually thought most of this episode was good. Of course the dialogue is still awful, but at this point all my hope that the dialogue and characterization on this show would improve is dead. However these last two episodes have been pretty solid to me. The plot has moved at a steady pace, the action has been solid and not too contrived and they have kept things interesting and not overstayed their welcome at certain plot points like in seasons past. Plus The Wire actors have been doing a decent job with the bad material they are given. I'm sad to see Bob go.

All cliffhangers are kind of incompetent imo, but i see what you mean

It felt like the editor cut to black in the middle of the scene. It didn't feel like an ending at all. It just left me befuddled. The episode should have ended with Rick walking towards Tyrese to help him bury Bob. The shot was great.

I thought the same thing. But I knew they weren't gonna. =(

Agreed. Would have been a better, more fitting ending.

When Tara offered to go with Abraham, she and Maggie shared a long look. I wonder what that was about.

I can't believe Maggie and Glenn left! I was waiting for the bus to show back up at the end of the episode :(
And so leaves the voice of reason more or less of the group as Rick ebbs ever closer to being the danger he fought becoming in the first place. The scene where team Rick hacks Gareth and friends to pieces while Glenn and Maggie stood in awe and watched spelled it all. I predict that while Judith represents Ricks last moral shred of decency, her presence being in danger could equally tip him over the edge...He'll likely have to revisit Daryl's council(for lack of a better term) I think in the coming episodes to remain grounded. Will he even stay with the group though when Carol insists on herself parting? Who the hell knows!!! Oh yeah, the Bobby-Q was a nice touch but it wouldn't matter in the long run if they ate him because the disease s already inside them all...

So, I guess Carol is watching over wherever Beth might be and Daryl came back with Ricks masked mate at the end of the first episode?

I was actually a bit surprised that Michonne also got involved with the executions. I mean Sasha was still shocked and wanted revenge for Bob, so I get that. And Rick has been showing his darker side for a while now, so that makes sense to me as well, but I figured Michonne would have more qualms about killing an unarmed woman.

Michonne and Daryl are the soldiers rick can count on. His generals/confidants.

Follow Rick or die.

Nah, she's essentially, a survivor. She knows what needs to be done and has no problems doing any kind of dirty work. She knows when it's a "kill or be killed" situation.

Episodes this season have been excellent. Carl has slipped to the T-Dawg role of having basically no lines.

I'd say Abraham could take Rick. Sure, Rick has crazy mode but Abraham seems like a machine that repeats himself until he finishes the job.

Anyways, regarding the Beth preview, do we even know how far from ATL the group has traveled? Like where was the prison? Where was Terminus? Depending on how farfar they've traveled, I wonder what other major cities could be nearby.
They can't have gone too far. According to the wiki, the Prison was just off Highway 34, which is around south Metro-Atlanta (Peachtree City area). The only other "big" city relatively close by would be Columbus. But idk, as a Atlanta native, that looked like Atlanta to me.

I took the liberty of making my own tyreseshook.gif. It's a bit brighter, so it may look better on some computers/devices.

Haha that's great. I was waiting for this.

I kinda get the feeling that after the slayings of the Bob Burgers eaters, there may be a schism of sorts between Glenn&Maggy versus Rick. Even though they decided beforehand to go with Abe. Seems like they were ready to join another group.

They travel very slowly on foot throughout the show and are constantly sidetracked by people getting seperated or hurt, so it's safe to say they're still close to Atlanta.

And looking at the Terminus map that was used at Comic Con... Terminus appears to have been located in or near Macon.

Interesting. Wonder if it really might be the same hospital Rick was at.

Well I believe the town that Rick, Lori, Shane, and Morgan are from is fictional but it was a rural town, not in Atlanta proper. The hospital Rick was at when he awoke was in his hometown and then he traveled to Atlanta in search of Lori and Carl. You might remember the Iconic image of Rick on the highway that lead into Atlanta.

The Hospital could be anywhere really. Be it a real or fictional city. However if turns out to be in Atlanta, it wouldn't be the same one that he woke up in.

What was the deal with Glenn and Maggie? Did they think everyone should have played nice to the vindictive cannibals?

I really hope they die soon.

That's right, I totally forgot he had to travel to Atlanta in the beginning. You're right.

So glad Gareth is gone. I was hoping Rick would tie them up and feed them to the walkers but the brutal ending they got worked too. Highlight of the episode for me was Michonne getting her katana back. Show's moving at a good clip now thank goodness.

What was up with Glenn, Maggie, and Tara looking all terrified when Rick & company were killing the cannibals? Those fuckers totally deserved it.

Probably had to do with how gruesome it was. Killing with a gun? Totally OK. Killing with a close combat weapon? OMG, we're not human anymore. But yeah, it probably had to do with how inhumane it looked.

It was more the repeated post kill stabbings than the killing.

Yeeeeaaaaahhhh but they ate people and threatened to kill Carl and Judith and before all that they ate Bob's leg. I can totally understand Rick and Sasha rage killing them.
