They claimed 41,500 for the dome show, which even papered is pretty damn good.

35,000+ legit would be terrific for New Japan. If they drew to near to what the K-1 NYE Dynamite show did then New Japan can be very happy.

Dunno what New Japan will do with Shinsuke for the Sumo Hall show in Feb as he has beaten everyone. Goto lost another title shot and can’t do another Tanahashi match yet.

WWE only lures me back into their trap when Punk has the title. Might tune to see HBK finally finish Bret off, though.

Nitro should be fun tonight...

Wait a sec, wait a sec.....

Sting is actually good on the mic now?

That is bigger news to me than any of this. I remember back when I watched wrestling in WcW he was terrible.

Sting was okay before he turned into The Crow. Then...

"It's Showtime, folks!"

I'm shocked as well. Any links for any "good" Sting promos from his Crow turn? Surfer Sting was always usually good on the mic, but Crow Sting was terrible as he never matched his look. He would revert back to Surfer Sting (the superior Sting btw)

Fuck HHH, seriously.

triple h for all his accolades never seemed to have "it" to me when it comes to personality, he comes off as someone who studied how to have "it" and is trying his damndest to have "it" but just doesnt.

HBK does, Ric Flair does, CM Punk does, hell id even say Kevin Nash does.

I dunno, Triple H, Cena, And especially Randy Orton just fall under the "tries too hard" label for me.

I guess its like when I see triple h acting, I feel like saying "ok im watching fake wrestling" hard to explain i guess :lol

Sting has been increasingly motivated in TNA for the past year now, and it shows through his promos as well as his efforts in the ring. As a huge Sting fan myself, it's great to see him putting in the extra effort to end his career on a high note as far as the quality of his promos and matches goes.

Here's one example:

WTF happened to Samoa Joe? He go back to his Zero-1 goofy look?

Okay example I guess. Too "shooty" for me though.

I think Cena, when not scripted, is totally fine and charismatic, that's how he got over in the first place before he became a childish caricature of his former gimmick. And Orton, well he just does great work as a heel, probably one of the top guys in the industry at what he does in that area.

But with Hunter, I agree. He's boring as a face and infuriatingly tedious as a heel. As Cornette called him, he should just be "the guy that works with the guy that draws money." But he can't accept that and has put himself over so many damn times.

Darryl Strawberry, Cyndi Lauper, Bret Michaels, Sharon Osbourne, Michael Johnson, Holly Robinson Peete, Goldberg, Carol Leifer, Sinbad, Summer Sanders, Rod Blagojevich, Maria Kanellis, Curtis Stone and Selita Ebanks will be competing for charity when NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" returns Sunday, March 14.

So ummm Goldberg? I can see him spearing people to make them donate money.

Joe had this dumb "Nation of Violence" gimmick over the summer where he had this goofy looking facepaint and brought a machete to the ring (seriously).

Thankfully though, Joe's reverted back to his older look and has been alot more motivated in the ring (an example is the three-way match with Joe, Daniels, and Styles a couple months back):

And as far as Sting goes, there's alot more examples on YouTube and whatnot, but you'd have to watch TNA over the course of the past year to really appreciate how rejuvenated he's been lately. He doesn't come off as corny as he used to in WCW, for starters.

I really hated Joe's Nation of Violence stint, but now he is back to his old self.

And Sting was really really great in the past year or two, cant wait to see him back. He cant deliver awesome matches anymore, but he has a lot of offer for us fans.

Supposedly WWE has asked USA Network to let them run up to an extra 20 minutes long tonight. It's obvious the confrontation between him and Shawn is going to be at the end of Raw.

Is JR going to be on the Mike? For some reason I can't remember if he's a commentator for RAW anymore :lol

Aww. Too bad either way. I would have loved to hear the phrase Slobberknocker a few times during tonight's show.

After years of bringing up the Montreal screwjob constantly, I hope they finally give the fans a proper resolution w/ Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon and put it to rest. No one wants to see another lame screwjob copy of a face, as seen most recently in Survivor Series 09.

I'm actually pretty hyped for this too since I was a huge Bret Hart fan growing up, and it'll be interesting to see if the new monday night wars will result in something big.

But are there any rumors or anything about a possible Rock return? I'd love to see him guest host RAW.

Hopefully someone will be selling lamps during iPMPACT tonight. That would be great

Personally I got sick of rumaging around looking for free lamps, so I just went to a proper lamp store and signed up to their membership package - if I ever need illumination I just head over to the store, flash my mebership card and hey presto, i've got a lamp.

This thread has re-kindled the late 90s wrestling nerd in me. The hope of new Monday Night Wars has got me hyped even though it will more than likely be disappointing.

Word on the street is that Scott Hall and Sean Waltman (Xpac, Syxx) will be on TNA tonight as well. (that's probably old news but don't hate I'm trying to catch up)

The lamp analogies are out of control. :lol

Its a good thing I had proper lights installed for normal days of the week.

Only seems to go out on Sundays for special parties, but sure can find some lamps since friend is in the market as well.

Damn, I can't believe I agree with a Mark Madden article.

But yeah, he sums up how I feel about the whole situation perfectly. The feeling reminds me of how I felt back when WCW was doing its "reboot." Like, I really, really, really wanted it to be awesome, but I knew deep down that it wasn't going to be.
That is a pretty stupid article. You can't compare the popularity's of Bret return to Hogan and TNA tonight. The 'E is booking a 4 month feud for one match while TNA is just trying to attract eyes to see your AJ Styles and Desmund Wolfes. TNA will be killed in the ratings, but they deliver a high impact, great wrestling show than that will benefit more long term than a Bret Hart appearance.

And honestly, who the fuck in 2010, with both DVR's and remote controls, not watching both shows?

Yeah, the people bashing this don't realize that it's 2010 and everyone has the Internet and DVRs now. :lol

I'm in!

I'll be watching Monday Night Raw for just the second time since Benoit died, and for the first time in its entirety.

I have to admit that guest-hosting Raw makes Bret Hart look a little foolish for not appearing on the Wrestlemania event that took place during his Hall of Fame induction year.

I understand why they're being overlooked in lieu of what else we have tonight, but if you like your high-flying tag team wrestling, you should be looking forward to what I believe will be the debut of The Young Bucks in TNA tonight. They're like the Hardy Boyz circa 1998 - more on the side of highspots than psychology but they're a load of fun and have some innovative moves. I'm torn between hoping for a rematch of the Bucks/MCMG dark match from 2 weeks ago, and hoping that they hold off on that match and build to it properly

If you've never seen them before and want to get familiar with their moves, here's a good bunch of highlights of them working in Dragon Gate. Although the vids at least 18 months old, it still features most of their popular spots http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X85WqDzWmLs

When will the show start (in hours) ?

4 1/2 hours until Impact (8 EST), 5 1/2 hours until Raw (9 EST)

So 1 AM GMT for Impact, 2 AM GMT for Raw

And yes, I'm definitely looking forward to the Young Bucks... hope they don't throw them into the X-Division match.

I usually just stop reading when they start talking about a match I havn't seen yet.

Supposedly Ric Flair was spotted at the Orlando airport last night, which is where Impact is taped:D I'll mark out for Flair. Also Val Venis(I think with a new character could be great, I always thought he was good on the mic and in the ring), Orlando Jordan, and the Nasty Boys are backstage. Hopefully they don't put the Nasty Boys on tv.

Sting's a weird one... he was always mediocre on the mic in WCW but he's gotten great in TNA the last couple years.

Wat? Sting has always been awesome on the mic.
"Who's afraid of the big black bat?". That was awesome.

And at least in WCW he never refered to himself as "Steve".
Until Vampiro did and broke the 4th wall in that terrible angle.

I still want that rainbow style Sting seen in the promos before he had the "new look" comeback at some PPV. That was awesome.
