Just found this

"RVD'S WRESTLING PLANS FOR JAN.Happy New Year everybody. This is the time to make resolutions that you can put off over the weekend, start on Monday and keep for about 2 weeks. Ahhh, holiday traditions! The wrestling business is exciting for the first time in quite awhile. This Monday kicks off the new ratings war between WWE and TNA-like I have to tell you! I admit, I am interested in the hype. In fact, I feel like I’m involved with this new era just because of the ginormous rumors involving me and a return. I’m going to say this-even though I know it won’t do much good-don’t be mad at me that you tuned in to see your favorite wrestler and I wasn’t there. I’m going to be watching with you."

from www.robvandam.com

He posted this blog today...Guess he won't be there.

If Bishoff is running anything, I can see a storyline forming where he/Hogan marries Dixie Carter to get full control of the company :/

Devil's advocate... if he were one of the surprises do you really think he's going to confirm that in his blog???

Why would he go out of his way to tell his fans that he wasn't going to be there?

To keep it a surprise... he can say he got a big offer at the last minute when he does show up. Pro-wrestlers lie all the time.

Don't think Paul Heyman will show up unless it is to be a mouthpiece. I am kind of disappointed they have only announced two matches for Impact and both are women's matches. This is their night to impress. They need to have a stacked card with their top stars.

Not that I mind surprises and stuff, but I hope TNA doesn't blow their entire load in a single show.

I mean older talent has its merit, but too much at once, and people who may have been turned off by other performers and stuff may not give it a fair shake.

Especially if it looks like a poor man's WCW or a WWE redux.

Where are you guys getting your information about Triple H putting Shane out of the family and
Orton not liking Kennedy

I'm BACK IN THE FOLD! Every person flips out when I say "Bret Hart will be back in the WWF on Monday!". People who have long moved on from watching pro-wrestling.

The Vince McMahon-Bret Hart saga brings people back.

Also, I had no idea TNA was going live on Monday nights until 2 days ago. I don't watch wrestling anymore, but I tried to keep up with the big happenings. I'll watching both shows tomorrow night for sure.

TNA = WCW part deux. But better managed.

lol at this article. Where are they getting their percentages from? They don't even provide evidence for
Kennedy
, they just say "if you think about it, his return makes sense!" Some of the stuff in the article may turn out to be true, but the writer is just guessing and pulling stuff out of his ass.

Yeah, I think this is a case of hit baiting in which they can later say "plans changed" if things don't pan out or take credit for calling it in hopes of amassing a following.

Kennedy was probably released because his in-ring work sucked. He kept injuring himself and others. I also doubt too many people miss or care about Keneddy now.

Having Heyman and Bischoff both in Impact doesn't make much sense.

Scot Hall coming back would be nice. But, nothing major there, just a TNA star coming back.

TNA's main steal if they pull it off will be RVD. He has maintained a good relationship with WWE though and I see him going back to WWE.

In response to the spoilers:
Why was kennedy released from wwe?
because he is a poor wrestler that is prone to injury and unsafe.

When was the last time Outcast made a wrestling related post?

I'm tempted to tune in tomorrow just to see the direction of both shows from here on out. I'm especially curious to see how the WWE intends to improve their product. Bret Hart is only going to help them so much. TNA needs to step their shit up to if they want to compete. Too bad I don't care for wrestling anymore or this would be more exciting. Still, I'm compelled enough to check this out.

Dunno... he hasn't been on since he lost his job a few months ago.

I myself really don't watch much anymore, haven't for a few years. But this new "war" has caught my attention.

I like the guys in TNA, but not the way the company is ran. They'll find a way to screw up all this momentum I'm sure.

They'll have to cut some people if they're bringing in all this bigger name talent.

EDIT: Wow... looks like Flair vs Hogan is going to lose the crown for the highest combined age.

WrestleKingom will have Terry Funk (65) vs Abdullah The Butcher (68) in a match. YIKES.

I saw Abby a few years ago in a "match" and he was awful. He never took a bump and the most action he i was walking a lap around the ring.

I'm glad Kennedy got released, if not Kofi may not have got a spot at the main event table.

RVD is the only big addition for TNA worth caring about the rest aren't going to help them much bar a really huge surprise. Then again if Monty returned I'd tune in again. I think I'd cry if Stone Cold ever went there. Flair I couldn't give 2 shits about now.

I'm hoping theres some way I can watch the first hour of impact in England before I tune in to Raw.

I don't know if I'm risking getting banned here, but search around on Justin.tv when the show starts.

I'm going with to see if TNA does anything new as I'm sure the WWE won't.

Both quoted for the truth. I'm excited, but only to a point. I feel like I'm trying to convince myself "Hey! This is a big deal! Don't you get it?!".

WWE probably won't change much. The only things we know is Bret returning.

We'll still have DX, Hornswaggle, mid-carders going nowhere in storylines, Cena-Sheamus borefest, Hornswaggle, and shitty commentary. Lots of things need improved or changed in order for RAW to be watchable on a consistent basis for me.

I haven't wached WWE in ages....I wouldn't want to miss this one though.

There's a rumor savage is gonna be on Raw tomorrow as one of the big surprises....it'd be kinda cool too.

WWE is bland and predictable now and the PG rating isn't helping things. Obviously Bret won't wrestle. That leaves him as a mouth piece. He has obviously made up with Shawn already if he agreed to this storyline. That leaves him to be the special guest referee at Wrestlemania. I will dvr Raw just to see Bret come back(which you know they will save for the end of the show) and fast forward until that segment.

Okay, now who in the wide world of meth/crack smoking is saying that one?

I'm in the same situation as you. I'll be watching both shows tomorrow but I doubt I'll still be watching in a few weeks, maybe one of them if something catches my attention. I used to watch Raw from around the beginning til around the time The Rock/Austin left, maybe 6 or 7 years ago. Ever since then, I've watched sporadically but I don't follow it anymore. If they use Bret well and keep him until Mania, I might be watching for nostalgia's sake.

On the other hand, I still appreciate quality wrestling and watch indy and overseas stuff. TNA has been picking up names, and they've had good talent for awhile. I never watch their show though, the last time I did it was Vince Russo booking 20 minutes of wrestling into two hours. I have a feeling that I'm gonna tune in to WCW circa '01 tomorrow night and not be pleased. If they present a well written show with good matches and at least 50% is wrestling, I'd probably watch again.

In terms of the new ratings war, I hope one of them wins. If WWE steps it up, maybe drops that PG business, and starts pushing new people into the main event it could be a win for me. Unless TNA gets better ratings for a few weeks, I don't think the WWE is going to change at all. I'm rooting for TNA to rate higher and spark an actual war, a good old fashioned wrestling war. Where wrestlers jump ship and talk shit. The bounds of kayfabe are stretched beyond recognition and nobody flinches. Both companies taking risks trying to crush the other, with little to no long term plan. That would be sweet. :D

I saw Abby a few years ago in a "match" and he was awful. He never took a bump and the most action he i was walking a lap around the ring.
That's about all he's done for the past 15 years. :lol
