How do we NOT have the technology for detecting a leak in a pipe and having automated shutoff valves

IS there no ambient consistent pressure in the pipes?

It might be time to MANDATE that companies spend the money to minimize or prevent this type of thing with redundant tech

This is like a basic plumbing redundancy how is this not mandated tech for one of the more destructive and common environmental spills

yep, sometimes I'm glad I won't have to put up with this shit much longer (this isn't meant to sound suicidal just means I'm relatively old). I just feel sorry for the younger generations.
