You need the Steam base game in order for the DLC to work.

Too many people were purching the gift for people that owned the retail copy of the game.

Also I bought STALKER Bundle and Farcry 2. I can overlook flaws in games, and GAF likes to exaggerate sometimes. :lol

I haven't finished downloading the others but dark forces 1 works just fine.

Won't even boot. Hard to tell what's wrong with it when it just does that.

Yes, Jedi Academy is great. It's not as good as Outcast, but still an overall good game.

Nah not really. I played Outcast first, and the only thing I missed out on was the main characters previous adventures, and they aren't directly related to the story of outcast.

Now that I decided to skip on the square pack I figured it'd be okay to buy some games I would've missed out on. I'm a little annoyed that I won't get Mafia II for twelve dollars, but I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities down the road.

I played the second far cry for quiet some time and really liked it. I gotta admit, though, I'm not a shooter nut. I mean, I love the half-life series, and I can appreciate smart level design in any kind of game, but I can't tell great shooter mechanics from mediocre ones. Maybe thats why I never appreciated the original far cry and crysis as some people do.

(Also: Why are you overwhelmed with all this techniques in crysis right from the get go. Why not add them one by one. And the game does almost nothing to teach you this abilities. Whats up with the learning curve in this game, CryTek?)

I just booted up Dark Forces 2. Besides trying to figure out how to run it in a window, it seems to run fine. Windows 7 64bit EVGA 460GTX 1gb and 4gb of ram currently. It even has widescreen resolutions , but I'd rather run it smaller in a window.

Far Cry 2 is ok but needs to be played on easy difficulty. It really helps lessen the frustration of the hyper aware enemies and crappy weapon accuracy.

You should have specified that it was that game in the first post.

Jedi Knight 2 and Academy are easily worth 5$ and are easy to "modernize" but you scared people away.

There is a chance that they may slip a new deal into Recap day. I hope they recap some first week stuff to, I changed my mind!

Also, who still doesn't own TF2? BUY IT! Even if you have the Console version of the Orange Box.

Major Steam issue here.

Barely any games will launch.

The little box that says Preparing to launch game... pops up. My avatar gets the green border for a second and then boom. nothing.

Deleted clientregistry.blob and restarted steam.


This is happening after transferring all my Steam Apps to a new installation. For some reason it never had to update all the games.

A couple games work. I got lara croft and painkiller working. that is it.
