[Anne of Green Gables - 25]
Rather than having straight up re-cap episodes to save time this show goes the route of having a few new scenes of interaction as a set-up for the lengthy flashabacks. Personally I find this rather more annoying than the standard re-cap because you think you're sitting down to a normal episode, but actually you're just wasting your time.
It didn't help that all the non-flashback stuff was clearly filler made by the c-team. It was hampered by weird editing, poor composition, a flat script and pretty much no story to speak of.

Well, this helped to wash the bad taste of the last episode out of my mouth. Anne's brand spanking new teacher is apparently the living incarnation of Jesus, everyone loves her, she's perfect, good with the boys and an inspiration to every human being on the planet. Just look at her sleeves:
Apparently, to raise money for a new flag, all the children are going to put on a play. Anne competing for a role, practising and acting in a dramatic production of any sort basically writes itself, as you'd imagine given her melodramatic personality. I imagine this is the scene where all the Canadian's teared up:
