Yeah, but it's okay. They don't really want to know what they're missing, it would make them re-examine everything they have believed in up until now their entire lives. I don't want to force that on anybody.

I try to...but how are they gonna cram over 10 volumes into 13 episodes?
The LN author himself will be supervising the final season, something he didn't do for any of the previous ones. I'm guessing he will decide exactly what needs to be in the show such that it can resolve to the LN ending.

Hell no, I am too.
Every night I battle my inner demons on this issue. One of them tells me to love Louise while the other one knows I just want Siesta badly. Eventually a 3rd one hops in and tells me since the Princess was so hot in S3, she needs my care and attention too.
Wow, I missed a hell of a discussion huh. Let's see, anything recent that people didn't already bring up... from an overall standpoint, Matryoshka wasn't that bad, Fukanzen Nenshou was pretty cool, Hacking to the Gate was awesome, and Morning Arch was stylish. Then a few others already mentioned like the first Star Driver OP and Deadman Wonderland.
If it's just the songs, though, I like pretty much about 80% of everything that comes out.
Tommyrod is creepy as fuck. Every single one of his facial expressions is super scary.
These fights should be awesome. Wasn't expecting Match and the other dude to get a legit one on one. Maybe these guys will be a bit more important later on.

Yeah Kamisama Dolls OP(Fukanzen Nenshou) is my favorite of this year. Great song, and some pretty nifty visuals to go along with it.
With regards to OP's in general though, I don't see it mentioned much, but Tytania has to be one of my favorites. The vocals/music are so powerful and bombastic, and although the visuals to accompany it are not all that impressive, they match up very well with the song itself.

Kukanzen Nenshou left me with a weird obsession with the Japanese word 'nandaro'. I still like listening to it even though I never finished the show it's attached to.
Oh yeah, one more OP that I think doesn't get enough credit is Diver (Naruto Shippuuden OP 8).
And one more I just remembered: the Fullmetal Alchemist 2005 movie OP (warning: has spoilers for the 2004 TV series), which did a nice job implementing the art from all of the original DVD covers.
Speaking of FMA, anyone else going to that Bay Area showing of the movie this Sunday?
Some of my other favorites, most of which aren't exactly recent, some of which I like mostly because of the songs, and some that also follow that "every anime opening" video to the letter.
Just being faithful to the manga. (Though I have read the whole manga, I don't remember offhand if the manga cuts back on nudity a bit in like the anime does... I'd guess no, but I'm not certain.)

It was the age before internet piracy, so yeah, they didn't have a problem selling videos.
What, do you think anime has more pantyshots now? But I thought anime has always had those too...

I also started up Chobits this week, just finished episode 10. I dunno how I feel about it, on one hand like Mirai Nikki the mysery around Chii and her relationship with Hideki is definitely interesting, but on the other hand I'm also all too aware that this show is just made to fulfill some weird otaku fantasy of having a girl that's 100% dependent on you which is pretty damn creepy.
I hate Chobits... can't stand that show. Stupid CLAMP and their messed up relationships... (spoilers)
the series even sort of makes fun of people with robot girlfriends, and then the central plot is about ... a guy with a robot girlfriend. Um... yeah. Sorry, it's still stupid, even if it's the MC doing it. And she is a robot, not really self-aware.
And even apart from that, the show is just annoying and bad. I've watched a few episodes of it here and there, but it's just intolerable, I can't watch the whole thing.
Death Note opening 2 is bad, really bad. You watch and think to yourself, "This is bad". Knowing this, you still get a sense of pleasure watching it. Death Note opening 2 is special, really special.

EDIT EDIT: Not just this season eh? Well, most of the best have been spoken for, but I'm going to add Saber Marionette J and Slayers NEXT and Slayers TRY for some Megumi Hayashibara goodness! <3
The memories with the Reborn OP, I think that had, of the six Ive seen the most action of them all in addition to the epic gokudera moment and the one of Tsuna.
Soul Eater is nice but I think the 2nd opening is nice too, I guess it made the series seem truly dark, which at times it is, the first seemed a bit too lighthearted. Its hard to choose favorites when some have so many openings, like for Bleach Id be torn between (2)D-Technolife, Ichirin no Hana (3) and (13)Ranbu no Melody, and Change (12).
I'd make a list of my favorite OPs, but I have too many and I'm too lazy to search them all up on youtube and link them. Tank! will forever be number 1 though.
Both Ben-To and Fate/Zero went the action route in terms of visuals with a good tune to go with them, I can't help gravitate towards Ben-To's OP more simply because at the end of the day it's all about half priced food. :lol

C3 OP is very catchy but definitely forgettable visually.
The characters in it look like Denpa Onna clones so the whole thing feels kind of off. Plus it was pretty boring actually. Not feeling that show.

You're supposed to "fix" the statement with something like: Yeah, it's awesome when they spend so much time & talent on glorified toy/bodypillow advertisements, isn't it?
I'm sure dust jackets are a "legitimate art form" (as opposed to an illegitimate one?) vis-à-vis novels, too. I guess I just can't kid myself into caring, though.
That's a self-imposed limitation, not something inherent to the medium itself. It's not as if short stores and poetry have to have less depth than novels, for example.

And if you want to haggle over music videos, they don't siphon away money and time and talent from the film & television industry (the opposite, actually), do they, which is the real problem with dem glorified credits sequences.
You can't really say that OPs take away money and time and talent from TV and/or film in any significant measure, that's a rather big assumption to make; people working in OPs are either also working in the show they made the OP/ED for or wouldn't have worked in the show if it wasn't for the OP/ED.

An eye-catching dust jacket will convince you to pick the book up to give it a look. A catchy OP will get you psyched up for the show to come. That's a sort of art in and of itself.
