The only good thing about YnS was the extra shit at the end of every episode.

it was the only thing closest of that dude having sexual relations with that maid nymph Motoka.

Damn, what a way to lose a fight. Bogie got fucked up.

I'm pretty intrigued by Gourmet Cell abilities. So far it seems to put a bigger emphasis on adaptability and survival than pure strength. Of course they'll all be useful in battle anyway. Out of all the things that would feel right at home in the One Piece world, that is a pretty interesting way to set it apart.

Yosuga no Sora 6
Okay, the whole Viola Sex Montage was kinda weird with Hime Cut, but Jesus Christ, I had the strangest urge to high-five someone after Genki Girl got boned. I hope that this show isn't growing on me, because then I'll end up crying bitter tears of self-loathing while laughing, and for those that don't know, crying while laughing hurts like the dickens.

But I made my bed, I'll be damned if I don't sleep in it. This is the corniest, sappiest shit I've seen since Ef, a Tale of Memories, and the only thing that makes it "better" is that they're not really shy about the tits. By the end of all this, I'll probably only have finished it to see what a really bad show is, so I will finish it, FOR SCIENCE!

There was an announcement today of a new Space Battleship Yamato 2199 movie to be released next year. The director is....... Yutaka Izubuchi.

Creator of RahXephon, gave concept advice for Glass Fleet... hmmm.

You see people complaining about him reusing longish sequences all the time. Then you see a ton of people trying to defend that choice with "but that's important to the plot!"
Who said reusing sequences was important to the plot?

Not insulting him or anything, I just seriously recall him saying that or something similar. I know he was trying to justify those sequences somehow, but I don't totally remember.

RahXephon (he created the concept, designed and directed it), Birdy Decode (he was the creative producer and he put the team together), and Skullman (the remake was his concept, he designed and wrote the series) are probably the best representations of Izubuchi's talent as a showrunner. What's interesting is the all the 3 shows he was involved in on a higher management level are either a homage or a remake of much older properties (Raideen, Birdy, Skullman).

I'm definitely interested in how he "re-envisions" Yamato.

Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance

That was awesome.
Number of times the music was highly unfitting for the scene being depicted: two.
I feel like this film, even more than the first one, was designed to have the maximum effect when viewed by someone already well versed in the franchise lore. Unfortunately that makes me unable to comment on how approachable it is for the general consumer, but I definitely enjoyed it. I really regret not having had the chance to see this one in theaters.

Also this means I've finally caught up on all Eva animated material (minus D/R, but that's all taken from other sources anyway). Now it's just, what, a year-long wait? Hopefully they'll be snappier this time around with a U.S. theater release... who am I kidding, I'll be stuck waiting to import the BD by mid-2013. Gonna be fun dodging spoilers for half a year...

I thought the only thing that was suuuper enhanced was the one super big thing. And then there's one minor thing I can remember.

Kaworu's last line, and general stuff with Touji and Unit 3 or whatever unit. I think I remember noticing some other pretty minor things, but overall I think it was largely really good in its own right, just with the huge Kaworu payoff.

A year is probably way too optimistic it is like hoping for an end to the NBA lockout : (

I wish someone would put the tv series on blu ray. 2013 seems so far away though :(

Maximum effect of profound disappointment and slight disgust, sure.

Yeah, but the thing is, the show's open to alot of interpretation, so by that measure, and true classification is made moot. However, through my interpretation, while she is certainly a yandere, she's what I'd call a "weak yandere" in that her nature has a decent freudian excuse. Ms. Nice Boat in School Days is what I'd classify as a "strong yandere" because while she certainly had pre-existing conditions that set up her yandere-ness, her actual breaking point was discovering her eventual rejection, which as far as reasons to go loony go, is pretty pathetic.

tl;dr,
Presumably having your family slaughtered
is a better excuse than "he cheated on you". Though both are yandere. I'm not denying that.

Ms Nice Boat's yandere tendencies didn't come out until she discovered
main dick was stabbed to death on the floor just after they got back together, and that the girl who stole him away from her the first time claimed she was pregnant.
It wasn't as though she was rejected initially either, she was being strung along and a lot of back and forth.

Peach Girl 03 - 05

Wow main girl (Adachi) can't catch a break, any female friend she's made is either a mega bitch, a super bitch or a king kamehameha bitch.

Yandere has more to do with the obsession, not really as much the reaction. For example, Yuno was yandere before she became aggressive. All that matters is the aggressive idolization of the object of desire really, and because Ms. Nice Boat had
a nice delusion going
, she qualifies well before she went
homicidal
.

Peach Girl - 06

And so with all the misunderstandings cleared, the wicked bitch of the west now turned into dust and Main Girl finally nabbed her dream man, we can now call this a happy end to this series.

Wait, what did you say? There's 19 more episodes to go? Oh boy...

Sket Dance - 32

Seeing Roman breaking the 4th wall is a sight to behold.

So for like the 1 person who noticed, I've backed off of doing the individual episode reviews for Legend of Galactic Heroes because I realized it's just not going to look that great (on account of it being a revisit rather than a fresh view).

What I might end up doing is reviews based on each season instead. The full OVA reviews I did still stand because I never watched those before.

Edit: Watching it at a slower pace than in university definitely helped a lot.

Guilty Crown - 05

dat
NTR
and wheelchair moe!

I was prepared to dislike this episode based on the 1st half. It was cliche as fuck and Shu finds new and boring ways to be annoying. The 2nd half totally redeemed this though. It finally, for me, became less predictable and there was some genuine character development moments. Its nice to finally see more about the other characters and not just Shu and Inori. It seems to be ramping up the crazy rather early though but I'm enjoying the ride.

Spoilers here:
I still want to believe that they're throwing all this shit at Shu to break him down and rebuild his character. I mean, he now thinks he was NTR-ed :( Poor bastard. If this was by a more competent team I'd be convinced this was happening but alas it isn't.

...what?

Goddamnit, the wait to get home is going to suck :/ I just had to let curiosity get the better of me.
Seriously though, NTR'd? I hope that's some hyperbole as that'll make me tragically sad otherwise.

with a dash of misunderstanding of course. This IS anime
. I was kinda surprised that they didn't go for the super cliched route
magical girlfriend
and decided to go in this direction.
