Part of me says Dolan cracks under the pressure.

Then part of me remembers he refused to fire Isiah 832 times because he gets all resistant any time anybody tries to tell him what to do.

Yeah but idiots like SAS are saying its a good move to dump Lin so obviously he will decide to keep him to stick it to the media.

They have jacked ticket prices up every year and delivered a sub standard product.

Its one thing if they are doing it for basketball reasons and they want to move away from Lin, its another thing if he is doing it for money.

The team in 3 years will at least be better than 2006 season so it should look like a sale.

I like Melo but SAS has such a love affair with him it's disgusting.

No one can guard Wesbrook.

Glove? lol, what he can do to Westbrook pull-up jumper with 20 second left on shot clock? GP will just watching that shit.. and that is correct.

Gary Payton

Guarded MJ better than anyone in the Finals. Ever.

Can't guard Westbrook.

Kids these days...

I hope he is trying to say that GP watching YNB go full retard would be the best option than to actual keep him from shooting.

Indiana and Boston took them to 6 games. And any objective viewer of the Boston series knows they got completely robbed in game 2 by the refs. They would've been up 2-0 if that game wasn't one of the worst officiated major playoff games in over a decade.

Puddles alternate?

IDK.

Westbrook is stupid athletic and can go on those retarded scoring runs where it doesn't matter who is in front of him. Its so random though. Nobody can guard YNB as good as himself...

he's not even the best scorer on his own team

I do know.. that Pippen or GP would shut him down.. GP would destroy him on both ends..

It's not like GP was unathletic or something

Looks like I may have to change my avatar today.

The Blatche era is very likely over. Hard to imagine that the three stooges era lasted as long as it did, but it'll be nice to move on.

Im not saying they couldn't, but its not like there haven't been teams this decade that haven't but D on his ass. When WB gets that blind hot streak going unless you are stealing the ball or blocking his shots, its hard for anyone to stop. Same is true for a couple players.

Please games 4 and 5 of the LA-OKC series were way worse officiating wise just noone cared because it was still over fast.

name one PG in the league today with D like Payton or Pippen?

Rondo could have been that but he is not...

Mavs have recovered nicely after their offseason looked like a complete disaster. The team looks decent and they still have flexibility for next year's FA.

To Kings fans, how can you possibly recover from something like that? Especially after Donaghy confirmed it. How can you go on as a fan of the sport after witnessing such a travesty? That Kings team was something special. They were incredibly fun to watch, had a great and diverse group of guys that meshed so well together, it was a dream setup. That was your dynasty in the making being completely ripped away from you by David Stern and other top NBA executives. How can you go on watching this league after that? Unbelievable.

In the defense of current pg's with defensive ability the hand checking rules make perimeter defense especially on pgs fucking insane.

When it comes to full court pressure making other pg's lose their fucking mind Avery Bradley is the best today.

As great as Payton was, if he played in this era he wouldn't be as known for his D due to the rules. Would still be All D basically every year but not "the glove" and someone to be remembered for D for years and years after retirement.

THey'll be a 6/7 seed and out in the first round. I'm sure Dirk is thrilled.

What's done is done with Chandler.

I'd rather be a 6-7 seed with cap flexibility next summer than a 4-5 seed with 3 years of crippling bad contracts.

I just learned that all of Iverson's money is gone and he's in debt so now he's playing in an indoor soccer league in Rochester for money.

On the one hand that's depressing, on the other hand he's a total jerk so it's karmic.

That team passed the ball better than any I've ever seen. It was like they'd been playing together for 20 years and knew exactly where the next guy was gonna be at the exact time, it was beautiful to watch. It was poetry in motion in basketball form, as corny as that sounds. That title and potential dynasty afterwards was inches from your grasp and it was ripped away from you by external factors you had no control over. I just can't imagine.

What value free agents are out there in 2013?

Stiffs like Landry Fields and OJ Mayo get around 8 million a year on mutliyear deals in FA. There isn't a single FA signing this summer thats not going to be a horrible blight on their teams payroll.

I am sure he would adapt and be pretty damn good... Just like Rondo was looking he might be until he started gambling too much..

how was AI a total jerk?
I don't think there is but a hand in the face is a hand in the face.
that's not the definition of good D..

Kris Kardashian making $12 million a year.

lol

The PR debacle that was his marriage to KK has been overshadowing the fact that the guy's a double-double machine and has been for the past two years, and is young to boot. I'd say he's definitely worth 10-12 mil a year.

uh Mayo signed a contract that's probably only worth 4.5 mil with the Mavs... 2nd year is player option and probably only 5 mil or so.

CP3, Josh Smith, Millsap,

Yeh, I can't wait to see who gives Josh Smith and Millsap max deals. And I'm sure Chris Paul will leave LA for a small market team..

Tanking for draft picks, i can see the logic in that. But capspace is pretty useless, especially for the non-marquee teams. You just end up spending 10+ million on players like batum.....

Its certainly part of it. You don't block every shot...

Did I say anything about blocks? lol..

Good D is about position... Taking your player out of their comfort zone.. If they like to shoot from 13 ft make them shoot from 15.. So forth and so forth..

The KK saga helped him a lot. The fact that people who don't watch basketball know who he is is evidence of that.

Shane's hand in the face is not what makes him a great defender. Its not even about the shot. The shot is one of the last things you key on - and its not even the most important either.

But this is just off the main point anyways.

It's funny how Pau was the one every was calling to move and now the talks have completely shifted to bynum. Frankly, i'm scared now. With mitch, that quietness means something is imminent and honestly at this point i'd rather have pau stay with nash here.

Defense is about making a guy make a play some where that he isn't comfortable. Hands in the face can be annoying, but a lot of guys have spots where they can hit shots with their eyes closed so obscuring their vision doesn't work if they can still see even part of the basket.

Its really scary how much mitch looks like john malkovich

Even if you figure the prison stint was just him being a dumb kid, having your body guard nearly beat a man to death (concussion, a ruptured eardrum, burst blood vessel in his eye, torn rotator cuff) because he won't let your entourage have the VIP room is kind of a douche maneuver. He's also been banned from multiple casinos for bad behaviour.

Then there was the time his wife ran away from him and hid out at his cousin's place. He bust in with a gun looking for her and "was arrested on 14 felony and misdemeanor charges, including assault, terroristic threats and weapons offenses."

I know we all have bad days, but there's kind of a pattern there.
